00:30Azerbaijan National Urban Forum
00:32brought together around 400 participants
00:35from 64 countries,
00:37among them representatives from public, private
00:40and academic institutions,
00:42as well as civil society.
00:44The main topic of discussion was
00:46how to create climate resilient and healthy cities
00:49through regional partnerships
00:51and innovative solutions.
00:53We started and continue our cooperation
00:56with international partners,
00:58especially planning agencies.
01:02And that helps us to follow global trends,
01:08global standards.
01:10And also it helps because
01:12each of international companies
01:14working in Azerbaijan
01:15always cooperates with at least one
01:18in most of the cases
01:19with few Azerbaijani architects.
01:23So, national, professional capacity is growing.
01:28As urban areas around the world
01:30face growing climate challenges
01:32and public health concerns,
01:34this forum has served as a crucial platform
01:36to explore how innovation and cooperation
01:39can help us build cities
01:41that are more resilient, more livable
01:44and more equitable for all.
01:46It was after the sustainable development goals
01:50that it met those goals.
01:52So, sustainability means as well innovative education.
01:56And when it comes to education,
01:59we wanted children to have the best circumstances
02:02they could have to have a good education.
02:04Azerbaijan is actively aligning its urbanization policy
02:08with international standards.
02:10Large-scale restoration and construction efforts
02:13are underway in the Karabakh
02:15and East Zangazur economic regions,
02:18former conflict areas,
02:20applying smart city and smart village concepts.
02:24There are the easy ways of preserving heritage
02:26by, you know, just keeping it as it is,
02:30securing it, making it a monument,
02:32a museum for people to watch.
02:34But ideally, we would reconstruct the building,
02:37we would put it back to use,
02:39we would adapt it.
02:40Every place is very specific,
02:42especially in the sensitive areas.
02:44For Azerbaijan, the National Urban Forum
02:46is both a starting point
02:48and a road to a larger journey,
02:50the 13th World Urban Forum.
02:53This will focus on some of the most pressing
02:55urban challenges of our time,
02:58from housing affordability and urban resilience
03:01to social inclusion.
03:03There are more than 3 billion people globally
03:06without access to adequate housing.
03:08Speaking about healthy cities,
03:11we definitely consider the issue of housing.
03:15And I'm sure we will continue,
03:17we will be able to continue this discussion
03:19on the World Urban Forum.
03:21Urban Forum is about future,
03:22young people also about future.
03:23And that's why probably one of the main topics
03:27in the World Urban Forum,
03:29which will be in Azerbaijan next year,
03:32is about young generation and young people.
03:37More than half of the world's population
03:39already live in cities.
03:41And the UN predicts this number will reach 68% by 2050.
03:46The urbanization dynamics is very intense,
03:49especially in the regions like Africa and Southeast Asia.
03:55So this growth from 50% to almost 70% urban
04:00will have its heaviest impact in these two regions.
04:05This means almost 2 billion people coming to cities
04:09in the next two decades or so.
04:12The UN Habitat recommends several key actions
04:15to improve urban life,
04:17such as integrated urban planning,
04:19access to basic services and adequate housing,
04:22and stronger urban resilience and climate action.
04:26We created visions, but those visions need to be realized.
04:30And here the collaboration from international
04:34with us to the locals is very important.
04:37Master plans and innovative projects
04:39are shaping a more sustainable
04:41and inclusive urban future across the region.
04:44The UN and Azerbaijan are working closely
04:46in a highly collaborative and co-creational way.
04:50Together they are committed to making this event
04:52more impactful, more effective and truly different.
04:56The UN and Azerbaijan
04:58should bring a better visit
04:59more remote details than online.
05:00And on the university
05:01during the UN and Azerbaijan
05:02the UN and Azerbaijan
05:03しょう of the UN.
05:05And on the outside,
05:06the UN and Azerbaijan
05:07the UN.
05:08And in the outside,
05:09the UN and our investment
05:12will be doing the same thing.
05:13It is a significant,
05:14the UN and our investment
05:16inside that point.
05:18And when we stick playing
05:20and we bring the UN and our website
05:21to ensure that more people
05:23are living in their lives,
