00:09an ex army. Yes. I am a Lieutenant Colonel OPN Kalyan. I served the nation for 38 years in
00:16uniform and I am now retired and I participated in this five kilometer run of the marathon.
00:23Okay. You participated five kilometer run. What do you feel about after participating in a marathon here?
00:30It is because of high altitude. Breathing is problem especially. Yeah. It is definitely a tough run
00:37whether it's five kilometers or half a marathon or a full marathon. But the route was very tough
00:43and due to high altitude of course the breathing is quite difficult. But still I could complete
00:50the five kilometers in 58 minutes. 58 minutes? 58 minutes. Yes. Okay sir. Have you took part
00:59here in the early also? Yes. I have been a good. Third time. Yeah. No. This is first time I am
01:05coming to Tawang. Okay. But earlier I have been as a you know during my service I participated in
01:12athletics and aquatics both swimming and won medals both in international as well as national meets.
01:19Yes. Okay sir. What do you feel after visiting in the Tawang? Because it is a very sensitive and
01:24strategically important place of international protest of Indus-China border and especially
01:28Indus-Tiburth, Indus-China especially. And this time during this time in the 1962 there was the war
01:34in the British China. Yes. Now things have changed. That time in 1962 our army of course was just developing
01:43and now we are fully prepared. And Anachal Pradesh, the people of Anachal Pradesh are a great great
01:52patriots of the nation. And I'm sure we will not have any problems here anymore in Anachal Pradesh from anyone
01:59where it may be. I come to know that you are the two part in the 1971 war also. You were in that time. Yes. During 1971 I was commanding a petroleum platoon in Mishamari.
02:11And at that time I was just 22 year old, young lieutenant with just two and a half years service. And I moved this petroleum platoon
02:18to East Pakistan, now Bangladesh and operated from that area.
02:24What do you suggest in the young generation and some women are taking part in this marathon in the high altitude?
02:31I come to know some couples also running and girls are coming from the various locations. Yes. It is a moral booster. Actually, I feel not only youngsters, even the middle aged and even the senior citizens should participate. And this is a way we can show that our generation, they are strong enough to face the
02:54face any sort of difficulties in life. Do you feel that in your age, people need to
03:01dance always for fitness in your self-fitness? Yes, definitely. Why not? Actually, age is the only number as people say. And I'm sure we all, senior citizens can participate. And it's an encouragement to even youngsters when seniors participate. Thank you so much for talking with us, ATV. Thank you so much.
03:21Thank you so much.
