L'isola dei cani: intervista all'animatrice Kim Keukeleire [Comicon]
Trascrizione
00:28So I knew that he was trusting me and he knew that I was understanding what he wanted already on Fox.
00:35So it was easy for me to work with him and the process was a bit the same but because he learned so much on Mr Fox,
00:46he improved the way to direct animators because it's really different from a directing actor.
00:53It's not completely different because he treated us a bit like his actors but he improved the way that also the way he wanted things to be moving,
01:06the way the character should be acting and I think it was a nice process.
01:14So he allowed us and him to go even further than what he's done on Mr Fox I think.
01:25And what was the most challenging thing for you as a lead animator about making a movie like Isle of Dogs?
01:35The challenging thing was more because as a lead animator you receive the most important sequence.
01:47So the sequence that's really difficult not because of the action but more because of the acting.
01:54And so some sequence were really difficult because also the dogs were really small and the eyes were really small and usually the acting goes a lot through the eyes.
02:04And so that was difficult and also because the dogs they don't have hands or they're not humanized like on Mr Fox where they could speak with the hands,
02:17they could act and they were walking on two legs.
02:22On Isle of Dogs you will see it's a real dog so that was a bit of new things to work with.
02:32You worked on many different projects but there is one of them that is most precious to you. What is your favorite?
02:41The one I worked, my favorite is probably one of West's films.
02:46I think I like his creativity and the fact that he's not obsessed with the traditional animation style.
02:58He's really open to new ideas and new form of animation and new form of movement.
03:05And because also we build a trust I think it's really nice to work with him also in that way.
03:12And yeah I like his films anyway.
03:17One last question. It's not animation related. It's just a curiosity of mine.
03:26In the interview, like the dog interview clip, there's a line, a sentence that says the heart of a dog is a bottomless thing.
03:38I would just like a comment from you. Do you agree?
03:43Yeah I think I completely agree because I think animal doesn't have a, they don't do something to receive something back.
03:54I think a dog if he loves you, he loves you and he's really unconditional love, well he loves the food mostly.
04:01So he's going to do anything to get some food and there's no petty things I think going in the dog's mind I think.
04:12Okay, thank you.
04:13You're welcome.
