00:13K-pop Demon Hunters is about a girl group who are world famous and they are secretly demon hunters.
00:19Don't worry, it's totally legit.
00:22Huntrix is composed of Rumi, Mira and Zoey and they use music and song and dance as a way to protect the world from this demon threat.
00:32Why are you in your new costume?
00:34We have the most costume looks of any animated movie that's ever been made.
00:41One of my favorite things about making this movie was making girls act like real girls and not just pristine superheroes.
00:47When it comes to demon hunting and music making, they all have their role and it comes together in a magical way.
00:58Pima is our big bad. He is the voice in all our heads and the Saja boys, they are a demon boy band.
01:07It almost seems like they're nice demons.
01:09Demons are never nice.
01:10Demons are never nice.
01:14They seduce people with their voice and looks, stealing souls to gain their power.
01:20We hate the Saja boys, but darn them for being so cute.
01:24Listening to the Saja boys song, everyone was humming it.
01:28They can make hearts out of thin air?
01:30Soda pop is incredibly catchy and Zoey's having a hard time fighting the feeling.
01:35Mami, control the shoulders.
01:37Wow, it is catchy.
01:38Getting to have fun with the boys, just making them super hot.
01:43That one's always looking at me.
01:44No, we're not.
01:45How do we light these abs so that we can really enjoy them?
01:50So hot.
01:53We really wanted to immerse the world in K-pop, but also stay authentically Korean.
01:58The opportunity to represent Korean Americans, that's important.
02:04Seeing it all together, it just touched me.
02:07It pays so much homage to the Korean culture.
02:10From the food, the streets in Gangnam.
02:13Everything is so perfect.
02:15Happy fans.
02:16We hold up.
02:17We became students of K-pop, the skill of the music, the performers, the look.
02:27It takes incredible talent and expertise to do that.
02:30There's a really great ecosystem and Korean talent all coming together to create something very unique.
02:38It is so cool that TWICE is covering one of our songs.
02:42It really legitimizes our movie in the K-pop space, which is really awesome.
02:45K-pop Demon Hunters is really so special in melding the worlds of K-pop and action and music and drama.
03:03It's addictive and catchy.
03:06There's funny parts, there's sad parts, there's action.
03:09We got it all.
03:10And we look so cute in it.
03:11This is what it sounds like.
03:15Ji Young, she's so adorable.
03:17She's super talented.
03:18Whoa!
03:19She's so good, right?
03:21She brought a lot of depth to Zoey's character.
03:26Zoey is probably closest to my personality of any character I've played so far.
03:30I do have one idea.
03:32Just one?
03:33Actually 57, but let's start with my favorite.
03:36She's the only Korean American in the group.
03:39And I think Zoey is really trying to figure out what that means and where she belongs.
03:43Rumi and Mira, they're Zoey's cooler older sisters.
03:46So Zoey is always trying to impress them.
03:49What?
03:51I'm not like that.
03:52You guys would tell me if I was really like that, right?
03:55She just really loves and cares about them all the time.
03:58I like them so much.
03:59They're so cool.
04:01You guys just mean so much to me.
04:03Can we get photos of us three together?
04:15They're stealing the souls of our fans?
04:18Arden was such a find.
04:19I feel like Rumi's a really hard character because in the voice performance you have kind of a public side of yourself that needs to be charming and real.
04:27We love you!
04:28We love you too!
04:29We love you too!
04:30In a private side where you see this person's vulnerability and their shame, it takes real chops.
04:36And we're lucky to find somebody who could pull it off.
04:39I relate so much to Rumi.
04:44Growing up in America, I wanted to look totally different.
04:47I wanted to have blonde hair and blue eyes and that was what was beautiful.
04:52I always felt like being Asian or looking the way that I did was something to hide.
04:58To be a part of a film like this where Rumi is Korean and part demon, part hunter.
05:05All of this is what makes her truly special and amazing.
05:10This movie was so meaningful and I hope that girls growing up like me wouldn't think I want to be someone different, but that they would want to be who they are.
05:20You know what this means.
05:21It's time to release the song.
05:23Yes, it's finally time!
05:27It's so good!
05:28We fell in love with Mei's voice from the very beginning and then when we met her, we were like, oh my goodness, you really are Mira.
05:42Yeah, that's right.
05:44She's super cool and she also has this warm side and a very silly side of her that we were able to draw out.
05:51I'm gonna throw up.
05:55It felt like they really had written a different version of me and that was remarkable.
06:01It's my first voiceover job ever, so I've had the most fun realizing that you can't fake sounding out of breath and so running around for a while and then stopping in front of the mic and grunting or screaming.
06:13Or pretending to cut a demon in half is pretty fun.
06:24During the eating parts, it's really hard to fake eat or make it sound like you're eating, so I would stuff my mouth and talk with food in my mouth.
06:33I need like 10,000 calories to get to the core.
06:351,000%.
06:36A gajillion percent.
06:37The film is reflective of the spirit of K-pop.
06:49Everyone is styled.
06:51Everyone's perfect.
06:53These women are not afraid to embrace their beauty and their gentleness and their kindness, but they also kick butt.
06:59I just really, really hope everybody watches this movie because it's so freaking good and I really think it's the best.
07:10Oh, that's so sweet.
07:13Kill the demon!
07:15Ow!
07:17It is annoyingly catchy though.
07:19It is annoyingly catchy.
