00:00Девушки отдыхают...
00:30This is the home opener for the Warriors.
00:31They played in Los Angeles Tuesday and beat the Lakers.
00:34The big news, Doris, for Golden State is that Steph Curry is healthy again.
00:38After missing the end of that playoff series defeat to Minnesota,
00:41he's ready to roll in search of his fifth ring.
00:43Healthy and remains one of the great gravitational pulls on the basketball floor.
00:48The improvisation, the three-point shooting,
00:50and the great counterbalance that is Jimmy Butler.
00:53They are going to be formidable.
00:54On the other side, you've got Nikola Jokic.
00:56Over the last five years, the stretch he's in right now is good as any we've seen in NBA history.
01:01He didn't walk away with an MVP, but a year ago he said he was playing the best basketball of his career.
01:06And when you look at the numbers, it's hard to argue with that supposition.
01:10Three times in the last five years he's won it,
01:13and the other two he's been second.
01:15An incredible run.
01:16An improved bench for Denver,
01:19and a new starter in the starting five with Cam Johnson replacing Michael Porter Jr.
01:26Due to a trade in the offseason with the Brooklyn Nets.
01:29Christian Brown just got a new contract.
01:32Five years, $125 million extension.
01:34And the Golden State Warriors will start the same five they did in the win over the Lakers on Tuesday,
01:42and that includes Jonathan Kaminga.
01:46He was back at the good graces after playing well in the playoffs when Curry got hurt
01:51and played terrific basketball the other night.
01:54Tied a career high and made threes.
01:56And Jimmy Butler III, first full season with Golden State,
02:00came over from the Heat at the deadline last February.
02:03This is the season opener for Denver, a 50-win team last year.
02:17Two seven-game series in the playoffs.
02:20They beat the Clippers in round one,
02:22lost to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder in game seven
02:26in the conference semis on the road.
02:28The Denver Nuggets, the second-shortest odds.
02:30They are tied for the second-shortest odds to win the NBA title.
02:35Obviously, Oklahoma City is the favorite out of the gates.
02:37They are in a dogfight against Indiana tonight.
02:43Jamal Murray, will this be his all-star season?
02:47Either he nor Aaron Gordon have made an all-star game,
02:50although either player is certainly capable of that.
02:52Golden State won 48 games last year.
03:11They were in the play-in tournament.
03:12They won the play-in.
03:14And they were the seven-seed.
03:16They beat the two-seed Houston Rockets in a seven-game series.
03:19And then Curry got hurt game one of the Minnesota series.
03:23He ended up losing the next four games.
03:25And their summer came early.

16:10They're going to count the basket
16:11There was a whistle
16:16From James Williams
16:22They're waiting to hear what the call is
16:34They're going to say count the basket
16:38With a foul on Denver
16:40And it's Golden State ball
16:43Foul on who on Denver
16:48We're waiting
16:50Still no official ruling here
16:57They're saying not just a made basket

22:42Welcome back to Chase Center. I'm here with Denver Nuggets' Christian Brown.
22:45Christian, you're playing in your first game of the season here while the Golden State Warriors are already on their second.
22:51They jumped out to an early lead, but you closed the quarter on a 32-17 run.
22:54What did you all find there?
22:56Yeah, you could tell. They had a game under their belt and we didn't.
22:58We just got to be more physical and have a better start.
23:00Let's talk about the defensive end of the floor.
23:02How does that define what you were all trying to do this season and for the rest of the game?
23:06Be more physical, test your fists a little bit.
23:08That's my job. I started to get the guys involved and get them going on that end.
23:11Christian, thank you so much.
23:12Dave, DB, back to you.
23:13Well, as he just said, it was a slow start, but then the defense picked up there.
23:18And you can clearly see that as Golden State's shooting went way down at the end of the court.
23:22Golden State, that first possession, looked like they showed zone.
23:25Jonas gets himself to the middle of the floor.
23:27Nice and calmly knocks down that mid-range.
23:29Pajemski driving, attacking, and getting the basket.
23:35Brandon Pajemski with his second field goal.
23:40Third-year pro out of Santa Clara.
23:42Really improved last year.
23:45And some big games in the postseason for Golden State.
