00:12I've always wanted to make an animated movie set in Korea

00:15that really showcased our culture and our mythology.

00:19I thought Demons would be visually spectacular in an animated movie

00:23and that led to Demon Hunters

00:25and K-pop was the last ingredient in the concept.

00:30And I said, please, let me make this movie with you

00:32because I love all those things.

00:38K-pop Demon Hunters is about a girl group who are world famous

00:42and they are secretly Demon Hunters.

00:44Don't worry, it's totally legit.

00:47Huntrix is composed of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey

00:50and they use music and song and dance

00:52as a way to protect the world from this demon threat.

00:55Yeah!

01:04Arden Cho's voice as Rumi, she just sounded perfect.

01:06Rumi slays demons, sings, is gorgeous, has killer fashion sense.

01:12I love her luscious purple hair.

01:14She's edgy and hip, but still kind of girly.

01:18Look, I'm kind of a difficult person.

01:21Mira is a skeptic, rebellious, sarcastic.

01:30If only I could smash her demon face in right now.

01:34Mira, that character has a chip on her shoulder

01:36and it's just fun to have that flavor.

01:38So everything about her look was kind of driven

01:40by that slight desire to provoke.

01:42Yeah, she's our role model.

01:44We're here for Zoey!

01:45Look too large, try to paint both sides.

01:49Zoey is the maknae of the group,

01:51so it's her professional obligation to be the cutest

01:54and the most energetic.

01:56She's cute and bubbly and adorable,

01:58and so we wanted to give her these little buns

02:08We have the most costume looks of any animated movie

02:12that's ever been made.

02:15One of my favorite things about making this movie

02:17was making girls act like real girls

02:19and not just pristine superheroes.

02:23When it comes to demon hunting and music making,

02:25they all have their role,

02:26and it comes together in a magical way.

02:30Dima is our big bad.

02:35He is the voice in all our heads,

02:37and the Saja boys, they are a demon boy band.

02:41It almost seems like they're nice demons.

02:44Demons are never nice.

02:48They seduce people with their voice and looks,

02:51stealing souls to gain their power.

02:55We hate the Saja boys,

02:56but darn them for being so cute.

02:58Listening to the Saja boys song,

03:01everyone was humming it.

03:02They can make hearts out of thin air?

03:05Soda Pop is incredibly catchy,

03:06and Zoey's having a hard time fighting the feeling.

03:11Wow, it is catchy.

03:13Getting to have fun with the boys,

03:15just making them super hot.

03:17That one's always looking at me.

03:18No, we're not.

03:19How do we light these abs

03:21so that we can really enjoy them?

03:23So hot.

03:26What does it feel like?

03:28We really wanted to immerse the world in K-pop,

03:31but also stay authentically Korean.

03:34The opportunity to represent Korean Americans,

03:37that's important.

03:38Seeing it all together, it just touched me.

03:40It pays so much homage to the Korean culture,

03:44from the food, the streets in Gangnam.

03:46Everything is so perfect.

03:56We became students of K-pop,

03:58the skill of the music, the performers, the look.

04:00It takes incredible talent and expertise to do that.

04:07There's a really great ecosystem and Korean talent

04:09all coming together to create something very unique.

04:13It is so cool that TWICE is covering one of our songs.

04:16It really legitimizes our movie in the K-pop space,

04:31in melding the worlds of K-pop and action and music

04:36and drama.

04:37It's addictive and catchy.

04:42We got it all.

04:44And we look so cute in it.
