00:01Join Kids Hut family.
00:14Tia, today I am very happy.
00:19I met one of my friends who was acting all greedy and selfish in class.
00:25So I told him the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
00:31And he soon understood the lesson.
00:34Really Tofu?
00:38I haven't heard this one.
00:40I would love to hear it from you.
00:48The Pied Piper of Hamelin
00:51Once upon a time, there was a town named Hamelin.
01:03The town was beautiful, bustling with energy and wealth.
01:08But no sooner, the happiness of the town was ruined by a plague.
01:20Plague of Rats
01:22There were rats everywhere.
01:34So much so that the people of the town
01:37didn't even have a place to keep a step without tripping over the rats.
01:42There were rats of every size, shape, every age and color.
01:53Nothing worked as a remedy.
01:57Not even the cats were able to control the plague of rats.
02:01Giving up, the authorities decided to announce a reward of ten bags of gold
02:18to anyone who could help to get rid of the rats.
02:22One day, a strange looking man came to the town.
02:30He was dressed in the traditional dress but all red in color.
02:36With a long peculiar nose and big wide eyes,
02:42he adorned his head with a feather in his hat.
02:46He went to the authorities and said,
02:55Ah, I have a solution for your problem.
03:00I assure you that not a single rat would live in this beautiful town.
03:08But I want ten gold bags that you have promised as prize.
03:13The authorities were not very sure of his commitment
03:18but still allowed him to give it a try
03:21as they had no other option.
03:26Soon, the strange looking man took out a pied piper from his pocket
03:32and started playing a very strange tune.
03:37Within no time, all the rats started coming out and following him.
03:51From every nook and corner of the town,
03:54so many rats came out
04:00that the whole street was filled with them.
04:03Very strangely, the rats started following the pied piper
04:16who was playing the strangest tune ever heard.
04:20The pied piper took them to the town's river and entered into it.
04:38In no time, all the rats mesmerized by his tune fell into the river and drowned.
04:57There were rejoices in the town, celebrations all over.
05:01Soon, the pied piper went to the authorities to claim his prize money.
05:17But since their work was done and they thought that this plague would never return,
05:23they shunned him off and asked him to leave without giving him a single penny.
05:30What selfish people are these?
05:33I did them a favour, freed them from such a bad epidemic
05:38and all they could care was to be greedy and ungrateful.
05:42Now look how I will teach these selfish people a lesson.
05:51The pied piper took out his pipe once again
05:55and started playing another strange tune.
05:58A tune that no one had ever heard before.
06:17In no time, all the children of the town mesmerized by the music
06:23started following the pied piper.
06:25The children were so lost in his tune that they didn't realize that they have come out
06:39to the outskirts of the town.
06:41The pied piper took them to a cave.
06:57And let them in.
06:58He kept playing the tune till all the children were inside the cave.
07:06He then closed the cave with a huge stone.
07:14Only two kids were left in the entire town.
07:17A boy who was hard of hearing and a girl who had hurt her legs so badly
07:25that she couldn't keep up the pace with the rest of the kids.
07:29These two kids went back.
07:41And told their parents about the pied piper
07:44and how he lured all the children into the cave.
07:48Soon, the authorities went begging to the pied piper
07:57and requested him to let their children out.
08:01This time, they promised to reward him with twenty gold bags.
08:06I don't trust you any longer.
08:09I want my prize money beforehand.
08:13Soon, he was handed over his prize money.
08:18And he left never to be seen again.
08:23The children were freed from the cave.
08:30And the parents hugged them and cried.
08:35Watching this, the authorities said,
08:38We surely have learnt a lesson.
08:41This man came out of nowhere and saved us from an epidemic.
08:47All that we did in return was to be selfish and ungrateful.
08:52He surely taught us a lesson of not to be greedy and selfish.
08:59That night, the town rejoiced and celebrated like a festival.
09:08If you ever go and listen carefully,
09:12you might hear the beautiful sound of the pied piper.
09:23Tofu, I am so proud of you.
09:27You must be a little naughty.
09:29But you surely are a good boy.
09:32And you are a little naughty boy.
09:36Ha ha ha..
09:38We'll see you next time.
