00:00Lockdown. Lockdown. This is an emergency alert. Please follow lockdown procedures.
00:16Go into the nearest room or building. Lock the door and turn off all lights.
00:21Wait for the all clear from school officials or local authorities. Lockdown. Lockdown.
00:27First and foremost, I want to say that I can't stand bullies or bullying in general.
00:34I don't say all this because I was bullied or because I saw some anti-bullying PSA.
00:39I say it because bullying led to one of the scariest moments of my life.
00:43When I was in high school, I was just an average dude.
00:46So I just kind of blended in with the rest of the kids.
00:49However, that wasn't the case for this guy named Larry.
00:53Larry got picked on all the time by everyone, from the mean girls to the jocks, basically
00:58everyone at the school.
01:00Larry was known as the quiet loner with no friends.
01:03He had the look of a typical nerdy shut-in.
01:05Thick framed glasses, the braces, the hairstyle, just about everything about him made him an
01:10easy target for the bullies.
01:12All in all, the guy was harmless, which is why he was easily the most bullied kid in
01:17school.
01:18Year after year, it only seemed to get worse.
01:21I even witnessed an interaction at lunch one day, between a couple of seniors and a group
01:26of freshmen, where the older kids were basically indoctrinating the freshies into the tradition
01:30of picking on Larry.
01:32It made me sick to my stomach, and no one really stood up for him, because they didn't want
01:37to be the next target.
01:38But it was around that time that I finally started sticking up for Larry.
01:42It severely damaged my reputation, but I didn't care.
01:46I could tell it was making life just a little bit easier for Larry, so I kept doing it.
01:51I managed to get people to lay off of him in the two classes we had together that year.
01:55But I knew that people were probably being even nastier when I wasn't around.
01:59That's just how vicious my school was at the time.
02:02One day, I decided to ditch my friends and sit with Larry during lunch for once.
02:07He had sat alone every single day for years, and I wanted to change that.
02:11For the next 15 minutes or so, we talked about random things, basically whatever Larry wanted
02:17to talk about.
02:18It was mostly about his physics homework and comic book stuff, but it felt like I was getting
02:22to know him on a basic level that nobody had ever even bothered to do.
02:26There was something I wanted to ask him about from the very beginning, though.
02:30I waited for what seemed like the right moment, but when I mentioned it, he started talking
02:35and acting strange as hell.
02:37So, Larry, how's everyone been treating you lately?
02:40I'm sick of them.
02:42Every last one of them.
02:43I see.
02:44Well, what if some of them became your friends?
02:48Are you my friend?
02:49Yeah, of course I am.
02:51Friends are supposed to share their secrets with each other, right?
02:54Uh, yeah, sure.
02:56You promise you won't tell anyone, right?
02:59Yeah, I won't tell anyone.
03:01Oh, right.
03:02Here, look at my back.
03:03I only saw it for a second before Larry zipped his bag back up, but it was unmistakable.
03:10Larry had possession of a firearm.
03:12I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
03:14My blood ran cold, but I tried to act like it wasn't a huge deal, just so I could ask
03:19him the questions I needed to.
03:20With every answer, I became more terrified of Larry.
03:24He said he was planning to use it soon, not at a range against targets, but at school,
03:29on the students.
03:30And anyone who tried to get in his way.
03:33He said all this while remaining perfectly calm, like he'd been considering it for a
03:37long time.
03:38I knew this was likely not the first day he had brought it to school, either.
03:42When the bell finally rang, ending the lunch break, I told Larry I'd see him later.
03:47That's when I got up and walked away, trying to keep my composure.
03:50Our next classes were in opposite directions, so I thankfully didn't have to walk with him.
03:55I kept my cool and walked normally, until I was around the corner and out of his line
04:00of sight.
04:00Then I ran like hell to the office.
04:03Part of me still felt bad about doing it, but I immediately snitched on Larry, knowing
04:07I realistically had no other choice.
04:09Not even a minute later, the lockdown alarm was activated.
04:15Everybody was still getting out of lunch when the lockdown was called, so I watched it from
04:19the office as everyone started screaming and running, trying to find the nearest room to
04:24hide in.
04:25The cops that arrived shortly after searched the school for Larry, but he was nowhere to
04:29be found.
