When Emma doesn't get the promotion she had set her sights on, she resigns. She goes home to her dad over Christmas. He runs an inn and it turns out that business is slow, and her dad is forced to sell. At the same time, Kevin is sent to finalize the deal with Emma's dad. However, he first meets Emma, and when he finally arrives at the inn, he is mistaken for a regular guest.

00:00:00You
00:00:19Come on now
00:00:21No
00:00:25Just a few more minutes
00:00:27Seriously, Emma
00:00:29I can't believe that I let you drag me out here at the crack of dawn
00:00:33What do you think you're training for the Olympics?
00:00:37I wanted to hang out with you and this is the only time I could squeeze it in
00:00:41First of all, this is more like torture than a hangout
00:00:45Well, meeting me at some cute wine bar is a hangout
00:00:48But you never get to hang because all you do is work
00:00:52There's enough time you just relax and just chill
00:00:57Forget about the last time you had a date
00:00:59Date?
00:01:00Who even has time to meet anyone?
00:01:02You know what my work is like
00:01:05One slip up in the boys club will eat me alive
00:01:07And that's what I mean
00:01:09Do you even like working there?
00:01:11I like being able to play in the big sand pit
00:01:14I like it when I win the account
00:01:16I know you like the chase
00:01:18But there's more to life than the grind
00:01:21Speaking of which, I've got a bolt after this
00:01:24Big meeting today
00:01:26What's so important?
00:01:28The partners are announcing who they're promoting
00:01:30Before we break up for Christmas
00:01:32And I think I'm gonna nail it with my presentation
00:01:35Plus, my numbers are there
00:01:38And I've put in double the hours of everyone else
00:01:41I just worry that you've put too much pressure on yourself
00:01:45Don't worry
00:01:46Today's gonna be my day
00:01:48So, in conclusion
00:02:09As natural resources will only continue to be further strained
00:02:13Companies will be forced to change the way they do business to be profitable
00:02:17We can start with a complete revision of our supply chain
00:02:20Emma
00:02:21You do realise that this is going the complete opposite direction to profitable
00:02:26And I'm sure you've let Frank and the board know that this is actually gonna increase costs
00:02:31Is this true?
00:02:32Initially, yes
00:02:33I know
00:02:34You see, the shareholders
00:02:37They're not gonna like that
00:02:40And I think I speak for everybody in this room when I say
00:02:43We need a better solution
00:02:45I think if you look at the long term
00:02:47Thanks, Emma
00:02:48We'll take your suggestions under consideration
00:02:50Now, for our last order of business before we break for Christmas
00:02:55Which, by the way, just because you're not in the office doesn't mean you can stop checking your email
00:03:00Now, as you know, we've been looking to fill the position of director of sales
00:03:06And the board has come to a decision
00:03:09Tough decision
00:03:11Lots of qualified candidates
00:03:13But one of you really stood out
00:03:16Putting in the time and really contributing
00:03:21Congratulations, Craig
00:03:23We look forward to watching you rise in the company
00:03:31Thank you so much, sir
00:03:33Hey, are we still in for a bit of a cold this weekend?
00:03:36Wouldn't miss it
00:03:38Congratulations, Craig
00:03:40I'm sure you'll deliver everything they've come to expect from you
00:03:44Cheers, Anne
00:03:45And Frank
00:03:46Consider this my notice
00:03:51Oh, don't be so rash, Emma
00:03:53I'm sure another opportunity will come along
00:03:56Maybe
00:03:57Maybe not
00:03:58I'm just not willing to wait around anymore
00:04:01Look
00:04:02I appreciate having had the chance to work for this company
00:04:05But
00:04:06It's time for me to go
00:04:08I need you to go out of town
00:04:28Get this handled, huh?
00:04:30Counting on you, Oliver
00:04:32Have I ever let you down, Larry?
00:04:37You get the owner
00:04:46To sign away the
00:04:53Holiday Inn
00:04:56Or you might not want to come back
00:05:01The Holiday Inn
00:05:03What are you calling that?
00:05:04Seriously
00:05:05What do you mean, don't come back?
00:05:08What is that that you're trying to say?
00:05:10Well, I'm not trying
00:05:12I'm telling you flat out
00:05:13This deal has gone on way too long
00:05:15The investors are getting nervous
00:05:18The partners are looking for someone to
00:05:21How exactly do I sit into this playing game?
00:05:23I like you
00:05:25But I'm not far from retirement
00:05:27And I am not going to take the fall
00:05:28And I am not going to take the fall
00:05:30For this
00:05:31For starters
00:05:40For starters
00:05:41You certainly kicked off your holiday with a bang
00:05:44Yeah
00:05:45No kidding
00:05:46Oh my...
00:05:47Oh, I don't know what came over me
00:05:49I've just had enough
00:05:50For a girl that plans every second of her life
00:05:52For a girl that plans every second of her life
00:05:53You really jumped the gun with this one
00:05:55What are you going to do?
00:05:56It's hardly the best time of year to be unemployed
00:05:59Maybe I should call Frank
00:06:00Ask for my job back
00:06:01Don't you dare
00:06:03Admit it
00:06:04You hated that job
00:06:06Didn't have time for anything
00:06:07Friends
00:06:08Romance
00:06:09Pedicure even
00:06:11Letting your life pass you by
00:06:13Why don't you do something to clear your head
00:06:15Before you make any more big decisions
00:06:18Why don't you go see your dad?
00:06:20I haven't been home for Christmas in years
00:06:22Never had time
00:06:24Well, it would seem that you do have time now
00:06:27I don't know
00:06:28Should be looking for another job
00:06:29You just said no one hires during Christmas
00:06:32So you might as well spend your time
00:06:35Finding a job you actually like doing
00:06:38What would that be?
00:06:39I don't even know
00:06:41It's been years since I've actually thought about
00:06:44Doing something I enjoy
00:06:46Yeah, maybe you're right
00:06:49Some fresh air
00:06:51Some time with dad
00:06:53Exactly
00:06:54It's exactly what you need
00:06:56Let's get away this Christmas
00:07:01Just the two of us
00:07:05Pack up all your trouble
00:07:10Away from all the fuss
00:07:15Outside the snow keeps falling
00:07:19A chill is in the air
00:07:23Let's trade it off for
00:07:26A tropical shore
00:07:28And Christmas
00:07:30Without a care
00:07:32Let's
00:07:34Let's
00:07:35Oh
00:07:36Oh no
00:07:37No
00:07:38No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
00:07:40You
00:07:52It's what?
00:07:53It's what?
00:08:54Thank you for stopping.
00:09:04You're kind of hard to miss.
00:09:06I just didn't know when or if another car would come along.
00:09:10Yeah, not much traffic around here, huh?
00:09:14Yeah, this is pretty much rush hour.
00:09:17Looks like you need some help.
00:09:18Need is a strong word. I'm sure I could handle it.
00:09:22Look, it's up to you, but you're the one that waves me down?
00:09:24I mean, if you feel like it.
00:09:35Not a problem.
00:09:36There we are. Good as new.
00:09:46I take it back. I'm glad you turned up when you did.
00:09:49Well, lucky for you. One of my specialities is rescuing damsels in distress.
00:09:53I don't think I needed to be rescued. I'm sure I'd have figured it out eventually.
00:09:57I'm sure you were perfectly capable.
