00:00So, how I co-wrote Touch My Body with Mariah Carey. This song is super cool

00:05because it kind of got started. It's like a multi-layered situation. It got

00:09started here in Atlanta with Mariah and The Dream. They kind of started the idea.

00:14Then Mariah and I were in Florida and we were working on about seven or eight

00:19different songs and at the end of this span of a couple of days of us writing

00:24records she was just like, hey I got this this track that you know we started in

00:28Atlanta maybe we could finish that one too and it was literally like the last

00:31the last song that we worked on and so she plays it for me and it's a whole

00:36bop you know and the cool thing is working with Mariah first of all we were

00:41working on the beach okay and I remember my mom called she was like what are you

00:46doing I was like sit on the beach she's like I thought she was working I was

00:49like I am working darling the Atlantic Ocean is my office it's Mariah darling so

00:55anyway we started writing some of the words to to the song and as we're

01:01writing we're literally looking around and it's like the wind is blowing so if

01:05you listen to it and the second verse it says I want you to caress me like a

01:09tropical breeze and all of that is because literally life was happening and

01:13we're just writing writing life the super cool part about it is years later

01:19someone sent me a video of the Queen Aretha Franklin like covering it at her

01:25concert and she's just talking about how much she loves the song and even now

01:28that video is still kind of circling around people are still sending it to me

01:31and so I never got to work with the Queen but it's an honor that I was a part of a

01:36record that she sang on her show so yeah that is how I co-wrote touch my body with

01:42Mariah Carey