23:47Hardaway after the flyby for Butler, and Hardaway gets the bounce.
23:52So he and Cam Johnson, a number of reasons they're brought here.
23:57Cam Johnson, excellent defense.
23:58Those two guys did not make a shot from 3-0 for 4 in the first.
24:02Finally, he gets one to go.
24:04They lose Michael Porter by trading him to Brooklyn.
24:08They get Cam Johnson back.
24:10Plays defense.
24:11Good three-point shooter.
24:12Then they add Hardaway, who was a starter with the Pistons last year after their terrific season.
24:17Pajemski, nice stick through and finish.
24:19He's beating Bruce Mack Brown one-on-one on two consecutive possessions.
24:29Pajemski with seven points.
24:30Here's Murray, who has eight points.
24:32He also has three steals and five assists.
24:37Hardaway driving this time.
24:39Missed the lap, and Drayvon Green with the board.
24:41His second.
24:42But he healed on the spot on three.
24:45Golden State, three of 14 from behind the arc.
24:53Nice play by Valanchunas.
24:56Well, I'll tell you what.
24:57They've attacked the two-zone possessions with him in the middle of the floor.
25:00Then he sprints and rim runs.
25:02Nice job.
25:04Pajemski fouled by Watson.
25:06That's Watson's second.
25:08First team foul in the quarter.
25:10Side of the gates here in the second.
25:12Looks like Golden State's showing zone.
25:14So, Jamal just looking.
25:15All right, where is the open spot on the floor?
25:17He finds Valanchunas.
25:19Free throw line.
25:19Jump shot.
25:20And then this.
25:21This very last possession, just a dead sprint down the lane.
25:26The floor is space.
25:27Valanchunas, good little start.
25:29Great execution by Denver.
25:3012 assists on 16 baskets.
25:35Valanchunas, a guy that's been around.
25:37It's his sixth team.
25:39Played on some really good teams.
25:41Got a lot of postseason experience.
25:42Valanchunas can start or come off the bench.
25:46Wouldn't be surprised at some points during the year if we see him and Jokic on the floor together,
25:50which would be really interesting.
25:51Isn't that stylistically?
25:53He's got decent passing skills.
25:56So, you don't have to completely change your system when he's at that five spot for Jokic.
26:01He spent last year with Washington and Sacramento before coming over to Denver this summer.
26:08Shot clock inside at 10.
26:09Murray goes to the left hand and banks it in.
26:11This guy is trying to get off to a great start this season.
26:15He has been a notoriously slow starter.
26:17If tonight's any indication, oh, Jamal, you're here early.
26:21Because we know he's a great finisher.
26:24He made a mistake defensively there and gives up the layup to heal.
26:27But every postseason, Jamal Murray, his numbers go way up in the playoffs.
26:34Finds Valanchunas.
26:35What a feed.
26:36That's six assists now for Murray.
26:38See what I mean about Valanchunas, though.
26:40Just finding open spots on the floor.
26:42Good screener.
26:43Some of the skills of Jokic he brings to the floor.
26:47Denver five of six on the floor this quarter.
26:50Meanwhile, Curry's still on the bench.
26:52Brown trying to save it.
26:53Cannot.
26:53Let's watch Jamal Murray work.
26:58Talked about how well-conditioned he was.
27:00He's healthy again.
27:02Little hesitation.
27:03Waits for that defender to clear.
27:05Now let's just watch him break down.
27:07Buddy healed and then the little drop pass to Valanchunas.
27:10Exactly what you want from Jamal.
27:13Late 12 minutes.
27:14Got 10 points and six assists.
27:19All knocked out of bounds by Denver.
27:20NBA Wednesday doubleheader on ESPN presented by State Farm.
27:24Will start in Boston.
27:25The Celtics taking on the Cavaliers.
27:27And then the Lakers will be in Minnesota to face the Wolves.
27:30Ernie, Kenny, Charles, and Shaq.
27:32Will start it off with NG Tip-off at 6 Eastern time.
27:35As Buddy Heald hits a three for Golden State to make it a five-point game.
27:39Yeah, but, you know, there's a skill to screen it and Draymond Green is sensational.
27:49Nice cut, Brown.
27:51And Valanchunas with a great pass that time.