00:09:59But there's nothing wrong with letting someone help you if you need it.
00:10:02Guess I'm not used to asking.
00:10:04Sometimes it takes more courage just to ask.
00:10:07Okay. Well, anyway, thanks for everything. I bet we've been hitting the road.
00:10:18But seriously, I do appreciate it.
00:10:21My pleasure.
00:10:27Merry Christmas.
00:10:29Oh, yeah, that's right. Merry Christmas to you too.
00:10:37Merry Christmas.
00:11:07Oh, I've missed you, Dad.
00:11:16Oh, yes, too, Mr. Jingle.
00:11:22And we've missed you too.
00:11:24I can't remember the last time I spent Christmas with our little girl.
00:11:29No, we should have been back more. I'm sorry.
00:11:31Oh, no, I didn't mean it to sound like that.
00:11:33I'm just happy that you're home. It means the world.
00:11:36Me too.
00:11:37Um, is that all you've got?
00:11:39Oh, I can't stay long. I've got to get back and find a new job.
00:11:43Oh, right.
00:11:45Well, at least stay long enough to unwind from the stress of work and the big city, you know.
00:11:51Slow down and smell the roses.
00:11:53Well, I can't say that a change of pace won't be welcome, that's for sure.
00:11:56Dad, what happened to the snowman out the front?
00:12:01Well, I don't put everything out like I used to.
00:12:05Well, it's a lot of work for one old man.
00:12:08You used to look like a kid.
00:12:10All right.
00:12:11Let's see if we can find it in the attic.
00:12:14Come on.
00:12:15Come on, Mr. Junkers.
00:12:16Come on, Nick.
00:12:21Ah.
00:12:24Here we are.
00:12:24Oh, it's so good to be home.
00:12:35Dad?
00:12:36Hmm?
00:12:36Where's the tree?
00:12:39Oh, I thought I'd skip it this year.
00:12:42But you love Christmas.
00:12:44You used to do it up so big.
00:12:47What's going on?
00:12:48Is everything okay?
00:12:50Well, like I said, I didn't get around to much decorating this year.
00:12:53I didn't dream you'd be coming.
00:12:56It seemed rather pointless just for myself.
00:12:59What about the guests?
00:13:01They used to come every year just to see what new decorations you'd added.
00:13:04Where are the guests?
00:13:10Um, well, you see, the, um, the thing is, business has been rather down this last couple of years.
00:13:20How down?
00:13:22Well, at the moment, it's just you and me.
00:13:27Look, why don't you go and settle into your old room,
00:13:31and then come down and we'll have a talk.
00:13:36Okay.
00:13:37I want the whole story.
00:13:47Ah.
00:13:49Here we are.
00:13:51Where?
00:13:52You've always made the best hot chocolate.
00:13:56Well, it's your mother's recipe.
00:13:58Yeah, but you always gave me extra marshmallows.
00:14:01Sometimes it's the little things that count.
00:14:05Speaking of little things,
00:14:07what's been going on?
00:14:11Are there really no other guests?
00:14:13Well, it's not exactly like the good old days.
00:14:16Sometimes I think one of those, you know, computer sites might be a good idea.
00:14:22Dad, do you still not have a website?
00:14:24Huh?
00:14:24Um, we need to get an online presence for the inn.
00:14:30Maybe I can help you whilst I'm home.
00:14:32Yeah, do you think it would help?
00:14:34And hardly any Christmas decorations.
00:14:36You always went over the top with that.
00:14:38Well, ever since your mum...
00:14:41It's been hard, I'm sorry.
00:14:45Your mother brought such joy to the festivities.
00:14:48And I haven't exactly been around.
00:14:53Um, something else I ought to tell you.
00:14:58I've been struggling with the workload here.
00:15:00I can't fill the rooms, can't pay the bills.
00:15:03Sometimes it's hard enough just to keep my head above water.
00:15:06Dad, no.
00:15:07It's not all bad.
00:15:11I love this place, but...
00:15:15Maybe I should retire.
00:15:18Find somewhere less demanding.
00:15:23But this is your life.
00:15:26What would you do?
00:15:27There's a property developer who wants to buy the land and build a resort and conference centre.
00:15:36Well, they keep pushing, but I'm not sure.
00:15:40That's the worst idea I've ever heard of.
00:15:43The holiday inn will be gone forever.
00:15:45Oh, they've come in with a low offer, but...
00:15:47So far, I've said no, but I'm not sure how long I can hold out.
00:15:51Dad, we can't let this happen.
00:15:52Well, I might have no choice.
00:15:55I haven't got the money or the energy to keep the place going.
00:16:01Look, I love this place too.
00:16:04I'll think of something.
00:16:07I promise.
00:16:07Yeah, yeah.
00:16:09Let's get that Christmas spirit back into you.
00:16:13What?
00:16:13Come on.
00:16:14I'll get you a coat.
00:16:15Oh.
00:16:22I've been down here for ages.
00:16:32I haven't got back.
00:16:33It's all looking lovely.
00:16:36Wow.
00:16:38I used to love this place.
00:16:39We used to come nearly every day after school.
00:16:42As I recall, most of your pocket money ended up in here.
00:16:45It was the perfect hangout, plus Molly made the best coffees.
00:16:50I wonder what ever happened to her.
00:16:52Nothing happened to her.
00:16:54She's still here.
00:16:56Dad, we have to go in and say hi.
00:16:58Oui.
00:17:00I do bump into Molly occasionally, but I...
00:17:03I definitely have to go.
00:17:05Come on, I'll buy you a coffee.
00:17:07I don't know anything about these fancy coffees.
00:17:10Don't worry.
00:17:11I'll look after you.
00:17:13Bye.
00:17:13Bye.
00:17:15What a lovely surprise.
00:17:29It's been way too long.
00:17:31I know, Molly.
00:17:32How you doing, Ben?
00:17:34Haven't seen you in a while.
00:17:36Oh, you know, Molly.
00:17:37It's the same as always.
00:17:39It's good to see you.
00:17:41Both of you.
00:17:42Now, what can I get you?
00:17:43Do you remember my usual?
00:17:45How could I forget?
00:17:47You'd order the same thing every day.
00:17:49Pumpkin spice latte.
00:17:52But if you're feeling adventurous, I've got something new.
00:17:55Do you want to try?
00:17:56Is it good?
00:17:57Really good.
00:17:58Caramel apple spice with cinnamon dolce topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
00:18:05That sounds amazing.
00:18:08It's like childhood in a cup.
00:18:09Oh, they still do this.
00:18:10I used to love going to the festival.
00:18:15It was so much fun.
00:18:17Well, if you liked it before, come and see what we've added.
00:18:19It brings in quite the crowd compared to the old days.
00:18:22Maybe I'll go and check it out tomorrow.
00:18:24Then stop by the baked goods stand.
00:18:27It's a fundraiser for the library, and I've got a few of my prize-winning cakes there.
00:18:31I wouldn't miss that for the world.
00:18:34Go and have a look around the shop.
00:18:36You might find a few new goodies.
00:18:38They really have expanded.
00:18:40Dad, would you mind waiting for the order?
00:18:42I want to see what cool gifts Molly's got in the shop.
00:18:44Okay, I'll be right here trying to work out what to order.
00:18:48Oh, sorry, Oscar.
00:18:49Don't worry.
