Salut la famille ! 👋 Aujourd’hui, je vous présente mon premier écran PC 4K, et pas n’importe lequel : le Samsung Odyssey G8 ! 🖥️🔥 Un design futuriste, une dalle 4K Ultra HD, 240Hz, un taux de contraste impressionnant… bref, cette bête veut clairement imposer un nouveau standard dans le monde des écrans gaming et créatifs.
Dans cette vidéo, je teste tout : fluidité, qualité d’image, réactivité, courbure, connectique, interface et les nouveautés 2025 intégrées par Samsung. Est-ce qu’il vaut son prix ? Est-ce qu’il tient ses promesses pour du gaming haut de gamme ou de la création de contenu exigeante ? Spoiler : la 4K change vraiment la donne… mais pas sans quelques surprises. 👀

06:21Remember what I said about the G9.
06:23It was that it was more suited, in my opinion, to FPS type games, to car type games.
06:30Unlike other games like Fortnite where we were more crushed.
06:33Here we are on a 32-inch flat screen.
06:36We're still happy on our screen.
06:38We still have an image quality that is crazy.
06:40And we'll be able to play all our favorite games without the distortion that I felt, for example, with Fortnite.
06:46And precisely, in terms of Fortnite, it's the first time that I played Fortnite in 4K with the FPS at maximum.
06:52DLSS was enabled.
06:54I put it in balance.
06:55I didn't put it into performance.
06:56Balanced with an i7, an RTX 4070 Super, I was running around 95 FPS on this screen.
07:04Which is still not bad at all for a 32-inch in 4K.

07:08If I had put it in performance mode, I can also tell you that it will run around 125-130 FPS.
07:14Which is not bad either.
07:15But it won't be done for competition.
07:17I advise you to go down to 1440p right away.

07:21If I then went on to Forza Horizon 5.
07:25Forza Horizon 5 was also a very nice surprise.

07:30So there, the limit, the thing that we could reproach is that if we play in exterior view, the reflections on my bodywork were a little too reflective.

07:39But in interior view, then certainly, the immersion is less deep than on the G9.
07:44But we really have a good feeling of speed.
07:46In terms of FPS, everything was set to ultra.
07:49And I asked for 240 FPS, because it's 240 Hz, obviously.
07:54However, in ultra, I was unable to exceed 150 FPS.
07:58Yeah, that's a shame.
07:58If you want now, with the type of configuration that I have, because we must not forget that the i7 is a 13th generation.
08:03If you want to play with a more powerful configuration.
08:07Besides, I'm thinking about the 14th generation i9 more and more.

08:13However, when I lowered my graphics resolution, but hey, again, I always expressed the fact of having a good image quality.

08:26I can say that we went straight to 180, even 200 FPS, without any problems.
08:31Now, regarding Doom The Dark Age.
08:34Well, I played Doom The Dark Age simply because it just came out.

08:40We also had 4K for the resolution.
08:43As I said, I used it to the max.
08:44And there I was shooting, but easily at 160 FPS.
08:48Of course, once again, with the appropriate settings to get the best image.
08:53We were on something, frankly, where we were really immersed.
08:57You will have a screen that you will really enjoy using.
09:00However, to get the most out of it, you will either have to switch to performance mode and therefore lower the resolution of your games a little.
09:09You'll still get 4K, but less detail in your games.
09:12That's a shame if you have that type of gaming setup.
09:15Or you will have to think about having a bigger configuration to be able to get the most out of your games.
09:20That is, graphics at maximum and FPS at maximum.
09:24And there, you will have to invest in i9 or simply Ryzen 9800X 3D with the graphics cards that go with it.
09:31And there, you have to type in the 4090, or even the 4080 super, etc.
09:35We are on a rate of 929 euros.

09:49And on top of that, it brings us everything that the G9 is almost missing, that is to say 4K.

10:02We either like or dislike screens that are simply matte for anti-glare.
10:05And there is still an anti-reflective treatment.
10:07Personally, this is my best PC gaming experience since getting this 32-inch 4K.
10:15We will be able to really exploit all the games.
10:18You will be able to use your graphics card to its full potential, or even a little too much.
10:21So, you will have to think about the machine that goes with it.
10:25Well yes, you know it, 4K resolution, every PC gamer knows it.
10:28When we go to 4K resolution, we need the graphics card that goes with it.
10:32Quite often people run on entry-level graphics cards,
10:36entry-level, mid-range entry-level, which will run 1080p.
10:40Those with 1440p, 40 September, 40 September Super, etc., are already lucky.
10:47But when you're going to run on 4K, you need the graphics card that goes with it.
10:50And there we are on 4080, 4090, 4090, etc., because now we are on 5000.
10:57And there, you will have to think about this type of graphics card and the processor that goes with it.
11:02But that's for a true 4K experience and a real eye-opener.
11:06Personally, I really liked this screen.
11:09I actually preferred it to the G9.
11:11Do I recommend this 4K screen?
11:14Yes, if you are a gamer and at home you want to play quietly,
11:19you can downgrade it to 1440p for a lower resolution, or even 1080p and get the missing FPS.
11:26But however, we will be in 240Hz.
11:28You know, I've already tested 1440p which goes up to over 500Hz.
11:32And so, it's up to you to see what you need.
11:35But in any case, it's a real slap that I took in 4K 240Hz on a 32 inch which is totally magnificent.