27:53You see what I mean?
27:54He's not, obviously, the three-time MVP.
27:58But Jonas Valanchunas is somebody that will, from the middle of the floor, make some passes that catch you by surprise.
28:07Excellent screener.
28:09Going to take up space on the defensive end.
28:12And mostly, you are maintaining the lead while Joker gets some valuable rest.
28:17Which is something you touched on earlier.
28:19They've been trying to figure out how to make the most of those non-Jokic minutes, especially in the regular season.
28:26And their depth much better this year.
28:30Kaminga.
28:31Oh, sweet move by Jonathan Kaminga with a kiss.
28:37Back-to-back screens by Draymond Green.
28:41Make those plays happen.
28:44The second one might have been a leap.
28:47Murray with heeled on his hip.
28:51Oh, splits the double post.
28:52Was coming over to hell.
28:53And then Murray gets the stick back off his own miss.
28:56Jamal is cooking early.
29:01And a timeout by Steve Kerr with Denver's lead at seven.
29:07Draymond Green, so many understated things he does.
29:11I'm not sure that's a descriptor that typically applies.
29:14Understated with Draymond.
29:16But there's the first screen.
29:17This was a dead sprint by Buddy Heald.
29:19A little extra at the end of it.
29:22Now, this one might have been questionable, but that's okay.
29:25It's effective number one.
29:29He's like, Denver leading Golden State 46-39 as Steph Curry checks back in for the first time
29:35since the end of the first quarter.
29:38He had three points at eight minutes.
29:42Made his first shot.
29:43Hasn't made one since.
29:45Drives here and kicks to Draymond Green.
29:47A lot of fly.
29:48And now, a three-pointer.
29:51He seems very good this early part of the season, preseason, to shake.
29:56Take those open threes granted him.
29:59That's his first three-point basket, second attempt of the game.
30:07Shot clock inside of ten.
30:10Jokic working on Green.
30:12Tried to feed him underneath.
30:14And that's Jokic's second turnover.
30:16Brown with the strip.
30:31Curry gets it back.
30:32Gives it off.
30:33Harford wide open.
30:34That's good.
30:38Golden State back within one.
30:39Golden State back within one of the first three-point players.
30:42Oh, I'm stepping through.
30:48Great win.
30:49I'm going to open it.
30:55Mike, we're not even three full nights into the new NBA season.
30:59We've already had a month's worth of incredible finishes in the NBA,
31:04including right there with Sheik Yojis-Alexander going off in a thunder ring.
31:08Let's get you caught up on everything that's happened here.
31:10Golden State led 10-0, playing its home opener tonight
31:13after beating the Lakers on the road on Tuesday.
31:16Then Denver came roaring back.
31:18Jamal Murray has 12.
31:19Aaron Gordon 11.
31:20Jokic 9.
31:22Steph Curry just one basket right now for the Warriors, who trail by four.
31:26And Denver getting busy in the paint, particularly in this second quarter.
31:30But I loved early when they go down 10-zip.
31:33No timeout from David Adelman.
31:35He knows he's got Jamal Murray.
31:36He knows he's got Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, veterans.
31:40And then in their response, Steve Kerr doesn't use a timer.
31:44It's the ability to trust your guys to play through a variety of things
31:48when you are a veteran-laden team was on display in this one.
31:52You mentioned David Adelman.
31:54He was the interim coach at the end of last year.
31:56The Denver Nuggets played two seven-game series, lost to Oklahoma City,
32:00the eventual champs in the conference semis.
32:03He's named permanent head coach.
32:05Denver goes out and makes some moves to improve the bench.
32:08Surround Nikola Jokic with more shooting.
32:10They're bringing in Balanchunas as a backup big.
32:12And many feel a real threat to win the championship this season.
32:16Will Richard, a rookie out of Florida,
32:20who's getting early minutes again tonight for Steve Kerr.
32:23And the three from Kamingo, who's really improved his outside shooting.
32:29Which could be a big factor for the Warriors this year
32:31after he was out of the rotation at the end of last season.
32:35Aaron Gordon, another three-ball.
32:37That's his fourth in four tries.
32:39Curry, five assists, made his first shot, 0 for 2 since.