00:18:50I'll take good care of you, Dad.
00:18:52You go shop.
00:18:57Well, there's quite a lot there, isn't there?
00:19:02Machiato.
00:19:02Machiato.
00:19:03Machiato.
00:19:04Good, yes.
00:19:05Yes, yes.
00:19:18Machiato.
00:19:35Excuse me, sorry.
00:19:36Sorry.
00:19:36I'm so sorry.
00:19:38You again?
00:19:39What are you doing here?
00:19:40Are you following me?
00:19:41I could ask you the same question.
00:19:43No stalking today.
00:19:45I'm just here visiting my dad.
00:19:47How about we start this whole thing over?
00:19:53Hi.
00:19:54I'm Oliver.
00:19:57Emma.
00:20:01So, are you from around here?
00:20:03Yeah, I grew up here.
00:20:05I moved out after college.
00:20:07I take it you're not from around these parts.
00:20:09No, I'm just here for a few days on a work assignment.
00:20:12Seems like a nice place to grow up.
00:20:14Yeah.
00:20:15I mean, you know what it's like when you're a kid.
00:20:17You want to be so exciting.
00:20:19This place can be a...
00:20:21Doesn't seem all that quiet to me.
00:20:24I think the definition of quiet changes when you're an adult.
00:20:27Now I'd call it charming.
00:20:29Plus, everyone's coming in for the Christmas festival.
00:20:31Ah, that's good to know.
00:20:34Why is that good to know?
00:20:36Hmm.
00:20:37Like I said, it's a working weekend for me.
00:20:39It's good to know a little bit more about the area.
00:20:42Well, I can give you some pointers.
00:20:44Where are you staying?
00:20:45Um...
00:20:46Still working out the details on that.
00:20:48Well, you should stay at my dad's place.
00:20:50It's practically a historic landmark at this point.
00:20:53It's called the Holiday Inn.
00:20:55Sorry, sorry.
00:20:57That's your dad's place.
00:20:59Have you heard of it?
00:21:00Um...
00:21:01Yeah, well, it's...
00:21:03Yeah, it's kind of on my radar.
00:21:05Are you one of those travel writers?
00:21:07Oh, you should definitely come and experience the inn.
00:21:10Get a feel for the place.
00:21:12A good writer would be great for business.
00:21:14We could really do with the press.
00:21:16I don't think you understand it.
00:21:18Oh, please.
00:21:19My dad would be so grateful if you're doing a story.
00:21:23Call it a favour for the help of the tyre.
00:21:26Let me think about it, okay?
00:21:29Okay.
00:21:30I promise you, you won't find a more charming place.
00:21:33That looks antique.
00:21:37Are you going to get it?
00:21:39Maybe another time.
00:21:41What's all this for?
00:21:42We're making cookies.
00:21:43Cookies?
00:21:44Oh, there goes my diet.
00:21:45It's Christmas.
00:21:46You have to have cookies.
00:21:47Have to.
00:21:48It's tradition.
00:21:49Hmm.
00:21:50Hmm.
00:21:51Hmm.
00:21:52Hmm.
00:21:53Hmm.
00:21:54Hmm.
00:21:55Hmm.
00:21:56Hmm.
00:21:57Hmm.
00:21:58Hmm.
00:21:59Hmm.
00:22:00Hmm.
00:22:01Hmm.
00:22:02Hmm.
00:22:03What's all this for?
00:22:04We're making cookies.
00:22:06Cookies?
00:22:07Oh, there goes my diet.
00:22:09It's Christmas.
00:22:10You have to have cookies.
00:22:12Have to.
00:22:13It's tradition.
00:22:14Hmm.
00:22:15Where's your mixer?
00:22:16Um, mixer.
00:22:17Yeah.
00:22:18Merry Christmas.
00:22:19Hey, Larry.
00:22:20Oh, just checking in on your progress.
00:22:22Come on, man.
00:22:23I've only just got here.
00:22:24No time to waste.
00:22:25Have you located our target yet?
00:22:26Actually, you're not going to believe it.
00:22:27I've met the daughter of the owner.
00:22:28She thinks I should stay at the inn.
00:22:29Oh, you're kidding.
00:22:30Hey, how did you swing that?
00:22:31Oh, long story.
00:22:32Obviously I can stay at the inn.
00:22:33Oh.
00:22:34I've only been left alone.
00:22:35You've been left.
00:22:36I've only been left with my house.
00:22:37No time to waste.
00:22:38I'm ready.
00:22:39I'll take some shit.
00:22:40I'll take it.
00:22:41I'll be right back.
00:22:42No time to waste.
00:22:43I'll take it.
00:22:44If you're up and you're going to switch away.
00:22:46I'll take it.
00:22:47No time to go.
00:22:48See, I'll take it.
00:22:49If I've already gone, I'll take it.
00:22:52How do you swing that?
00:22:53Long story.
00:22:54Obviously, she doesn't know what I'm here for.
00:22:56She thinks I'm a travel writer.
00:22:58Great cover.
00:22:59Yeah, well, pump them for information and then spring the papers on them.
00:23:03Ah, I don't know.
00:23:05I don't think I should stay there.
00:23:07It seems wrong.
00:23:09And that's why I sent my best shark to get the job done.
00:23:15She seems like a nice person.
00:23:17I didn't send you there to make friends.
00:23:20Get the job done.
00:23:22And then get back here to celebrate the bonus you're about to earn.
00:23:29This was always my favourite.
00:23:31The best bit was decorating them with all different colours of icing and sprinkles.
00:23:37Oh, I remember watching you and your mother making cookies.
00:23:41I used to love eating the dough.
00:23:44As I recall, you ate more dough than actual cookies.
00:23:49Guilty as charged.
00:23:52Are you expecting anyone?
00:23:55No.
00:23:56Yes.
00:24:01Yeah, I'm in need of a room.
00:24:20I heard that you might have a spare.
00:24:26Well, I'll check the reservations.
00:24:35See if we have it in.
00:24:36I thought you said this place was empty.
00:24:46Just go with it.
00:24:48Dad's got his pride.
00:24:50Another favour?
00:24:52Well, you can take your chances finding somewhere else miles away on such a note to the store.
00:24:57You're in luck, sir.
00:25:00We have a cancellation.
00:25:03Oh, great.
00:25:04I'll take it.
00:25:06Thank you, Mr.
00:25:07Oliver.
00:25:07Oliver, please.
00:25:09Just call me Oliver.
00:25:11Well, Oliver, go upstairs, settle in, come down and join us by the fire for some refreshments.
00:25:17Oh, no, I wouldn't want you to go to any trouble.
00:25:20No, I insist.
00:25:20You're a guest.
00:25:22Please treat this place as if it's your home.
00:25:25Oliver, come in.
00:25:47Sit down, sir.
00:25:49There.
00:25:52What's that?
00:25:54Mold cider?
00:25:55It's been a holiday tradition at the inn since...
00:25:58Since I can remember.
00:26:00Yeah.
00:26:00Mom used to keep a pot warming on the stove for the guests.
00:26:03And there's one thing that goes extremely well with the cider.
00:26:07Dad, you're supposed to wait until they're decorated.
00:26:10Just one.
00:26:11Or two.
00:26:12Won't do any harm.
00:26:13Besides, you've made enough for an army.
00:26:16If you're not careful, I'll end up looking even more like Santa Claus.
