Big news for Indian students and travellers! Germany has officially agreed to waive visa fees for short-term academic exchanges under the new India–Germany “gratis visa” agreement.

This means Indian students attending summer schools, exchange semesters, internships, or cultural programs in Germany can now apply without paying the standard €75 (≈ ₹6,700) visa fee.
The change applies to short-term academic visits — long-stay student visas for full-degree programs are not included.

✅ More opportunities for academic mobility
✅ Lower costs for Indian exchange students
✅ Stronger Indo–German education ties

📅 Announced by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, this initiative aims to boost collaboration between the two countries’ universities.