32:46Finds Kamingo again.
32:48Not that time, and Jokic secures it.
32:53Watson got caught in the air.
32:55Spencer Jones cleans it up inside.
32:58Jokic nine points, three rebounds, two assists.
33:03First player in NBA history last year to finish in the top three
33:07and scoring, rebounding, and assists.
33:09His three no good, but a push underneath.
33:12Gordon got shoved by Gary Payton.
33:16So first quarter was a bit of a struggle for Golden State.
33:20Three for 13.
33:22Will Richard is a fearless rookie.
33:25Jonathan Kamingo saves space on the opposite side of the floor.
33:28And then Aaron Gordon, his fourth tonight.
33:30They've left him open a couple of times.
33:32That one he just dances into off the bounce.
33:35Gordon missed 30 games last year due to a calf injury.
33:38When healthy, he played like an all-star for a good part of the year.
33:4244% from three, a career high.
33:44And five for five tonight.
33:47If you're Jokic and you accept that pass in the post,
33:50and you know how well Aaron has played it,
33:52the first thought is, well,
33:53as soon as that second defender steps in my direction,
33:56even half a step, that ball is flying back.
34:00Payton misfire, rebound Jokic, his fourth.
34:02Denver with the two largest lead of the game looking ahead to it
34:06as Gordon hangs, and a blocking foul on Payton.
34:10His second, third team foul.
34:12Let's just watch Jokic, who you understand
34:14is one of the savviest to ever play this basketball game.
34:18The half step by Kamingo.
34:20First of all, he doesn't have to close his shoulders that badly.
34:23He could have dug down with his right hand spread
34:26and sort of, you know, jab step and go back.
34:32First free throw is good for Gordon, and he's got 18 points.
34:36Cam Johnson, a new addition for Denver, checking back in.
34:40He was traded in the offseason for Michael Porter Jr.
34:42with the Nets.
34:46I think he's going to be a great addition.
34:49I think he's a more versatile defender
34:52than Michael Porter Jr.
34:55He's not yet shot it well,
34:56but they tell us the metrics in practice.
34:59It's just a matter of time.
35:00We know he can flat shoot the basketball.
35:06So far tonight, 0 for 2.
35:07Here's Curry.
35:09Finds Payton.
35:10Hangs and finishes.
35:11Another assist for Curry.
35:12That's 6.
35:13And that ends an Aaron Gordon 8-0 personal run.
35:17You know, we know who these systems are about.
35:20Jokic and Curry.
35:21Gary Payton, one of those guys who has understood
35:23how to play off of Stephen Curry.
35:26Just similar to Christian Brown.
35:28Right?
35:29Two guys who intuitively know early.
35:31Well, these are the best players.
35:32Let me figure this out.
35:34It's great to see Curry healthy.
35:36He hurt his hamstring in Game 1 of the conference semifinals
35:39against Minnesota.
35:40Missed the rest of the series.
35:41And the Warriors just didn't have enough,
35:43even with Jimmy Butler.
35:46Curry with a good pass.
35:48Richards 3.
35:49Off target.
35:50Jokic another board.
35:51His fifth.
35:55Brown.
35:56Way to finish inside.
35:58He's got a huge contract extension yesterday.
36:01Five years, $125 million.
36:03Curry.
36:03Missed the three.
36:05He's 0 for his last three.
36:16Jokic setting a mini screen.
36:18Just blocking out defenders so Gordon can get open and hit.
36:22His sixth three-pointer.
36:23Yeah, Kamingo, like, I get it.
36:25Maybe you normally go under, but not when a guy's made five straight.
36:28Jonathan Curry.
36:29And while Curry on the other end with his first two-point basket of the game.
36:34And a late whistle.
36:35A foul to Juan Kamingo.
36:38Fourth team foul.
36:39Second personal.
36:45So maybe on the night Gordon doesn't have his three going, if you're Jonathan Kamingo,
36:50you can dip under.
36:51But to me, on a night where he's shooting like this, his first step isn't to the paint.
36:56His first step is, let me step toward that guy who's made some.
37:00And this is the foul they're complaining about.
37:02Aaron Gordon's selling it.
37:04He basically forces James Williams to make a call here.