00:26:20Ho, ho, ho.
00:26:22Consider it quality control.
00:26:23I mean, you don't seem like the type of girl that wants to be known for a substandard baking.
00:26:28Besides, this one's defective.
00:26:33It's missing a leg.
00:26:37Fine.
00:26:37I give up.
00:26:39You win this one, but you should know I'm used to getting my way.
00:26:41Why am I not surprised?
00:26:43By the way, you've already made three batches.
00:26:46Why are you making so many?
00:26:47Remember when Molly was telling us about the Christmas festival?
00:26:50Yeah.
00:26:50Well, I wanted to contribute some cookies to the fundraiser for the library.
00:26:54Oh, that's really nice of you.
00:26:57The library needs all the help it can get.
00:27:00But there's a catch.
00:27:01In order to get them decorated so I can bring them tomorrow...
00:27:05Ah, let me guess.
00:27:07That's right.
00:27:08I'm going to need some volunteer cookie labour to get them decorated.
00:27:11Heavens to Betsy, is that the time?
00:27:13Oh, come on, Dad.
00:27:14It'll be fun.
00:27:15You remember your mother never let me anywhere near the decorating.
00:27:19He can't be that bad.
00:27:20No, he's right.
00:27:22I'd forgotten.
00:27:23They'd end up looking more like a Picasso than a gingerbread bag.
00:27:26So, I'm off the hook and off to bed.
00:27:29You can stick around and watch if you want.
00:27:31No, no, no.
00:27:31You too.
00:27:32Stay.
00:27:34I'll see you in the morning.
00:27:36Good night, Emma.
00:27:37Oh, it's lovely to have you back.
00:27:40Me too.
00:27:40Good night, Oliver.
00:27:42Night.
00:27:42So, what I'm hearing is that you're asking for help.
00:27:49I'd prefer to think of it as an exchange.
00:27:53How do you think?
00:27:54Well, if you're writing a travel article on the town in the inn, you're going to need a tour guide.
00:28:00Someone who really knows the place and the people.
00:28:04Basically me.
00:28:07You've really got this all figured out, don't you?
00:28:09If you think about it, it's more like I'm doing you the favour.
00:28:13Not that I'm kicking school or anything.
00:28:15Oh, of course not.
00:28:17So, do we have a deal?
00:28:19You drive a hard bargain.
00:28:22Fine.
00:28:23It's a deal.
00:28:29Why do we start?
00:28:32So, what kinds of Christmas traditions does your family have?
00:28:50Nothing much, really.
00:28:52You've never decorated the trees together?
00:28:55Nope.
00:28:55My mum did have this artificial tree that she never undecorated.
00:29:02What?
00:29:03Yeah, she strung it with lights and put all the decorations on it and then wrapped it in a blanket and kept it in a cupboard under the stairs.
00:29:11Every year she'd just bring it out and plug it in.
00:29:13Ta-da!
00:29:13New Year's Day, she'd wrap it back up in the blanket and put it straight back in the cupboards.
00:29:20Well, I suppose that was a practical approach.
00:29:23So, you've never gone in search of the perfect Christmas tree or any other real traditions?
00:29:28No, for me, Christmas has always just kind of been another day.
00:29:32We've got a couple of presents, though.
00:29:36I can't imagine that.
00:29:38It was okay.
00:29:38I guess you can't really miss something you've never had.
00:29:44Besides, it appears the Holiday Inn is missing a Christmas tree.
00:29:48Kind of you to notice, and I plan to remedy that as soon as I can.
00:29:55I can't say becoming a professional baker is in my future, but overall, not bad.
00:30:02You did great, and I'd never have got them finished in time if it wasn't for you, so thanks.
00:30:08Happy to trade some cookie labour for a personal tour of the town.
00:30:12Okay.
00:30:13Well, to sweeten that deal, I've got an idea.
00:30:16I've got something special I want to show you.
00:30:18Oh, I don't know.
00:30:20It is kind of getting late.
00:30:22You sound like an old man.
00:30:24I'm getting your coat.
00:30:26Yes, ma'am.
00:30:27Far be it from me to argue with such conviction.
00:30:36What's that?
00:30:37We'll see.
00:30:45I didn't know stargazing was a typical Christmas tradition.
00:30:49When I was a little girl, every Christmas Eve, Dad would take me out.
00:31:01And we'd watch for hours, hoping for a glimpse of Father Christmas on his sleigh.
00:31:08In summer, he'd teach me about the constellations.
00:31:10Here, you take a look.
00:31:22Pretty cool, right?
00:31:24Yeah.
00:31:26You see three stars in a row?
00:31:28That's Orion's belt.
00:31:29Two of the brightest stars in the sky are in the Orion constellation.
00:31:34I didn't know that.
00:31:38You really know your stuff?
00:31:39I've got Dad to thank for that.
00:31:42It took me years to work out that all those years of teaching were just his way of spending time with me.
00:31:48Oh, hey, you've got to see this.
00:32:00Quick.
00:32:00Close your eyes.
00:32:01Make a wish.
00:32:02Oh, I...
00:32:02Just do it.
00:32:03Oh.
00:32:31So, what did you wish?
00:32:33Sure.
00:32:34I can't tell you that, otherwise it won't come true.
00:32:39Please.
00:32:40I'm gonna...
00:32:41She...
00:32:41Oh, it's freezing.
00:32:52I'm gonna head back in.
00:32:56But, hey, thanks.
00:32:59I'll put this on my list.
00:33:02What list?
00:33:03New Christmas traditions.
00:33:04Oh, good morning, everyone.
00:33:24Oh, good morning.
00:33:25How did you sleep?
00:33:26Oh, like a rock.
00:33:28There you are.
00:33:28It must be all the fresh air.
00:33:31It's a good thing, because we've got a busy day ahead of us.
00:33:33Emma tells me you're writing an article about the town and the inn.
00:33:38Well, that could have helped to attract more tourists.
00:33:40Yeah, I, um, it's definitely a working vacation.
00:33:44Well, it couldn't come at a better time.
00:33:46We need to publish it to get this place back on its feet.
00:33:50You're a good man.
00:33:51Thank you, Oliver.
00:33:54Actually, I'm not really a...
00:33:55So, if the cookies are done, would you be ready in five?
00:34:01Sure thing, boss.
00:34:02Boss?
00:34:03Kind of like that.
00:34:05Dad, you sure you don't want to come with us?
00:34:08No, I'll see you at the festival later.
00:34:09I've got some errands to run.
00:34:11Okay, well, do you want to meet us somewhere?
00:34:15I'll find you.
00:34:16How are you going to find us?
00:34:18Well, it's not a big place.
00:34:19Well, wouldn't it just be easier to find a time and place to meet?
00:34:23If you have to know, I shall be at Molly's helping her to set up.
00:34:27Molly, eh?
00:34:29She talked me into it yesterday when we were at the shop.
00:34:32You know she's got a crush on you.
00:34:34Don't be silly.
00:34:36I've known her for years.
00:34:38We're just friends.
00:34:39I know a crush when I see one.
00:34:41Oh, I'm far too old.
00:34:43I'm far too old for this sort of thing.
00:34:46You're only too old if you believe it.
00:34:48You might find out you like it too if you give it a chance.
00:34:51What's the harm?
00:34:52As they say,
00:34:54if it isn't broke,
00:34:56don't fix it.