04:30It turns out that he ran home as soon as the lockdown started, so there's no doubt in my
04:34mind that he already knew I ratted on him.
04:36He was later arrested in his house, and since then, I haven't heard or seen Larry since.
04:42I don't know how long he spent in juvie or jail, but the district made sure he never
04:47came back to the same school he was planning to attack.
04:50Seeing the stories on the news about how many students have snapped from all the bullying
04:54and done the unthinkable, I believe a lot of people could have gotten hurt if I had not
04:58acted.
04:59Years have passed since this happened.
05:01Everyone graduated and moved on to adulthood, but nobody knows what happened to Larry.
05:06To this day, I live with the lingering fear that he will someday come after me to take
05:11his revenge.
05:14This story was inspired by a horrific incident regarding an 18-year-old man who was arrested
05:20and charged after two school lockdowns in Regina, where the accused allegedly revealed a firearm
05:25to a student.
05:26A Regina Police Service School Resource Officer was notified about the ordeal on Thursday.
05:32Police say the male named Chance Larry Constable revealed a firearm to a student, then left.
05:38The school was placed into a secure the building lockdown protocol.
05:41A police investigation led to a residence on the 1500 block of Bond Street.
05:46Police members, including the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, surrounded the residence.
05:51Because the residence was near an elementary school, it too was also placed on lockdown.
05:56At about 3.30 p.m., Constable was arrested by police.
06:01The secure building lockdown was lifted at both schools.
06:04Police have confirmed that a firearm has not been recovered.
06:07Constable has since faced charges.
06:09What I'm about to recall happened years ago.
06:29I was in high school, though I won't say where I went for my own safety.
06:34At the time, I played for the boys' volleyball team.
06:36Since practice was after school, it would last until the early evening.
06:41By the time we were done, there'd be very few people still in the school aside from the
06:45janitors.
06:46One day, after we'd finished an intense practice game, we all went into the locker room.
06:52Everyone showered, changed, and got ready to go home.
06:55Most of the students either walked, drove, or got rides home from other teammates.
07:00But I was one of the few people who still had to wait for their mom to pick them up.
07:04It always took her forever to get me, so I would usually hang out in the locker room until
07:08she texted that she arrived.
07:10That day, the locker room was completely empty, except for me.
07:16However, at some point, I heard a loud metallic bang coming from somewhere else.
07:22It sounded like the exterior door that led out to the track and football field.
07:26At first, I hoped it would stop, but when they wouldn't go away, I finally got up and went
07:31to check on it.
07:32I looked through the glass part of the door and saw a tall man standing outside in a
07:36hoodie, seemingly too old to be a student.
07:39I knew he could see me, and that's when I heard him shout saying,
07:43Hey, can you let me in?
07:44I'm here to pick up my son.
07:46Unsure of what to say, I replied,
07:49Uh, I don't know.
07:50Maybe you should enter through the front.
07:51Uh, that's far away.
07:54Can you please just open the door?
07:55I hesitated, but the guy sounded genuinely distressed, so I didn't want to make his day
08:00any worse.
08:01I then walked over to the door and pushed it open.
08:05The man thanked me and rushed out of the locker room and into the school, apparently looking
08:10for his son.
08:11That's when I sat back down on the bench and proceeded to wait for my mom.
08:14Out of nowhere, an alarm came on, and the school was placed on lockdown.
08:23Seconds later, I heard screaming coming from the school, panicking.
08:27I rushed to turn off the lights, but since there was no door to lock to secure the room,
08:32I found and hid inside a random locker.
08:34All I could hear for a while was the screaming, but then I heard the footsteps as someone rushed
08:39into the locker room.
08:40I peered through the slits in the metal, trying to see who it was.
08:44I couldn't see them, but figured it had to be another student hiding in one of the lockers
08:48as well, from the sounds of it.
08:50Moments later, someone else ran into the room.
08:53However, this time, I knew exactly who it was.
08:57It was the man I had let through the door.
08:59He still had his hood up, but now he was wearing a mask, and he had a giant machete in his hand
09:04that was dripping with blood.
09:06That's when I knew I had screwed up.
09:08He then ran up in between the two rows of lockers that I and another student were in.
09:13Suddenly, he started screaming and slashing random lockers all around him.
09:18I must have flinched, rattling my locker door the slightest bit, because he turned his head
09:22and locked onto me.
