00:00Welcome to Connor Perry, where you can take a trip back in time to a day when blacksmiths
00:24forged iron and farmers at Jay and Ball, to the 1830s when women folks spun wool and dipped
00:32cannons and working meant working hard. Welcome to Connor Prairie, where long ago is not so far away.
00:43What is Prairie Town? Prairie Town is a lot of things. To me, Prairie Town is probably the
00:51essence of what Connor Prairie's core experience became. Prairie Town is more than just buildings,
00:58it is a community. A composite community that's set in 1836 and we have characters that celebrate
01:07and have weddings and funerals and have conflicts and drama. Prairie Town to me is an opportunity
01:13for learning, for teaching, for experimenting. It's a tool to teach people you know how people
01:20live back in the 1830s. It's a place where people can actually enter into history and become a part
01:24of history. Don't have to stand back. There's no barriers. You can step forward and participate
01:34if you want to. Think about not only where we came from but what that means for where we're at today.
01:42And you can enjoy it on its surface because it's a visual feast or you can enjoy the detailed
01:49understanding about how foraging is done. It really makes it a perfect tourism attraction for all ages
01:57and all interests. There we are, Connor Prairie. Yuffie, yuffie. The legacy of Prairie Town
02:06is bigger than any one person. Prairie Town is bigger than Eli Lilly. Connor Prairie is bigger than William
02:18Connor. It is a legacy that is made up of the marks of all these people. Planting that seed of curiosity,
02:28connecting people to memories, teaching people new things, challenging them on these hard and fast
02:38assumptions that we have. Now, the legacy is found in the people.