00:34:57What's a city boy like you doing with a truck like that?
00:35:11Oh, it's a present to myself on my first race.
00:35:14Yeah.
00:35:15I used to be driving around in one as a kid.
00:35:18It's nice when something brings back to memory.
00:35:20So, but we've dropped the cookies first
00:35:23and then go full festival mode.
00:35:26So what does that involve?
00:35:27Well, the festival is one of the biggest tourist draws we have.
00:35:31The town really pulls out all the stops.
00:35:33Let's do everything.
00:35:36Everything?
00:35:38Like what?
00:35:39Like every single thing.
00:35:42Sounds like an adventure.
00:35:43You don't know what you're in for.
00:35:45You don't know what you're in for.
00:36:13Bye bye.
00:36:34Bye bye.

00:40:23Oh, I don't know. I haven't skated since I was a kid.
00:40:26I'm really not very good.
00:40:28Are you chickening out? I wouldn't have accepted that from you.
00:40:31I wouldn't exactly call it chickening out.
00:40:33Why damage control?
00:40:34Oh, come on. It'll be like riding a bike. It'll all come back.
00:40:38Fine. But I'm holding you personally responsible for my well-being.
00:40:41I don't know.
00:40:42I don't know.
00:40:43I don't know.
00:40:47I don't know.
00:40:49What a lie.
00:40:49I don't know.
00:40:51I don't know.
00:40:51What a lie.
00:40:53What a lie.
00:40:53What a lie.
00:40:53What a lie.
00:40:53What a lie.
00:40:54What a lie.
00:40:55What a lie.
00:40:56I don't know.
00:40:57No matter who you cry, I don't know.
00:40:58It's not over time.
00:40:59We'll ruin it Christmas time.
00:41:01A lie.
00:41:02This is not over time.
00:41:04If you think a lie.
00:41:06You're Итак, it's not over time.
00:41:07You're a great workout.
00:41:07You're a robot, he'll lose your life.
00:41:09I will drink and enjoy it.
00:41:11You're not sure.
00:41:11The roof is on the run, it's Christmas time at the end
00:41:16Santa's checking his listing, though he's got a chip in the phone
00:41:23Don't want to go away, but to come to always be the same
00:41:30It's hard to take Christmas tree, but I'm trying to drive
00:41:34Take a good time, Christmas time
00:41:36Share the names of the friends and family, it's Christmas time
00:41:40Take it slowly, get your balance
00:41:45I don't know about balance, I'm just trying not to face plant the ice
00:42:02Hug onto my arm
00:42:05And get a feel
00:42:10Santa's checking in this night, the roof is gonna check it
00:42:15You didn't break
00:42:17Your job was very good
00:42:19Promise me one thing
00:42:21What's that?
00:42:22If you go down, try not to save anything
00:42:25I can't make any promises
00:42:27I do my best
00:42:28Okay, I think I've got it
00:42:33Okay, I think I've got it
00:42:47Show off!
00:42:48What?
00:42:49Oh, I used to be so much better, I'm so out of practice
00:42:52Oh well, right now you're just a blatant reminder of my lack of ability
00:42:57Stick around long enough, you might get some ice skating skills of your own
00:43:01I'm not sure I'll be able to get there in just a couple of days
00:43:04You seem like the kind of guy who'd do anything if you put your mind to it
00:43:08I'd like to make so, but this challenge seems a bit out of my comfort zone
00:43:14Aw, it's good to get out of your comfort zone
00:43:17Come on!
00:43:18I guess I'm the one out of my comfort zone now
00:43:33Time's up!
00:43:34Please make your way off the ice
00:43:40Did you hurt anything?
00:43:42Only my pride
00:43:44Well, let's take what's left of it and get out of here
00:43:48Do you want to go in and warm up with a coffee?
00:44:08No, there's an idea
00:44:11Are you not having fun?
00:44:13Oh, no, no, I'm kidding
00:44:16Look, today's been amazing
00:44:18I just thought it'd be nice to sit down for a minute
00:44:21And nurse my bruised ego
00:44:23You're a tough lady to keep up with
00:44:26I'm just really excited to be here
00:44:33After you
00:44:34After you
00:44:35Ah, you finally showed up!
00:44:38I told Ben you'd be here sooner or later
00:44:41Speaking of Dad, have you seen him? He was supposed to meet us
00:44:44Been here all day, just as well too
00:44:47We've been really busy
00:44:49I couldn't have managed without him
00:44:51Woo!
00:44:52He actually seems like he's enjoying himself
00:44:56He is!
00:44:58Now, what can I get you to?
00:44:59Something pepperminty?
00:45:01I've got just the thing
00:45:02What about you?
00:45:04Today's all been about getting out of my comfort zone
00:45:07So, why don't you surprise me?
00:45:09Oh, and who doesn't love a surprise, eh?
00:45:12What, you up to you, Dad?
00:45:13Got a new job?
00:45:14Hm?
00:45:15Well, I can think of worse ideas, mind you
00:45:18The boss is a bit of a taskmaster
00:45:21To pay you?
00:45:22Mind you, I'm enjoying myself enormously
00:45:25Well, maybe I'll hire you back for another day
00:45:28Hire?
00:45:29You mean this job pays?
00:45:31All the coffee and pastries you want
00:45:33Along with my excellent company
00:45:35Where do I sign up?
00:45:38Here you go
00:45:41Sorry
00:45:42Not a problem at all?
00:45:45Well, it shouldn't be a problem
00:45:47What does that mean?
00:45:49Well, I've been hearing all day
00:45:50What a lovely couple you two make
00:45:53See, I told you where to be around town
00:45:56This is Jen's doing
00:45:58I shouldn't worry about it, Emma
00:46:00They'll be talking about something else tomorrow
00:46:02Like you said, you're only here for a couple of days
00:46:04It takes too much energy to put out a gossip fire
00:46:07Sometimes it can make it worse
00:46:08I suppose you're right
00:46:09We'll be going our separate ways in a few days anyway
00:46:12So no one will know the difference
00:46:14Let's get going
00:46:16I thought we were going to hang out here for a bit
00:46:18You know, and sit down
00:46:20Yeah, but there's something that I want to show you
00:46:22Besides, I think Dad's break might be over
00:46:25She's right
00:46:27Back to work, you
00:46:28And no more muffins
00:46:30Oh, I can't have that
00:46:31See you two at home
00:46:32Bye
00:46:33I'm going, I'm going
00:46:34I'm going, I'm going
00:46:36They're cute, you know
00:46:38Who?
00:46:39Your dad and mine
00:46:40Oh
00:46:41I just think yesterday I heard him say that
00:46:43They're just old friends
00:46:44No chance of romance
00:46:46And now
00:46:48Now they're acting like a couple of teenagers
00:46:51I'm not sure I'd go that far, but
00:46:53Who'd have thought
00:46:55Those kind of feelings could develop so fast
00:46:57Must be some sort of Christmas miracle
00:47:05Do you really believe in that kind of thing?
