00:00FLPP – Shaping the Future Space Transportation Ecosystem
00:05ESA envisions a future, where reusable, interoperable systems transform how we access
00:12and act in space. With industry, FLPP is shaping Europe's future space transportation ecosystem,
00:19an interoperable and modular way to travel to, in, and back from space.
00:23Reusable launchers deliver payloads to orbit efficiently and sustainably.
00:32Multi-engine propulsion systems ensure reliable ascent and descent phases.
00:43First stages return to Earth, landing securely on platforms to prepare for their next flight.
00:48Reusable components, an essential step toward sustainable space transportation,
00:53support the longevity of the ecosystem.
01:00Lightweight upper stages transport payloads to parking orbits,
01:04where they wait to be transported to their destination.
01:16Once in parking orbit, a space tug arrives to collect the payload. Space tugs are spacecraft
01:22designed to transfer payloads from one orbit to another.
01:28ESA is working with industry to develop advanced docking technologies that enable secure payload
01:34transfers. Space tugs transport their payloads in space up to their intended orbit.
01:40At the center of the ecosystem is Odyssey, an orbital propellant depot where spacecrafts can refill
01:50to extend their operational lifetimes.
01:57With refilling capabilities and advanced in-space logistics, the ecosystem supports continuous missions,
02:04ensuring each component operates as part of the larger integrated hull.
02:13FLPP partners with industry to create an ecosystem where different companies can
02:18easily connect the system to meet their mission's needs.
02:21ESA is enabling Europe's future in space. A unified, interoperable ecosystem that connects every mission,
02:32every payload, every destination.