37:09Well, Steve Kerr electing not to challenge that.
37:12Three-minute mark, first half.
37:14Jokic lets it fly.
37:15It's going to three for Jokic.
37:17Jokic made a career-best 138 threes last year, shot 42% from three,
37:25had the best year of his career, and didn't win MVP.
37:29That's how good of a year it was for Sheik Gilgis-Alexander.
37:33Jokic has either won the award or has been runner-up each of the last five years
37:38as Al Horford, the newest warrior, inside for two.
37:42Those are two strong dudes and two really smart dudes going at it in the post.
37:47Horford spent the last four years with the Celtics.
37:50Aaron Gordon again, seven of seven from behind the arc.
37:56I mean, dare I say he's making that look stepperless?
38:00Since Mr. Johnson's back in the house at ESPN.
38:0425 points in the first half for Gordon.
38:07Cam Johnson, too strong.
38:09And Kaminga rips it away from Spencer Jones.
38:15Curry was looking at Aaron Gordon like, I'm supposed to do that.
38:19But he comes up short there.
38:21Curry one for five to three.
38:23And a timeout by Denver.
38:26He said he prides himself on being the glue guy.
38:29He's a bit of a renaissance man.
38:30A ton of interest.
38:31Tonight is interested.
38:32Let me put this thing in the basket.
38:34Shoot.

38:46Home opener for the Warriors.
38:47First game of the season for Denver.
38:49And Aaron Gordon back home.
38:51He grew up in the Bay Area.
38:52Our Star Watch brought to you by 1,800 Tequila.
38:55How about that?
38:56Seven of eight from the floor.
38:57Perfect from behind the arcs.
39:0125 points and seven threes.
39:03Both career highs for a single half.
39:05For Aaron Gordon.
39:07Played one season at Arizona.
39:09Top five pick of the Orlando Magic.
39:11Now in year six with the Nuggets.
39:14He got an early start from three in the first quarter.
39:17Two wide open ones.
39:18That set the tenor for the night.
39:20He got comfortable.
39:23Yet to appear in an all-star game.
39:24But this could be the year as Jokic gets it up on the rim.
39:27And we'll go to the line.
39:28Let's check in with Malika Andrews.
39:30Yeah.
39:30Aaron Gordon told me, Dave, that he feels like he's had one of the best offseasons of his career.
39:34Remember?
39:35He suffered that grade two hamstring strain in the playoffs.
39:38And it really hampered him.
39:39And he told me that a big reason that he felt that he was so dialed in this offseason was,
39:44I don't know about you, but my living room, it's decorated with lamps and couches.
39:47His living room is now, it has a regulation basketball hoop.
39:51So he can roll out of bed maybe after he takes a nap.
39:53And he can go get some shots up.
39:55Get some work up.
39:55And he's really felt that that has elevated his game here, Dave.
39:58So that explains the great shooting.
39:59He's doing it all day long.
40:01He's living room.
40:03I don't know exactly where to go with that.
40:05I'm somewhat disturbed by it.
40:07It means he's dedicated to his craft at all costs.
40:15Just like the inside the NBA crew, which is coming up in 90 seconds, Ernie, Kenny, Charles, and Shaft.
40:21Draymond Green draws the foul on Cam Johnson.
40:24Very nearly another assist for Stephen Curry.
40:27Curry's got six.
40:30It'll be Green's first trip to the line.
40:35Draymond Green in year 14, 35 years old.
40:38It's year 17 for Curry, 37 years old.
40:41They had Al Horford, age 39, 19th year.
40:44And, of course, at the trade deadline last year, they acquired Jimmy Butler.
40:47It's year 15 for Butler, age 36.
40:51It'll be interesting to see how Steve Kerr manages the minutes of these bets over the course of the season.
40:56They have a back-to-back tomorrow.
40:57Horford will not play at all in back-to-backs.
40:59He'll play one of the two, and tonight being the one.
41:04I think you could look at how Boston and Joe Mazzu managed Al Horford last season.
41:09Because he was more than ready for the playoffs.
41:11Obviously, they bowed out a little bit prior than they had anticipated.
41:14But Al's performance throughout the course of last season, when he played, you could start him.
41:20You could have him come off the bench.
