Oda a los Andes Works for voice and guitar from Bolivian manuscripts
Rafael Montero (tenor) and Fabio Fernandes (guitar)
The world première of songs from newly discovered Bolivian manuscripts by the excellent but little know Bolivian composer Pedro Ximénez Abril y Tirado (1784-1856). This music was played in the 19th century salons of Bolivia, and brings to light a previously unknown chapter in the history of Latin American classical music. PXAT was the most prolific composer of the times, and was once called "The Mozart of the Andes". He was a guitarist, and also wrote many solo guitar pieces, some of which will be included in the concert. Not only panpipes were played in the Andes! support us with a donation: https://donate.stripe.com/dR6dRv2I1aJvcSc14h