09:24I held my breath as he walked up to my locker and stared through the same slits I was looking
09:28through.
09:29I tried as hard as I could not to move while holding the door closed for dear life.
09:33Then he screamed and slashed the locker.
09:35The machete cut through the door, getting just inches from me.
09:51I was staring face to face with the blade as he struggled to get it out.
09:54He was just going to try and skewer me inside the locker.
09:57But if I opened the door and tried to prove I wasn't the guy he was after, I knew he would
10:02just blindly attack me before realizing it.
10:05I thought for sure there was no way out, but then I heard it.
10:08We both heard it.
10:09The sirens.
10:10They were still far away but rapidly getting closer.
10:13He knew he didn't have time, so he bolted immediately through the same door I let him in
10:17through.
10:18I stood there, frozen in fear.
10:20Then a minute later, the student hiding in the other locker stumbled out and ran off in
10:25the other direction toward the school, covered in blood.
10:28I stayed hidden until the cops came searching the locker room.
10:31I told them everything, hoping it would help, but unfortunately, the investigation never amounted
10:37to anything.
10:38Neither the masked man or student was able to be identified despite the information I gave.
10:43Years have passed, and I still remember this traumatic day like it was yesterday.
10:47I don't know if that guy was trying to kill the other one because they were in rival gangs
10:52or something, or if he was just some bloodthirsty psycho.
10:55Either way, knowing he's still out there makes me sick.
10:58I feel incredibly stupid and guilty for opening that door for him, as I know I probably could
11:03have prevented the attack altogether had I left him out there.
11:07I just know things could have been a lot worse if he had a firearm instead of a machete.
11:12Things could have gone so much worse.
11:14This story was inspired by a disturbing school lockdown incident regarding a student who was
11:22injured after a masked suspect was reportedly seen carrying a machete in a Toronto neighborhood
11:27on a Monday afternoon.
11:29Toronto police say they were initially called to the area around 3.30pm.
11:33Paramedics say that one victim was taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening
11:38injuries.
11:39It is not immediately clear how those injuries were sustained.
11:42Officers say a second victim has not been located.
11:46The school was placed on lockdown, but at around 5pm, it was lifted.
11:50The school said several staff and students had already left the school beforehand.
11:54However, for those who were in the building, the lockdown procedure included locking all
11:59exterior room doors and keeping students and staff inside their classrooms and other
12:04secured areas.
12:05Police say the suspect is approximately 5'4", with a thin build and black dreads.
12:10He was last seen wearing all black clothing, a black toque, white gloves, a white horror
12:15movie mask, a white backpack, and white running shoes with yellow accents.
12:20Police say that he was carrying a machete in his right hand.
12:23Police are asking people to stay out of the area as officers investigate.
12:27This happened at my school right after spring break.
12:48Nobody was happy about being back.
12:50Unlike everyone else, I had seven classes every day.
12:53However, on the first day back, my stomach wasn't feeling the best from all the junk food
12:58I ate over the break.
13:00So after lunch, I got to my class and notified my teacher that I was going to use the washroom.
13:05I made sure to use the washroom downstairs as it was usually emptier.
13:09Plus, it wasn't used as often as the top floor one, so it was best whenever someone wanted
13:14to take a dump without being noticed.
13:16Thankfully, when I got there, nobody was camping outside of it.
13:20So I hurried into the first stall, dropped my pants, and nearly didn't even make it to
13:25the toilet seat before liquid shit started spraying out of my ass.
13:32There was a good 15 seconds of nothing but sputtering and groaning, so I was glad nobody
13:38was in the other stalls.
13:40Once it was over, I started cleaning myself up.
13:43While I was doing that, I noticed some writing on the washroom stall.
13:47It said, Do not come to school on 3-23.
13:52That was in two days.
13:53It felt eerie because of everything that had been happening in schools lately, with kids
13:58snapping and doing the unthinkable.
14:00When I came out of the stall, I poked my head into the other ones to see if it was part of
14:04some other bunch of graffiti that had happened in the washroom.
14:08But that seemed to be the only thing written in there.
14:10I didn't have time to think much more about it, as I had to rush back upstairs to my class
14:15before anyone got too suspicious.
14:17The next day, though, the exact same thing happened at the start of 6th period.
14:22Mr. Brown, I need to go to the washroom.
