00:01Can you address the child that's happy?
00:05I'm going to just help.
00:12I don't want a better than this one.
00:17All right.
00:20What do you want to take a picture?
00:22He's like, I don't like your camera.
00:24Broadcasting and television,
00:28It's definitely odd being on this side of it.
00:32It doesn't count.
00:35So we're not going to feel the American dream.
00:39Cheerful, dancing, fun.
00:43It's a joke.
00:45Where we live, it's like we're right on the gulf.
00:48I am Sergeant First Class Tressa Alaming,
00:51and this is my son.
00:53I'm Specialist Aiden Stackhouse, and this is my mother.
00:56The pros would be, I've deployed and I've been in the military for over 20 years, for 23 years.
01:03I've gone to schools and I've deployed and I've done all of this and left my children behind.
01:09But this time, you know, I got to do something with my child.
01:12I think it's like, it's something that only me and her will understand.
01:16It's a bond that only me and her will have for, I mean, generations.
01:23Because it's such a rare occurrence, both of us being here together.
01:30So it's just, I think it really creates a really strong bond between us.
01:35And we already had a really tight relationship.
01:37So being here is just making it even more substantial.
01:42Every day, not every day is a great day in anything that you do.
01:46But every day I get up here and I, you know, anytime I start, you know, getting homesick or getting anything,
01:52feeling any kind of way, I just, I look around and I think about what we're doing and think about him being just down the road.
01:58And I just find myself grateful.
02:01Just very grateful over and over and over again.
02:04And, but whenever it is time to work, like we both know how it goes and to just get to the grind and work and do what we have to do.
02:14But when we have that free time to see each other, it's, it's a lot more rewarding.
02:31My name is Sergeant First Class Richard Spikes and this is my son.
02:37My name is Corporal Tristan Spikes and this is my father.
02:41The excitement and the nervousness hit me all at one time.
02:45Just being excited to have my son here beside me to mentor him.
02:50I haven't seen him in the last six years.
02:53So just very seldom once or twice a year in the last six years because he was active duty.
02:58So I was very excited to be able to have him here and be with me.
03:03No, it's not tough.
03:04We, we very much like working together.
03:06I know some families, they can pick and bicker with each other.
03:10So, but it means me and my father, we're pretty much similar in a lot of aspects and how we react to people.
03:17So it's very exciting to get to work with somebody very close and we're very, and being similar.
03:23So I think we get along really well.
03:25Before deployment, have those long conversations.
03:29Explain, hey, this is, this is what I see us doing.
03:33This is, this is what we will have to do to try to separate our family life versus our military careers.
03:40And, and sometimes it gets very difficult.
03:43Like you said, it's, we're so much alike.
03:46We, we tend to pick and play a lot.
03:49And so we can't do that once we put these uniforms on a lot of times.
03:53So my best advice to anyone if they're doing this is have long, hard conversations and be honest with each other up front about what your expectations are.
04:03Shown interest in wanting to be in the military.
04:06Uh, I didn't think that we would be serving together like we currently are.
04:10When they found out both of you would be deployed together here in Coastal.
04:15Accelerate your professional life and your personal life.
04:21So my name is Travis Holt and this is my son.
04:24I'm a Trevor Holt.
04:26This is my dad.
04:27I think every parent has that, you know, slight bit of concern in the back of their mind that, you know, my child is now in the military.
04:35You know, what if they get hurt, you know?
04:38Um, but I felt like me being here with him, maybe that would kind of help.
04:45Uh, and I could kind of still look over him as a father.
04:50It's, it's very prideful to me because it's exactly like you said, a lot of my, my friends from school are back home.
04:58No, there's no, there's nothing wrong with working nine to fives and just doing everyday life.
05:03But I do take pride in that I'm doing something that is contributing to a country or its people or, you know, like a mission.
05:10Um, I don't think that you can fully prepare for your child to do, uh, what you do, especially if you're in the military.
05:20Again, you, you, you kind of go back to your roots of being a parent.
05:24So there's, there's really not a lot that I can say to prepare a parent for their child to join the military.
05:31Um, for the people that do get the opportunity to do it, I feel like it's a, it's a great experience.
05:38We've had a lot of fun.
05:39Uh, we get to do fun things together.
05:42We get to fly together.
05:44Um, so, and it's just, it's just something that not a lot of people get to say that they have done with their child.
05:49with their child.
06:02.
06:06.
06:11.
06:15This integrated body is a very good way.
06:17It is an examiner that works with a small part of it.
06:20In this video, you will be able to turn it back to it.
06:23If you don't remember, you can see it on top of the video.
06:25The entire video will be so good.
06:27I am left with a wide range.
06:29It will be very easy to see every time.
06:30Not like it will happen on the road.
06:32It will be a very nice day to see your vai be.
06:33It is acut information and it will be very easy to see your body-like.
06:35I am going to be able to eat from all different aspects.
06:38It will be very nice to see your bodycube.