00:47:12Stop
00:47:14Look
00:47:21Wow
00:47:22You are witnessing
00:47:28The annual parade of Christmas trees
00:47:32People around here get super into it
00:47:35I can see that
00:47:37It's how the festival started
00:47:40Just a few people
00:47:42With a few trees
00:47:44And every year it kept growing
00:47:45And now
00:47:46I had no idea when I came here that
00:47:49This town was going to surprise me like this
00:47:52This is my favourite place in the world
00:47:57I used to come here when I was a kid
00:47:59When I wanted to be alone and think
00:48:02The guy had broken up with me or
00:48:06Hadn't passed a test
00:48:12When mum died
00:48:17This park has got me through
00:48:19Some of the hardest times in my life
00:48:22Some of the most important too
00:48:26I can see why this place is so special
00:48:28It's more than that
00:48:32It's like
00:48:34My touchstone
00:48:36The place that lets me know everything's going to be okay
00:48:39Everything's going to be okay
00:48:53What's this?
00:48:55Jen's not here
00:48:57You don't have to put on an act
00:48:59You never know who's watching
00:49:00You never know who's watching
00:49:02Consider it practice in case we run into her again
00:49:06Besides
00:49:08It's kinda nice
00:49:09Right?
00:49:12It is kinda nice
00:49:17Thanks for sharing this place with me
00:49:19I'd like it to that list of Christmas traditions I've never experienced
00:49:21You don't live here
00:49:23Maybe I'll have to come back
00:49:25Maybe I'll have to come back
00:49:26You don't know
00:49:32Oh, sorry
00:49:36Oh, it's my boss
00:49:37Editor
00:49:38He'll just keep calling if I don't answer it
00:49:40I'll just be a minute
00:49:41Larry?
00:49:46Yeah, I thought you were going to give me some space to handle this
00:49:49Are you?
00:49:51Haven't heard from you all day
00:49:53Thought you'd have this thing signed, sealed and delivered by now and be on your way back
00:49:58Look, it's a little more complicated than I thought
00:50:00I need more time
00:50:02Time's the one thing you don't have
00:50:04Look, these are good people
00:50:06People?
00:50:08Who else besides the old man?
00:50:10I-I told you his daughter's here
00:50:13No, no, no, it's not what you think
00:50:15You still haven't told her who you are, have you?
00:50:18It's not exactly the easiest thing to drop into conversation
00:50:21You need to remember what you're there to do
00:50:24And it's not to complicate things
00:50:26Because you've developed some little crush
00:50:29Get the deal done by tomorrow
00:50:32But it's Christmas
00:50:34Seems like pretty cold timing to shake down the family business then
00:50:36Oh don't get soft on me Oliver, you've got one job to do
00:50:42Just do it
00:50:56Look at that one, isn't it the cutest?
00:50:59Yeah, I guess
00:51:01Hey, what's up?
00:51:04Something happened?
00:51:06Is it work?
00:51:08Yeah, but I...
00:51:10Oh, well, I know
00:51:12Right, here's the thing
00:51:15I'm gonna stop you right there
00:51:17It's Christmas
00:51:19You're having a pretty great time, right?
00:51:22Pretty great
00:51:24So one phone call
00:51:26Hey, here's my boss
00:51:28Isn't allowed to take away from the great time that we've been having
00:51:31Whatever that call was, just forget about it
00:51:35Let's just have a good night
00:51:38Can you do that?
00:51:40For me?
00:51:41For me?
00:51:46I'll do it
00:51:48But just remember, I did it for you
00:51:51Good
00:51:53Now
00:51:56Shake it off
00:52:00Come on
00:52:02Come on
00:52:03Again
00:52:07Again
00:52:13Better?
00:52:15Yeah
00:52:17I actually feel better
00:52:20That's the Christmas spirit
00:52:22Don't let anybody
00:52:24Or anything
00:52:25Take that away
00:52:27I'm afraid Jen
00:52:32Is somewhere hiding?
00:52:34No
00:52:36Like you said
00:52:38It's kinda nice
00:52:40Glad you agree
00:52:42Sticking with the theme of traditions you haven't experienced
00:52:46I've got a great idea for us tomorrow
00:52:49I'm afraid to ask
00:52:51Trust me
00:52:53You're gonna love it
00:52:57There's love and laughter in the end
00:53:00There's love and laughter in the end
00:53:03It's cold as hell but I don't care
00:53:07Why did you let me sleep so many, Dad?
00:53:10I've got so much stuff to do
00:53:12Oh, wow
00:53:14Didn't expect to see this
00:53:16I have many hidden talents
00:53:18And when did you last sleep past the crack of dawn?
00:53:21What you've told me at your fancy gym of yours most days
00:53:24Before you start your 15 hour work day?
00:53:28Is that true?
00:53:30It was
00:53:32Being gainfully unemployed hasn't been so bad
00:53:35Thank you
00:53:37If you don't mind me asking, what happened?
00:53:42Let's just say it was a matter of principle
00:53:44I'd got tired of other people calling the shots
00:53:47Especially when I thought they were the wrong shots
00:53:48I thought it was very brave of her
00:53:51Maybe not the smartest move but honestly I do feel free
00:53:57I just hope it was the right thing
00:54:01These things have a way of working themselves out
00:54:04Here we are
00:54:06So have you decided what your next career move should be?
00:54:10Not yet
00:54:12But I do know I want it to be something I offered me
00:54:16If I know my little girl
00:54:18She'll land on her feet
00:54:23I can't believe you're going back to work for Molly again after calling us such a tough boss
00:54:27Yes
00:54:28Who'd have thought it?
00:54:30That must be a glutton for punishment
00:54:34Well, whatever you are, I'm glad you're doing something you enjoy
00:54:38Do you know, I really am
00:54:41Just don't tell her that
00:54:43I think it's too late for that
00:54:49Right
00:54:51You and I have a mission
00:54:53Why, where are we off?
00:54:55Well, I promised you a Christmas full of new traditions, right?
00:54:58I do recall that promise
00:55:00Look at this place
00:55:01Does it look Christmassy to you?
00:55:05The answer's no
00:55:07But we're going to change that
00:55:09Starting with going up into the attic and finding all the decorations
00:55:14Then, we're going to give the Holiday Inn the royal treatment
00:55:19Sounds like a lot of work for one day
00:55:22It'll be worth it
00:55:28Quickly!
00:55:30Cha-cha!
00:55:46Find anything?
00:55:48Not yet
00:55:49Maybe there's some sort of system to storage
00:55:52You've met my dad, does that sound like him?
00:55:55Um, yeah, right
00:55:58Ah-ha!
00:56:00Look at this!
00:56:02Cute
00:56:04Were you always an overachiever?
00:56:06Yeah, pretty much
00:56:07Pretty much
00:56:08I can figure
00:56:10Hmm
00:56:11Yeah
00:56:13Um
00:56:15Oh!
00:56:17Here he is!
00:56:19Jackpot!
00:56:20Oh, well this is great!
00:56:33What's wrong?
00:56:35We have a problem
00:56:37We don't have a tree
00:56:38Ah, you did mention that
00:56:42The excitement of finding the decorations
00:56:44I sort of forgot
00:56:46Then there's only one thing for it
00:56:47Something for it
00:56:48What about this one?
00:57:02No!
00:57:03Not gonna work!
00:57:04Why not?
00:57:05Look at that flat spot
00:57:09What about this one?
00:57:10No!
00:57:11Not gonna work!
00:57:12Why not?
00:57:14Look at that flat spot
00:57:15Check out this one!
00:57:16It's okay!
00:57:17Some people like a tall thing
00:57:18It's okay!