14:25Again?
14:26Please.
14:26It's an emergency.
14:29Be respectful, everyone.
14:31You can go.
14:32But if this is going to keep happening, you should probably stay at home.
14:35Yeah.
14:36I wonder who laced his lunch with laxatives.
14:40It felt just as urgent in the classroom, so I had to go all the way down to the first
14:45floor to do my business.
14:46I then got in, and just as I was about to enter a stall, I went to the one I went to
14:51the day before to see if the writing was still there.
14:54But it was gone, probably cleaned up by the janitor overnight.
14:58This time, I went all the way down to the big stall so I wouldn't feel as cramped.
15:03I locked the door, sat down, got ready to go.
15:07Then, all of a sudden, the lights shut off.
15:11It got dark as hell in an instant.
15:17That's when I heard someone coming into the washroom just before the lights went out, and
15:21the footsteps slowly walking over the tile.
15:24I was freaked out, knowing there couldn't be a good reason for someone to enter a washroom
15:29after turning off the lights.
15:31I had no clue if they knew I was in there, so I kept quiet.
15:35I listened to them go into the stall.
15:38Then, I heard what sounded like them popping the cap off a marker, followed by writing.
15:44Once the writing stopped, I could hear them get out of the stall, then leave the washroom.
15:50I didn't like having to do it in the dark, though, so I used my phone flashlight to see what
15:54was happening.
15:55I finished up.
15:56Then, I left the stall and turned the lights back on.
15:59This time, I didn't go back to class right away.
16:02I stopped to check all the stalls, whatever that person had written.
16:05I found it in the very same stall that had the message the day before.
16:10There was a new message.
16:11It said,
16:12I'm going to blank up the school.
16:16My heart almost stopped.
16:18I didn't want to be a rat, but I decided I had to report it just to save lives in the
16:23worst case scenario.
16:24I went straight to the front office and told them what I saw.
16:27I didn't think they'd lock down the whole school, but they did.
16:30I was losing my mind in the office, thinking non-stop whether I'd made the right decision
16:38or ruined some kid's life for no reason.
16:40There were cops swarming all over the school, and the lockdown lasted for hours.
16:45They even told their parents about it.
16:47Eventually, the cops checked everywhere, interrogated me, and made their report declaring the school
16:52safe.
16:53However, I was still terrified the entire next day, because the first message had said
16:59the attack would happen on 3-23, which was that Wednesday.
17:03There were cops guarding the school because of it, but nothing ever happened, though the
17:08identity of the person who made the threats was never discovered either.
17:12To this day, I have no idea if my stomach ache saved my school from catastrophe, or if it
17:17all was supposed to be a joke that I took too seriously.
17:20Maybe if I could have seen the person who wrote it, it would be clearer, but it still
17:25freaks me out that they were in the washroom with me, lurking in the dark.
17:32Police and high school administration are still searching for the student who wrote a
17:36threat on a bathroom wall, causing an entire high school to go into lockdown on March 24.
17:41According to police, the threat written was,
17:43Gonna shoot the school per 6B sick ready.
17:46Despite the sentence not making total sense grammatically, it is clear what is trying to
17:50be conveyed.
17:51The threat was found written on the wall of the first floor boys' bathroom at the high
17:55school around 12.30 p.m.
17:57Students immediately notified the school administration who identified the message and notified police
18:02who were on the scene due to an unrelated fire alarm.
18:06As a result, the school was put into a controlled lockdown per protocol for about 20 minutes with
18:11police present.
18:12Parents were notified of the situation via email.
18:15The lockdown was lifted after police found the threat to be unfounded and the school was declared
18:19safe.
18:20School officials said this may have been a copycat incident, with a similar incident that had
18:24happened a few days before this one, where several students said they heard someone write
18:29in the bathroom, do not come to school on 3-23, which translates to March 23.
18:35The two incidents were eerily similar, but police are unsure if they were necessarily connected.
18:40The person that wrote the alleged threats is still unknown.
19:10The one thatveloped the hideout, the one who were able to have found the situation in the
19:11case.
19:12The one that looked at the verdict was a pięk of the
19:23accident, and the one that looked at the bathroom was a great deal.
19:24The other happenings will have been seen in the trailer in the scandal.
19:26The video that was made for the fact that the scene was the only day that was a great deal.
