00:00Moving on to a topic that's very close to your heart is the war in Ukraine.
00:04During your time as Prime Minister, you were the first world leader to visit Ukraine.
00:07You led what's now dubbed the Coalition of the Willing.
00:10What in your mind does peace ultimately look like in Ukraine?
00:15I hope that peace will look like, I don't know what the exact geography of Ukraine will be.
00:22I hope that Russia will get out of as much as possible.
00:25They can be persuaded to withdraw as much as possible.
00:28I mean, it's pointless holding on to this land.
00:31They'll have to spend a huge amount of money remediating it, investing in it.
00:35They're better off out of it.
00:37But I hope it will involve a free, sovereign, independent Ukraine.
00:42That's the most important thing.
00:45And I think it will.
00:48And the faster we get to that solution, the better.
00:51And we need to speed up because this war has been going on for three and a half years.
00:56And as Donald Trump rightly says, too many people are being killed.
01:01And it can end.
01:02It should end.
01:04And, you know, I would do several things to bring it to an end as fast as possible.
01:09I would, number one, I would take that.
01:11Here's $300 billion of Putin's money frozen in a bank account called Euroclear in Brussels.
01:18Maybe, you know, the biggest chunk is in that bank account.
01:23That money could be taken unfrozen and given to the Ukrainians in advance as a down payment
01:30on the bill the Russians will have to pay for reparations.
01:36You know, and that would be huge.
01:39Let's see, that's a serious amount of money for Ukraine.
01:42$150, $200 billion.
01:43You know, $300 billion.
01:44That would sort them out for at least two years, right?
01:48Putin would look at that and think, ah, God, I've got to keep fighting for two more years.
01:52Putin's economy is, you know, not looking good right now.
01:56Number two, the weapons that the Ukrainians have, they should be given the permissions
02:01to send those weapons to take out the Russian bases.
02:04You know, Putin's bombing Ukrainian cities every night with drones, with missiles.
02:09They're coming from these bases in Russia.
02:11The Ukrainians should have the permission to take out those bases
02:13and do more to take out the Russian oil refineries.
02:18Number three, I think that we need to be doing more to crack down on the shadow fleet.
02:26You know, Putin's got all these oil tankers that are breaking the sanctions.
02:31Putin's, you know, I mean, something should happen to them to stop this.
02:37I would, you know, stay within the law.
02:40You tell people on board the boats that their time's up, they must get off,
02:44but then they should, we should stop this.