00:57:19Some people like a tall thing
00:57:20No!
00:57:21No!
00:57:22Not gonna work!
00:57:23No!
00:57:24Not gonna work!
00:57:25Why not?
00:57:27Look at that flat spot
00:57:29Look at that flat spot
00:57:39Check out this one!
00:57:41It's okay!
00:57:42It's okay!
00:57:43Some people like a tall skinny tree
00:57:45I'm just a more is more kind of girl
00:57:48Let's keep looking
00:57:50I tried
00:58:07I can't believe it
00:58:09Finding a tree like this
00:58:10So close to Christmas
00:58:11Is like
00:58:13Finding a unicorn
00:58:15So this is the one?
00:58:17This is the one
00:58:19Just a few more things
00:58:20And then we can hit the road
00:58:33This is just a few more things?
00:58:35It's my epic Christmas dream
00:58:38I want to surprise dad
00:58:39By doing it all big like we used to
00:58:41Well I for one
00:58:42Definitely can't wait to experience
00:58:43A very Emma Christmas
00:58:45I know
00:58:47How about I run across the road
00:58:48And get us a couple of hot drinks
00:58:50Yeah?
00:58:51It's like you read my mind
00:58:52Here you go
00:59:02Thanks
00:59:04Actually there's something else I'd like to get
00:59:08Just take a second
00:59:09Do you need any help finding it?
00:59:10Thanks
00:59:12I know exactly what I want
00:59:13What's he up to?
00:59:18I have no idea
00:59:20But he's got that look in his eyes
00:59:23What look?
00:59:24Like a man on a mission
00:59:26And I suspect it involves your daughter
00:59:28Well, everyone needs a purpose
00:59:33Speaking of which
00:59:36Would you be open to my
00:59:38Continuing to help out around the shop?
00:59:42Well I don't want you in the polls
00:59:45You've already helped so much
00:59:47Well, I don't know
00:59:49It's been kind of fun
00:59:52I think we make a really great team
01:00:00Well
01:00:02That might be a good idea
01:00:05To be a team
01:00:09Listen Molly, when
01:00:11Claire died
01:00:13Well I didn't think I'd feel anything for anyone ever again
01:00:18I've enjoyed spending time with you
01:00:23And I want to keep on doing it
01:00:29Ben
01:00:32I've had a crush on you since college
01:00:36Maybe I should have told you sooner
01:00:45Better late than never
01:00:52No
01:00:53No
01:01:07No
01:01:08No
01:01:10No
01:01:12No
01:01:14No
01:01:17No
01:01:19No
01:01:50The next bit is the best part.
01:02:03There's more.
01:02:20The next bit is the best part.
01:02:50The next bit is the best part.
01:03:20The next bit is the best part.
01:03:50The holly and the ivy, when they are the full crown of all the...
01:04:12Well, isn't this something?
01:04:19I hope you don't mind, but we decided to spruce up the place.
01:04:24Oh, it's just beautiful.
01:04:31Oh, it feels like Christmas.
01:04:35That was the plan.
01:04:36Of course, it might be the last one we've spent here.
01:04:41Dad, I've told you, I'm not going to let some soulless corporation erase everything that you've built here.
01:04:47I'll do everything that I can to save this place.
01:04:50All I can say is seeing the inn like this makes me remember the good old days.
01:04:57Anyway, enough talking of Selene for the moment.
01:05:01Just look at what you have done.
01:05:04You two, Oliver.
01:05:05This is the best Christmas gift ever.
01:05:08Sorry, it's work. I've got to take this.
01:05:16Don't they know it's Christmas?
01:05:18It's my boss.
01:05:18Such an enthusiastic greeting.
01:05:31I take it from your lack of communication that there hasn't been any problems.
01:05:35Look, I think we should pull out of the deal.
01:05:37Not your call to make.
01:05:39I'm just not comfortable doing your dirty work anymore.
01:05:42Never seemed like a problem before.
01:05:43That's because I never saw the people that it affected.
01:05:46Told you this wasn't about making friends.
01:05:49It's more than that, Larry.
01:05:50This place, this town, it's special.
01:05:54The Holiday Inn shouldn't be bulldozed for some conference centre.
01:05:58They don't make them like this anymore.
01:06:01Do you have any idea how much we've already spent on plans?
01:06:05Hmm? Architects, studies.
01:06:06Look, if you could just see the place.
01:06:10Oh, I will.
01:06:11From a penthouse view when the resort is built.
01:06:14No. Not if I can help it.
01:06:17I'm going to come clean and tell her everything.
01:06:19And then, then I'm going to figure out a way to save the inn.
01:06:23You know this is career suicide.
01:06:26You'll be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:31Well, maybe that's a good thing.
01:06:33You do understand what you're saying?
01:06:35Never more clear than this moment.
01:06:39Goodbye, Larry.
01:06:39I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:41I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:42I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:43I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:44I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:46I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:48I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:49I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:50I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:51I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:52I'm going to be blacklisted so hard you'll never work again in this industry.
01:06:54Oh, my God.
01:07:24Come on.
01:07:54What?
01:08:00What is it?
01:08:05Take a walk with me.
01:08:23What is it?
01:08:24It's just a little Christmas present.
01:08:29I haven't got you anything.
01:08:32Yeah.
01:08:33Oliver.
01:08:34Please, just open it.
01:08:49Oh.
01:08:50Oh, Oliver, it's too much.
01:08:56Emma, you've given me so much in these past few days.
01:09:02You shared with me who you are, your family's memories and traditions.
01:09:06Friends, I just wanted to give you something back.
01:09:12You really didn't need to, but thank you.
01:09:17This is probably one of the most thoughtful gifts that anyone's ever given me.
01:09:20You deserve good things all the time.
01:09:23Look, I...
01:09:25I can't believe I'm saying this, but I...
01:09:30I didn't think it was possible to feel like this about someone so quick.
01:09:36It's a connection.
01:09:37I really...
01:09:38I don't want it to...
01:09:38I don't want it to end.
01:09:40Neither do I.
01:09:42I...
01:09:42I don't want to go back to my real life.
01:09:45Maybe this could be your new real life.
01:09:48What do you mean?
01:09:50Look, I've been thinking.
01:09:52You said you want your next career move to be something you love, right?
01:09:55Yeah.
01:09:56And you really seem to love the Holiday Inn.
01:10:00So much.
01:10:01And Ben has said on more than one occasion, there's become too much for him to handle.
01:10:07Are you thinking that I should...
01:10:09Yes.
01:10:10Take over the Holiday Inn.
01:10:12That's exactly what I'm thinking.
01:10:15I...
01:10:15I hadn't even thought about that.
01:10:17I've just been trying to find ways to save it.
01:10:20This is a way to save it.
01:10:22Think about it.
01:10:23You're so smart and you're good with people.
01:10:26And I see the way you light up when you talk about this place.
01:10:31But if Dad can't keep it afloat with all his experience, how am I supposed to do it on my own?
01:10:38Emma, Holly, I've never met such a positive, more determined person in all my life.
01:10:45I know you can do anything you set your mind to.
01:10:53And there's one other thing.
01:10:59Maybe you wouldn't have to do it alone.
01:11:03Maybe if it's okay with you, I could stick around and help run it with you.
01:11:11What do you say?
01:11:12Do I say yes?
