00:46with nothing let's do a rave in that big old warehouse over there and get 5 000 people in there
00:51underground illegal free warehouse spaces outdoor we met these travelers at glastonbury 1990 and it
01:04just clicked that pivotal glastonbury changed a lot it was sort of a life-changing moment there
01:09was a free festival circuit the existing traveling community would would do every year each festival
01:13more and more ravers were coming in it was a real eye-opener seeing this whole other subculture ravers
01:19and the travelers crossed over and that whole thing grew and grew and you could dance the night
01:23away under the stars and no one's going to fucking stop you ecstasy and the ravers reinvigorated the
01:28whole free festival scene i could see why the press got hold of it new age travelers not in this age
01:35not in any age things started to happen when the police were becoming aggressive and seizing equipment
01:42the riot police come and smash through the wall of the party with a jcb and then came in to whack us
01:48it was absolutely shocking they were following us around with helicopters we were being watched the
01:53new age travelers and rave party goers as you get the army or as a change in the law may be needed
01:58people on site at the present time it is now a containment operation chipping somebody one year
02:03was 3 000 people aim of a vessel next year it was castle more from the air the sheer scale of the
02:08invasion of the common can be seen achieving the dubious record of being britain's largest ever illegal rave party
