00:00West Africa, an exciting and diverse landmass that once provided half of the world's gold.
00:15Gold abundance continues today.
00:21Over the past five years, West Africa has had the fastest growth in gold production in the world.
00:29It is here, in Burkina Faso, in the midst of enormous potential, that Vancouver-based Roxgold Inc.,
00:37a mineral exploration and development company, has chosen to build an impressive gold property portfolio.
00:46Roxgold acquired options to earn 60% interest in three highly prospective gold properties owned by Riverstone Resources,
00:54all strategically located near producing gold mines or gold projects in development.
01:01We took these properties on. The previous operator had done a fair amount of geochemical work and setup work,
01:08so we were able to walk right in and start drilling and got some very high results.
01:13So we're getting it to the point where a resource estimate can happen.
01:17Every time we want to see something, we get it.
01:20And it's drilling through a 500-meter depth on this ore chute from surface to 500 meters,
01:25which is extremely rare for the typical gold deposit. And it's going exceedingly well.
01:30Located 200 kilometers south of Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso, Yaramoko is an exciting 250 square kilometer concession
01:46adjoining the property that hosts Samafo's Mana Gold Mine, with a forecast annual production of 500,000 ounces by 2015.
01:55There's a very large deposit just north of us here, operated by a mid-tier mining company.
02:02And they've got good production and good profitability, but they have to process a lot of tons to get their gold.
02:08We get grades that are exceeding one ounce per tonne as opposed to the typical Burkina Faso gold deposit.
02:16I believe this is perhaps the first deposit of this kind that's been found in Burkina.
02:21So we're quite enthusiastic.
02:29Main targets at Yaramoko are in the Bagasi Central Zone, where an aggressive exploration program led to an incredibly rich discovery,
02:38triggering a local gold rush.
02:40Triggering a local gold rush.
02:45And what we have here is a prospect that we're trying to develop,
02:57so that eventually it reaches the level of mining.
03:02And here we have two big rocks, which are the volcanic rocks and the granite rocks.
03:12And what happens here is that we're in an east-west system, which is very mineralized,
03:22as it happens in most of the mines in Burkina Faso.
03:26But the specific character of our prospect is that we're in a strong tonneur.
03:33It's like you fail a lot of finances.
03:37Bagasi South Zone has also produced some impressive results.
03:41To date, 4,500 meters of core has been drilled in 36 holes at Yaramoko,
03:48with an additional 5,000 meters in progress.
03:52We do have two other properties in the company.
03:55One of them is in the middle of the country called Bisa West,
03:58and it's near gold deposits going into production in a little while.
04:02And we have another property called Seba,
04:04which is over on the eastern part of the country near Niger.
04:12It's been an incredible year.
04:14We started with a market cap of $3 million last October.
04:17Our current market cap is about $135 million.
04:20We had about $1.5 million in the bank last October.
04:24We spent $6 million on exploration.
04:26We spent $33 million acquiring the other 40% of the properties.
04:30So we've had a very busy, successful year.
04:35In July 2011,
04:37the company assumed operatorship of the programs on all properties
04:41and filed a NI-43101 compliant report
04:45on the geology of the Yaramoko, Bubulu and Solna group of exploration permits.
04:52Rocks Gold's objectives include the continuation of its aggressive exploration programs
04:58and the acquisition of new properties to increase its gold portfolio.
05:02For its return on investment, market cap growth, trading volume and analyst coverage,
05:08Rocks Gold was ranked as the top overall performing mining company
05:12in the Toronto Stock Exchange Venture 50 for 2012.
05:20Rocks Gold is also committed to working with local communities by sponsoring Burkina Faso's
05:25first community early childhood teacher training program in the village of Bagasi.
05:30Designed by a retired Montreal school teacher,
05:36the program has gained support from the government of Burkina Faso and UNICEF.
05:44In 2009, Burkina Faso's gold exports totaled 7.8 tons, or 42% of all exports.
05:54That figure increased to 53% in 2010, far surpassing cotton,
06:00the country's number one traditional export.
06:03It's easy to do business in Burkina Faso because you can get any professional employer here.
06:13It's easy also to bring equipment here.
06:17So last year, gold bring to the government $1 billion.
06:24And that's why now the government continues to invite the mining company to come here.
06:33Cotton used to be the first export product in Burkina Faso.
06:38Now it's the gold.
06:40Located in the heart of West Africa's accelerating gold production,
06:46Burkina Faso may soon become the fourth largest gold producer in Africa,
06:51aided in part by Rocks Gold's exciting exploration results.
07:10Now one of the most famous monuments interest in Burkina Faso,
07:13is that the government is going to make the have a better job of one,
07:15and the future of Hä водkina Faso.
07:17Now it's the third blue city to help the street,
07:18the city of Burkina Faso.
07:19Now the new network has gone from a double-edgedfinition event.