01:11:33I still get to be the boss, though, right?
01:11:37Obviously.
01:11:38Let's go and tell Dad.
01:11:39Dad!
01:11:50Dad!
01:11:52Dad!
01:11:58Forgot something in town back in a jiffy.
01:12:01What do you bet that what he forgot was just an excuse to see Molly?
01:12:05Wouldn't surprise me.
01:12:06He's pretty smitten.
01:12:07Seems to be going around.
01:12:25Ooh, does your Dad have any more of that mulled cider?
01:12:28Yeah, there should be some warming on the stove.
01:12:30Where are the glasses?
01:12:40One sec.
01:12:41Here we are, two mulled ciders.
01:13:03It's not what it looks like, okay?
01:13:11It's exactly what it looks like, but not anymore.
01:13:15What do you think it looks like?
01:13:18Because I think it looks like you came here to spy and then pull the rug out from under us.
01:13:24Was that your plan?
01:13:25Get clothes, find out everything you can, and then get my Dad to sign his life's work away?
01:13:32No.
01:13:33Yes, yes.
01:13:33At first it was just about getting the deal done.
01:13:36And that bit about being a travel writer?
01:13:38I never actually said that.
01:13:39You just assumed.
01:13:39Oh, right.
01:13:41Yeah, so now that's my fault.
01:13:43No, I'm not saying that.
01:13:44I'm just...
01:13:45Why didn't you correct me?
01:13:47I don't know.
01:13:49I don't know.
01:13:51It just seemed easier to go along with it.
01:13:53So this is just one big lie.
01:13:57All part of your little plan.
01:14:00I should have known you seemed too good to be true.
01:14:04I mean, it started out like that, but...
01:14:09When I got to know you, and care about you, things changed.
01:14:15And I'm supposed to believe that.
01:14:21I trusted you.
01:14:23I thought we had something special, but it's all just a trick to get your soulless company's hands on the inn.
01:14:29No.
01:14:30This is real.
01:14:33I fell just as hard.
01:14:37And I was serious about staying here.
01:14:40Sure.
01:14:41There's part of the resort that's going to bulldoze this place to the ground.
01:14:44No, everything's changed.
01:14:46What we have.
01:14:47Apart from that small detail you forgot to mention.
01:14:52We're a fraud.
01:14:54I'm sorry I wasn't honest.
01:14:58I was just afraid that if you knew who I was, that what we have, it would...
01:15:05It would all be over.
01:15:06How did you think this was going to end?
01:15:21Well, I hope you're happy.
01:15:27I'm sorry, Dad.
01:15:28I'm sorry, Dad.
01:15:48But...
01:16:21I'm giving up so soon.
01:16:38Look, Ben, I truly am sorry.
01:16:46You were just doing your job.
01:16:49I get it.
01:16:51Well, I've just quit my job, so that's not a problem anymore.
01:16:56I'm talking about not being honest.
01:16:59I should have been straight with you and Emma from the start.
01:17:03I can't argue with that.
01:17:05Let's talk.
01:17:15Let's talk.
01:17:15The festival, decorating the tree, the inn, never experienced anything like this.
01:17:27And I didn't want it to end.
01:17:31I can understand that.
01:17:33I really did start to care about you and the inn.
01:17:40And Emma.
01:17:43Especially Emma.
01:17:44I was just trying to find a way to dig myself out.
01:17:51I was in too deep.
01:17:52Now, now, now I've ruined everything.
01:17:59So you really are giving up.
01:18:02What else can I do?
01:18:04She hates me.
01:18:05In my experience, anger is just a symptom of hurt.
01:18:16Emma doesn't open up to most people.
01:18:20When she finally did.
01:18:23You made her wish that she hadn't.
01:18:28Look.
01:18:29I've only known you a short time, but
01:18:33I've been watching you.
01:18:36I think you're a good man that made a bad decision.
01:18:41Not only that.
01:18:43I know my daughter.
01:18:45You lit up a spark in her that
01:18:47I haven't seen in a long while.
01:18:53Do you think there's any way I can make it right with her?
01:18:59Depends how badly you want it.
01:19:01More than anything.
01:19:03Then go and find her.
01:19:07And tell her what you told me.
01:19:09Then you might stand a chance.
01:19:16I'll give you everything I've got.
01:19:26Back so soon.
01:19:28No, I've just realized I have no idea where she is.
01:19:30I'm sure you'll figure it out.
01:19:34I'll do my best.
01:19:37This has been the most
01:19:38unconventional Christmas ever.
01:19:43Don't you agree, Mr. Jingles?
01:19:46Oh, yeah.
01:19:48Good boy, I'll check.
01:19:49Come on.
01:19:49Come on.
01:19:50Yes, you are.
01:19:51Happy Christmas.
01:19:52Happy Christmas.
01:19:52I don't want to talk to you.
01:20:02Emma, please.
01:20:03Give me a chance to explain.
01:20:06Explain?
01:20:08What are you even doing here?
01:20:10I understand.
01:20:11You got what you wanted.
01:20:11I'm so sorry I hurt you.
01:20:14I made a mistake.
01:20:17A terrible, terrible mistake.
01:20:20I should have been straight with you from the start.
01:20:22But you would have shut me out and we never would have gotten to know each other.
01:20:28I lied.
01:20:29And that was wrong.
01:20:30You made me care about you and that's not something I do easily.
01:20:39I believed in this thing between us.
01:20:42I believed in you.
01:20:44All I've ever cared about was the job, the deals, the money.
01:20:51Until you.
01:20:53You showed me that there's so much more.
01:20:57I'm not the same guy that showed up here.
01:20:58Being with you, it makes me want to be a better man.
01:21:09You really hurt me.
01:21:11And that was the last thing I ever wanted to do.
01:21:15But if you'll give me a chance, I will spend the rest of my life proving to you that what
01:21:23I'm telling you now is the truth.
01:21:25I promise, I promise, with all my heart, you are everything.
01:21:36But if you'll give me the chance, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you...
01:21:48Do you really mean that?
01:22:01I promise, I promise, I promise, I promise, I promise, you are everything.
01:22:26So, just to confirm, that's a yes, right?
01:22:33A definite yes.
01:22:47I'm just not.
01:22:56So, I guess that's another Christmas tradition I'll add to my list.
01:23:07What's that?
01:23:08I'm going to bring you back to this park every year at Christmas and kiss you again.
01:23:26Christmas has always had a special place here at the Holiday Inn, but the memories we've made over the years and the laughter and joy we've shared, but...
01:23:41Somehow, I managed to lose all of that.
01:23:49But somehow, you three have managed to bring it back and give it meaning.
01:23:57For the first time in a long while, I have hope.
01:24:06So, here's to new love.
01:24:14New beginnings and the new owners of the Holiday Inn.
01:24:19I'm looking forward with great expectations to see what the next year will bring.
01:24:26So, oh, Merry Christmas.
01:24:30Cheers.
01:24:38Merry Christmas.
01:24:40Cheers.
01:24:41And it will be...
01:24:42Should we stay on the leave?
01:24:43Do you know what we want to do?
01:24:44We asked you.
01:24:46We asked him.
01:24:50We met in everything.
01:24:52Oh yeah, who checked with her.
01:24:53For us, I'm pretty cute as well.
01:24:55Oh!
01:24:56Oh lil hoess
01:24:57Fuck you.