41:21He was equally brilliant.
41:23Spent the last four years with the Celtics.
41:25Won the championship two years ago.
41:27Shot clock inside of five.
41:30Christian Brown.
41:31And a couple of Warriors just moved away from the ball, but it ends up in the hands of Curry.
41:36Inside a minute to go here in the first half.
41:41Jamal Murray just got his hands up, deflected that out of bounds.
41:45We mentioned we've got halftime presented by Hyundai Palisade with Ernie, Kenny, Charles, and Shaq.
41:52Look forward to getting their thoughts on what Shaq Gilgis-Alexander did tonight.
41:56In that Finals rematch in Indianapolis.
42:00How about the Indiana Pacers?
42:02Just so you understand the kind of effort you're going to get nightly from those guys.
42:09Curry, catch and shoot.
42:10Missed the mid-range.
42:12Curry, three for eight.
42:13Seven points.
42:13Does have the six assists that we touched on.
42:1613-point lead for Denver.
42:19Murray has it blocked.
42:20After Golden State acquired Jimmy Butler, they were the number one defensive team in the NBA last year.
42:26They've given up 70 in the first half tonight.
42:28Get an easy two here from Butler as Jokic hits the depth.
42:32Draymond Green involved on bullpens in that particular instance.
42:35Makes the stop on the defensive end and then the sprint in transition as the facilitator.
42:41One-second difference in the game and shot clocks here at the end of the first half.
42:46It was 10-0 Golden State.
42:49A turnover.
42:50Gordon coughs it off.
42:52Butler on the other end.
42:53Gordon will challenge.
42:55And Butler can't finish with a tip by Peyton.
42:57He's there.
42:59Quick outlet.
42:59Two seconds to go.
43:00Jokic for three at the buzzer.
43:02Back rim, no.
43:03And the Warriors cut the deficit to nine at halftime.
43:09Steve Kerr has given James Williams the business now at the lack of what they feel like should have been a whistle on the other end.
43:17Raymond Green letting the officials know what he thinks as well.
43:2313 points for Jimmy Butler to lead the Warriors.
43:26But 25 for Aaron Gordon.
43:287 of 7 from 3 in the first half.
43:30Denver by 9 at the break.
43:33Don't do this.
43:37Tell you what, boys and girls, if you shake Aaron Gordon's hand right now, you get a third-degree burn.
43:43Dude is 7 out of 7 from 3-point land.
43:47And the Denver Nuggets, who trailed in this game 10-0, lead it 70-61 at the break.
43:55The halftime report is presented by the Hyundai Palisade.
43:59Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny the Judd Smith, and Charles Barkley.
44:04Sir Charles.
44:05Yeah, that's also a championship chunk.
44:08Oh, that's fire.
44:10That's an old one.
44:113, 3, 3.
44:11That's fire.
44:12Hyundai in the moment.
44:13I would say Aaron Gordon has been in the moment.
44:16He's 7 out of 7.
44:16He's got the same number of 3s as the Warriors, who are 7 for 23.
44:22And he's already got the career-high in 3s or tied his career-high in 3s.
44:29Maybe he did it in the first half.
44:30What did you make of his first 24 minutes, man?
44:32You know, I think Aaron Gordon is a perfect player for today's game, where everybody switches
44:39everything.
44:40He can guard in a position, but, well, that's just a wide-open 3.
44:43So, he has really worked on his 3-point shooting.
44:47And he's playing with this guy.
44:49What guy?
44:50The best basketball player in the world right there.
44:53Oh, shake those eyes out?
44:54No, his name is Joker.
44:55He's from Croatia, Serbia, one of those guys.
44:58They're the same.
44:59It's not the same.
45:00They're the same.
45:01They might differ on that.
45:03Okay, all right.
45:04United States, Canada.
45:06Canada, they're all the same.
45:07They're all the same.
45:08But this team, number one, the Warriors still have not addressed their size problem.
45:14The Joker, they have to double the Joker, and Aaron's going to get those shots.
45:18But playing with a guy who's going to pass you the ball, Ernie, it frees you up.
45:23You can ask Kenny, as a point guard, when you – the passing becomes contagious.
