00:00Third-grade reporters didn't see it because they didn't look.
00:03You're a third-grade reporter. Always have been.
00:05So third-grade reporters didn't look, but anybody that asked,
00:09these pictures have been in newspapers.
00:13They've been all over the place, and, you know, we're very proud of it.
00:16It's gotten great reviews. It's gotten really great reviews.
00:21I think we've been more transparent than anybody's ever seen.
00:30Just changing this topic slightly, I see you've got the model of the White House and the ballroom.
00:48Many people were surprised the entire East Wing is being demolished,
00:52because you had said initially that the ballroom would just touch or would not touch.
00:55Yeah, well, certain areas are being left.
00:59We determined that after, really, a tremendous amount of study
01:03with some of the best architects in the world,
01:05we determined that really knocking it down, trying to use a little section.
01:09You know, the East Wing was not much.
01:12There was not much left from the original.
01:14It was, over the course of a hundred years, it was changed.
01:18The columns were removed, and it was a much different building.
01:21Then a story was added on in 1948, 1949.
01:25There was a story added on, which was not particularly nice.
01:29And the building was very, very much changed from what it was originally.
01:33It was never thought of as being much.
01:35It was a very small building.
01:37And rather than allowing that to hurt a very expensive, beautiful building that,
01:42frankly, they've been after for years, you have that.
01:44I brought these along so people could see.
01:46But it's, you know, there's a relative — nobody's actually seen anything quite like it.
01:55I think it'll be one of the great ballrooms anywhere in the world.
01:59It's about $300 million.
02:01It's set to do many, many things, including meetings of foreign leaders,
02:05including the honoring of foreign leaders.
02:07You can see this.
02:09This is a plan, if it's got tables, so that you honor a foreign leader.
02:16We have a proper space.
02:17Right now, we have a space that, with tables, holds about 79 people.
02:21And this is a proper kind of a thing.
02:24Now, what the White House was doing, as you know, is they were putting tents out on the lawn.
02:28This is an interior shot of the ballroom.
02:32I think there'll be nothing like it.
02:34And it's being paid for 100 percent by me and some friends of mine, donors, to it.
02:39The government is paying absolutely nothing.
02:42We're also working with the military on it,
02:44because they want to make sure everything is perfect.
02:46And the military is very much involved in this.
02:48They want to make sure everything is absolutely beautiful.
02:51You can see the kind of interiors that we're talking about.
02:54That's an interior of the ballroom.
02:56And it's the highest level.
02:58And, you see, it goes beautifully with the White House.
03:01I mean, the mix is beautiful.
03:03So, over the years, many Presidents have made changes.
03:06This, obviously, would be the biggest change.
03:08But this was something they've wanted for at least 150 years.
03:13Many of you have gone to the events where they had, as an example, President Xi,
03:19or they had, you know, a leader of one of the countries,
03:22including the king and the queen from your favorite country.
03:25Absolutely.
03:26Frankly.
03:27But where they'd be honored, and they'd be in a tent out on the lawn,
03:30and it would rain, and it was a disaster.
03:32Brian's shaking his head, you know what I'm talking about.
03:34And so, I thought I'd bring this out, because this is going to be
03:40probably the finest ballroom ever built.
03:42And we're doing it.
03:44No cost to the country.
03:45It's being put in.
03:46The money is being put in by me and donors.
03:48Very great patriots, actually.
03:51And the spirit on the building of it is amazing.
03:55We are using little sections of footings and various other things,
03:58but that's sort of irrelevant.
04:00In order to do it properly, we had to take down the existing structure.
04:04The way it was shown, it looked like we were touching the White House.
04:07We don't touch the White House.
04:08That's a bridge, a glass bridge, going from the White House to the ballroom.
04:11Then you get into the lobby of the ballroom.
04:14And then you go into the Magnificent, the main room.
04:17And it's something that has gotten incredible reviews.
04:21And your question, just quickly follow-up on that question.
04:26I just want a quick follow-up on that question.
04:29Your response to people who say that you haven't been transparent enough about this.
04:33I haven't been transparent?
04:35Really?
04:36I've shown this to everybody that would listen.
04:39Third-grade reporters didn't see it because they didn't look.
04:42You're a third-grade reporter, always have been.
04:45So third-grade reporters didn't look.
04:47But anybody that asked, these pictures have been in newspapers.
04:52They've been all over the place.