07:21It's infectious.
07:23My little soda pop.
07:24It's catchy.
07:25My little soda pop.
07:27My little soda pop.
07:29My little soda pop.
07:31Whoa, that's sounding good.
07:33To learn on TikTok.
07:35Oh my gosh, please.
07:36Actually, someone teach us a TikTok dance so we can be like, my little soda pop.
07:41Yeah!
07:42Totally!
07:44They can make hearts out of thin air.
07:46They're magicians!
07:48I mean demons, obviously demons.
07:51Can I use it once from the beginning then?
07:52Just so we get that beat into it.
07:53Yes, yes.
07:54A demon's a demon.
07:55We kill them.
07:56It doesn't look like they're gonna hurt anyone.
07:58It almost seems like they're nice demons.
08:01Demons are never nice!
08:04I saw me.
08:06It's okay guys, we're only on set.
08:07Doesn't have to be perfect.
08:08We're only recording.
08:09We're only recording.
08:11Teach us the takedown choreo.
08:14Oh my gosh!
08:15Yes!
08:16They're demons!
08:17They're demons!
08:18They're demons!
08:19They're demons!
08:20They're demons!
08:21We'll write a brand new song.
08:22A diss track to...
08:23So it's those...
08:24Whoa, that was weird.
08:25Can we try one more time?
08:27A diss track to expose the Saja boy.
08:28And send those disgust...
08:29Whoa, let's do that again.
08:30Yeah!
08:31And send those disgusting demons
08:32back to the depths where they belong!
08:33Yeah!
08:34Okay, all right.
08:35Last one.
08:36Last one.
08:37Okay.
08:38They're stealing the souls of our fans.
08:40They're stealing the souls of our fans.
08:44The souls of our fans.
08:46timelines.
08:47The souls of our fans!
08:48The souls of our fans.
08:58The souls of our fans!
08:59The souls of our fans.
09:00What are they stealing?
09:01They're stealing themselves.
09:02Wait, should I do it like different?
09:04Should I do it like better?
09:05You want another one.
09:06It's not awkward with you guys here at all.
09:08I can't.
09:09Stealing the souls of our fans?
09:12I hate them.
09:14Eh?
09:15I mean, I think that's the one.
09:17Let's print that.
09:19So I think animation is a medium that transcends the limits of imagination.
09:26It brings to life anything we can dream up unrestricted by reality.
09:29Yet often rich in emotion, meaning, and depth.
09:34So whether you're a child or an adult, animation has the power to move hearts and tell stories that stay with you.
09:43And that's what makes it so powerful.
09:45So this movie has so many different charms.
09:48One of my favorite Korean word is called 아름답다.
09:51And it means beautiful and it carries the meaning of being true to oneself.
09:57So this story embraces the idea that everyone has their own unique beauty.
10:03And that it can be accepting our differences.
10:06And that can be very empowering.
10:08So a long time ago,
10:10Chi Nhu, this character, made a very dangerous but life-changing decision
10:14to make a deal with Kima in order to protect his family.
10:20And that choice led to suffering and being trapped into darkness with his soul under someone else's control, which is Kima.
10:28But despite all of that, I think Chi Nhu still carries on to warmth and has a deep sense of love and curiosity about humanity.
10:37I was very excited and nervous at the same time.
10:40It's really hard to put into words.
10:41But I remember feeling completely overwhelmed in the best way possible.
10:47I think a lot of people would enjoy this film with their family or with their friends.
10:55But when I finally saw the finished film, it went far beyond anything that I pictured in my mind.
11:02So it was really beautiful and also very moving and also very funny.
11:08And it felt really surreal.
11:10So what stood out to me most was how deeply music and emotion are woven into Heart of the animation.
11:20In many animated films, music plays more of a background role.
11:24But in this film, the music, the story, and the emotions are all very well intertwined.
11:30I hope that this film reminds people that we all have darkness within us.
11:36And sometimes the bravest thing we can do is to just face it.
11:41And at its core, this is a story about finding the strength to trust your own voice and move forward.
11:48So I hope it offers comfort and courage to those who actually really need it.
12:00So, I'm feeling it.
12:06Well, it's sound like a thing that I'm doing for.
12:08So, I know I'm feeling it and I'm feeling it.
12:09This is the kind of thing that I'm feeling.
12:10It's not the way I'm feeling it.
12:11I'm feeling it.
12:12It's not the way I think it would work across it.
12:13So it's like building, look out like a card.
12:14So that's not the way I'm feeling it.
12:15What are you feeling?
12:16I'm feeling it.
12:17I'm feeling it.
12:18But I'm feeling it.
12:19It's nothing more confronting to you.
12:20I'm feeling it.
12:21It's about time when I just fell inside.
12:22I brought the light and everything down.
12:24But I'm off with you
12:26Very so deep in your ex-create
12:28Who's the type of character?
12:29Just the one I've been mute, mute
12:32I've been discrete
12:33How many people know
12:34I'm in these streets
12:35I'm in these streets
12:35I'm in these streets
12:44I'm in these streets
12:45Come on come on come on come on
12:47What you want, girl?
12:48Come on come on come on come on for your rest
12:50I'm not gonna come on, how's it gonna call you love ya
12:53We'll make it look, make it look, what you're nothing for ya
12:55I said come on, come on, come on, come on, hit you over
12:58It's coming, coming, coming, coming for your ransom