45:28Because a lot of guys, and you know this too, they're selfish, and you don't like to play
45:33with them.
45:34But when your best player is not selfish, it's contagious.
45:38You know what?
45:38I'm going to – can I add to that?
45:40I'm going to let Jack go because I don't –
45:41You got to let Jack go.
45:42We can go one, two, back to one.
45:43No, but I don't want to do the pitchers because he said guys are selfish.
45:47As a point guard, I didn't think that.
45:49You know what I used to think?
45:50That guys believe that they can score on anybody at this level.
45:55Right.
45:55So they don't believe that defense dictates the missing.
45:59Did you think the defense made you miss?
46:01I agree with Chuck.
46:02When you got two guys on you and you got to have a guy like you that's open,
46:05make the right play.
46:06Yeah, but I just feel that sometimes they feel like they're great scorers
46:10and they're like, this guy can't really guard me.
46:11Yeah, but, you know, especially if you have a team that's constructed around you.
46:15Like, I look for my B-Shaws, Rick Fox, Big Chop –
46:19Pass is contagious.
46:20It is.
46:20It is.
46:20It's very contagious.
46:22You know, usually when you watch a big man, they're very limited at what they can do,
46:25but not the joker.
46:26Best player in the league.
46:27I agree with Chuck.
46:27Best big man in the league.
46:29Listen, Ernie, this guy can do it all.
46:31Time after time, he impresses me right here.
46:33You know, Pitt can cut a pot, but he rolled to the basket for the high percentage shot right here.
46:38Big guys don't do this.
46:39A lot of them stop.
46:40As a big man, you run right down the middle of the lane.
46:42You seal.
46:43Listen, high percentage buckets.
46:44Right here.
46:47Take your time right here.
46:48You know he's a great passer.
46:50Reminds me of Bill Walton.
46:51What a pass.
46:52Bill Walton, that's a nice name.
46:53And this guy right here.
46:54And look, you leave him open, he can also do this.
46:57Get your hand up, Kamega.
46:58Inside, outside, run the floor, play defense.
47:01This is why he's the best player slash best big man in the game.
47:0449 – or excuse me, 14-7-5.
47:07And we've seen on consecutive nights, you talk about bigs who can do a lot of things.
47:11We saw Wemby last night going for 40.
47:13We were watching the Joker.
47:14Big man is back.
47:15Big man is back.
47:15Yeah, I know we don't have time to run, so –
47:18Come on, do we?
47:19Yes, I do.
47:19Oh, come on.
47:21Shaq, you was trying.
47:22No, I wasn't.
47:23You're too slow now.
47:24You are slow on ESPN.
47:26You got a little tired up here.
47:27TNT used to be fast and quick and nimble.
47:30All these damn wires.
47:31We got a ESPN, you are slow motion.
47:33But you talk about – and he said this, Chuck, this is 100% what you were saying.
47:37The Warriors are just too little.
47:39And when you're too little, all of a sudden, the pick and roll, you freeze it here.
47:42You have Draymond Green in no man's land.
47:45He is not a shot blocker.
47:46He is a defender, but not a shot blocker.
47:49So, all of a sudden, Jokic gets an easy basket.
47:52Again, offensive rebounds because we're small.
47:54Now we get off shots.
47:56Aaron Gordon is on fuego.
47:58So, now he's knocking down shots.
48:00And then, again, you have Valanchunas the same way.
48:03You're too little for the rotation.
48:05It doesn't matter.
48:06So, they're getting those easy baskets.
48:08So, for me, again, Golden State at some point is going to have to address being that small
48:15in a conference with Houston and everyone else being so big.
48:20I don't know why you're so high on the Warriors.
48:23First of all, they're up by nine because my man went for seven for seven.
48:26He's not going to go seven to eight.
48:27I just, listen, the Warriors got a good little team, but they're not one of the four best teams
48:31in the West.
48:32They're close.
48:33I was getting ready to say a certain turn, but not today.
48:36Good.
48:36Okay.
48:37Very good.
48:3759% shooting, by the way.
48:39Yeah, we appreciate that, Aida, boy, in the first half.
48:41Hey, come on.
48:42And they lead it.
48:44Don't pull that out, Aida.
48:45Hey, don't go to the Saints.
