‘Lovely, down to Earth, personable…’ Vanessa Williams reveals what King Charles is really like

Vanessa Williams has been living in London for two years and says the highlight so far has been meeting King Charles.

00:29fantastic yeah so how have you like adjusted to living in london do you like it i do yeah i've been

00:35here for almost two years yeah what's your highlight would you say highlight um the highlight

00:41probably i mean meeting king charles would probably be i did the uh royal variety show

00:49last year and after we got a chance to meet him so that was you know what was he like

00:54pretty um really lovely down to earth personable one-on-one yes absolutely and obviously you're

01:01actually living in the state so how are you coping with like obviously i'm sure you're probably in

01:05touch with on like facetime and stuff but do you feel quite with my family yeah like emotional about

01:11um you know not seeing them all the time and being with them um i think they travel to me and i've

01:17traveled back a couple times so yeah and facetime is the best absolutely absolutely yes one thing

01:22what are you going to do when you go back to the states what do i do the next thing i'm going back

01:27next um month i'm on the producing team for two strangers carrying cake across new york yeah and

01:33uh so we have our opening night on november 20th and uh after that i'll do a quick thanksgiving

01:38weekend with my kids oh that's so lovely do some cooking in my in my uh in my kitchen yeah

01:43absolutely and just one before i let you go obviously the the run of the dead west pride

01:49effects have into april next year how you how do you get through all the shows each night because

01:53it must be quite quite eight shows a week you just get used to it you know uh you do like do you do

02:00like something to help you get through it or you mean like caffeine for sure i wasn't gonna say

02:06yes i have a double tea bags in my tea all the time what are some of your rituals before performing

02:12what would you say i always play music um do my own makeup which we have to um my dog is with me so

02:20he's by my side and uh and then chat gossip find out what's going on with everybody in the cast
