Family refuses to give up as search continues for the missing after Mexico flood
Relatives of two people missing after a landslide and catastrophic flooding in Huachinango, Mexico gathered at the disaster site on Tuesday, October 14, urging authorities to continue search efforts for a 39-year-old man and his 41-year-old wife, whose home was buried under mud.
Leticia Gayosso, sister of the missing man, said her family refuses to give up hope of recovering the couple’s bodies. She added that they long for a proper grave where they can mourn and remember them.
The landslide, triggered by heavy rains, swept away five homes and claimed the lives of an entire family, according to local testimonies.