48:47Don't go to the Saints.
48:48Slice.
48:49Throw it all away.
48:50That's right.
48:52Jared Rodeo.
48:53Rodeo.
48:54Rodeo.

49:07Back here on the Halftime Report presented by the Hyundai Palisade.
49:19How about the Oklahoma City Thunder?
49:21First team to ever open the season with two double overtime games.
49:25That boy bad, Harry Douglas.
49:29You better have Shane Gilders on that.
49:31That boy bad.
49:32He 55 points bad tonight.
49:35He was.
49:35Career high for SGA as they win it 141 to 135.
49:40Oklahoma City played one overtime game all of last year and lost it.
49:45Two two overtime wins.
49:46That's a lot of – he's taking a lot of shots, though, right?
49:49Yeah, and a lot of minutes, too.
49:50Yeah, a lot of minutes to early this season.
49:56Daddy, you was ignoring me.
49:59I did not hear you.
50:00I'm so sorry.
50:02I like your shoes.
50:03Thank you.
50:04I like the cha-cha.
50:07Hey.
50:09Hey, over here.
50:10Over here.
50:11And they running, fellas.
50:12Get back.
50:15Boom.
50:17Yeah.
50:19I said hi.
50:20Okay, I'm good.
50:21I got you.
50:25Welcome back to NBA Thursday presented by State Farm with Denver leading Golden State 70-61 here
50:32in San Francisco.
50:34Our first-half stats brought to you by Chewy.
50:37Aaron Gordon, a perfect half from three-point range, 7 of 7 from deep.
50:42Jokic outstanding.
50:43Butler, the leading scorer for Golden State.
50:45Steph had 7 and 6 assists.
50:47Dave Pasch, Doris Burke, Malika Andrews as well.
50:49It's crazy enough that Aaron Gordon had the 25 points and 7 threes.
50:53The fact that he did it in a 6-minute span.
50:56Think about that.
50:57Well, think about it.
50:57Denver has been one of the least prolific three-point shooting teams over the last –
51:01Gee, since his team has been together, and yet they have three more threes in that first
51:07half, primarily as Shaq noted because Aaron Gordon went absolutely off.
51:12I would say it would be a highlight reel of shooting and a highlight reel of core defense
51:16from Golden State because they gave him a lot of good looks.
51:18Golden State allowing the Nuggets to shoot 59 percent from three.
51:23Jokic misses a three to start the third quarter, and here goes Curry.
51:27Denver was 10 of 20 from deep in that first half.
51:31Steph Curry, 1 of 5.
51:32He missed his last four after hitting a three to start the game.
51:36Some contact there by Gordon, but I'm just going to say out of bounds, last touch by the Nuggets.
51:42Although Aaron Gordon is saying, I didn't touch it, you should challenge that.
51:45And David Adelman was – he heard the whistle blow.
51:48He was calling for the challenge.
51:50They had already inbounded the ball.
51:52Kaminga is fouled on the drop.
51:55They were going to challenge that, but the ball had already been put in play.
52:00First foul on Jokic.
52:02First foul.
52:03What a warrior.
52:06He was watching Denver operate doors in that first half.
52:09You can tell how much basketball these guys have played together.
52:14Murray, Jokic, Gordon, Brown.
52:19Yeah, I mean, obviously, the two-man game got them settled, right?
52:23They go down 10-zip in the first couple of minutes, and they put the ball in Jamal and Jokic's hands in the middle of the floor,
52:29and all of a sudden, that two-man game, and they're right back in it quickly.
52:33Brown has been impressive to me.
52:35You know, going back to him, a full-time starter for the first time last year,
52:40he just has a savvy ability to read the floor and be opportunistic around the better players.
52:47Fits really well with this group.
52:49Four points in this game.
52:50Jokic on the step through a great pass underneath, and Aaron Gordon with another basket.
52:55Eight for nine overall.
52:5727 points and just nine shots.
53:00And those are the type of baskets we're accustomed to for both of these teams, right?
53:04And those cut layups.
53:16Poczymski puts it on the floor, waving for traffic.
53:18Shot clock at five.
53:19Catch and shoot.
53:20Curry.
53:21It's good.
53:21First threes to...
