00:00An exhibition in Berlin depicts Hamas's attack on the NOVA Music Festival on October 7th, 2023.

00:10At 6.29am, the music stopped, drowned out by rockets, gunfire and panic.

00:16Roy Dray was at the festival with friends.

00:20The rockets just kept going for a while, more than usual.

00:24I remember looking at the sky and seeing all the lines from the smoke of the launches.

00:30Of the rockets, and there were so many of them, dozens.

00:33And we had to run from terrorist shooting at us.

00:37What I had in my mind in those moments is looking at my brother and having eye contact with him to know he's fine.

00:46And he looked at me and I'm fine and we are coming home alive.

00:51There is no other way for us.

00:53He managed to escape with his brother and drive back to their hometown of Beersheva,

00:59but not everyone in his group of friends made it.

01:03I had a responsibility on me to the families of my friends because I got to tell them the story of how I'm here

01:11and their sons that I was with in the festival are not.

01:15Ariel Barok from Tel Aviv lost his sister Anita and her boyfriend Segev that day.

01:21Contact with them was lost at 7.30am.

01:23It took a while for us to understand what happened.

01:26We discovered it through a video clip on Telegram.

01:30In this video we saw Anita and Segev shot dead in their car.

01:35What helps him now is talking about the loss of his sister.

01:38You know Anita, you can see she and Segev, they were like very happy people, always smiling.

01:46And for me, waking up each day, trying to do my best to live life to the fullest

01:54and always smile because this is her will and this is what keeps me on going.

01:59The exhibition pays tribute to the return of the last living hostages,

02:0411 of whom were kidnapped from the Nova Festival.

02:07The day of their return marks a turning point.

02:11I think it's a real mark in our lives as a community.

02:17For us it's October 8th because October 7th was two years ago, now it's October 8th.

02:22We can have more room now to breathe, we can have more room now to concentrate in the healing journey

02:28and to tell the friends that I lost story because this is what I want to do for their families

02:34and for them and my own way to keep them alive in some way.
