We’ve got our hands on a Mercedes-AMG GT R, and it’s going up against a Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder! The thing is, while the Lamborghini is totally standard, the team at Pure Tuning has gone to town on the GT R’s engine! So which will come out on top? Let’s take a closer look at the contenders…
First up, let’s check out the Lamborghini. It’s powered by a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10, and this creates 610hp and 560Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch, and it tips the scales at around 1600kg. As of today, the car is worth around £170,000.
Next up it’s the AMG GT R. Following the tune to its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 it now produces 756hp (up from 585hp) and 1,120Nm, and this is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch. It’s the lighter of the two cars, weighing in at 1,550kg.

00:45with launch control. The car weighs in at 1550 kilograms and is worth about a hundred thousand
00:51pounds including all those definitely not cheating upgrades. The Lamborghini Huracan Evo rear wheel
00:57drive Spyder has a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 that puts out 610 horsepower and 560 newton meters

01:38because I'm going to need good traction because while that Lamborghini is rear wheel drive only it's
01:42got its engine in the middle so it's got more weight over the rear axle and those things launch the
01:46gearboxes in those. The seven speed dual clutch in those. Yeah I think it's better than the dual
