01:50Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
01:53You just introduced me as the anari.
01:58Sushi, I'm gonna ask her.
01:59Why have they come with a bodyguard?
02:03Hello.
02:04Hello.
02:06Why have you got a bodyguard?
02:08You will always be there.
02:09Why?
02:10Why do security people...
02:11Yeah, why do you have this?
02:12I have this.
02:13Why?
02:14Why?
02:15Do you have your wife here?
02:16Why do you have a security person?
02:17That's why.
02:18That's why.
02:19Hey.
02:20Will I be okay?
02:21Shri Tumizawa.
02:23Thank you, Shri.
02:24You need protection from me?
02:25But I was the one who needed to...
02:26To protect him?
02:27Yeah, absolutely.
02:28You just introduced me as the anari.
02:30Thanks a lot.
02:31No, no.
02:32Absolutely not.
02:33We told them to decide who is the anari and who is the khiladi.
02:36What, between us two?
02:37Yeah.
02:38There's no...
02:39But didn't you just say that for so many years you've played his...
02:42I can't say the word.
02:43Well, I can.
02:44His bitch.
02:45So, now you are the khiladi, he is the anari on our show.
02:48I'm saying finally I'm doing a movie where I've got a great role with him.
02:52Yeah.
02:53But let me tell you...
02:54I've always...
02:55I've had...
02:56Show them now.
02:57How are you going to show your acting to Spian, sir?
02:59Like that?
03:00Okay, can you do your visually impaired person properly?
03:02Well, he gave me the best piece of direction I've got in a very long time.
03:05He saw something I did in the first take and he said, okay, stop, stop.
03:08And then he said, hey, Saif, Saif, I have an idea.
03:10Open your eyes and pretend you can't see.
03:13So, I said...
03:15That was perfect.
03:16That was good.
03:17That was it.
03:18Yeah.
03:19Amazing.
03:20But now you'll be seeing stars.
03:21That's the limit of my prep.
03:22Very, very hard.
03:23No, but you did a good job.
03:24Thank you very much.
03:25Thank you, sir.
03:26Let me tell you, he did a very good job in the film.
03:27I've been watching him.
03:28And you as well.
03:29And we finished about 60% of the film.
03:30You know, we don't want to make a lie.
03:32Come sit, man.
03:36Finally.
03:37You should put some warning there, you know.
03:39You don't even know when you're going to fall in.
03:41Nobody has fallen so far besides you.
03:44And we are wearing heels and stuff.
03:46That's true.
03:47Our eyesight is going.
03:48Okay.
03:49Thank you for being here.
03:50Just before we begin, I just want to say,
03:52I'm going to talk in Hindi.
03:53Okay.
03:54Why?
03:55Now, let's see who you are.
03:57I don't know.
03:58I don't know anything.
03:59But I'm going to talk in Hindi.
04:00Well done.
04:01I was wondering.
04:02To my opinion, this show's name is too much.
04:04I've seen some clips.
04:06And I can tell you both,
04:07that this show's name is two cheats.
04:09Two cheats.
04:10Because you all, anybody who sits here.
04:11Two cheats.
04:12Two cheats.
04:13Two cheats.
04:14We are very innocent.
04:15Let's have some voting there.
04:17Two cheats.
04:18Those who stand up.
04:19Two cheats.
04:20Two cheats.
04:21Look at that.
04:22Nobody.
04:23That's your personal photographer.
04:25It is.
04:26I know.
04:27So coming back to this sofa now.
04:28Twinkle, how do you feel, you know, interviewing your husband probably for the first time?
04:40I'm not telling you that.
04:41Probably not.
04:42She probably interviewed him before she married him.
04:43I interrogate him all the time.
04:44She interrogates him.
04:45I don't think she's interviewed him.
04:46But I want to tell you one thing.
04:48She's more nervous than me.
04:49Because at one point, both of you were her favorites.
04:53And today.
04:54We're still her favorites.
04:55One sec.
04:56And today.
04:57Absolutely.
04:58You don't want me to say this.
04:59But today.
05:00We finally have that guest on our couch.
05:01Who has had a bath in her bathroom.
05:03Hey Bhagawan.
05:04Yes.
05:05Sef.
05:06Please.
05:07I beg you.
05:08Sef.
05:11I beg you.
05:12So.
05:13So just to clarify this.
05:15Sef had come when.
05:17First when he came to.
05:18First when he came to Mumbai.
05:19Just to clarify.
05:20You weren't there.
05:21He lived three buildings away from me.
05:23And Malabar Hill.
05:24And he has come over.
05:25And he has.
05:26Had a bath at my place.
05:27When you were living in Osha Kiranon.
05:28Come.
05:29I can remember.
05:30I don't remember having a.
05:31She had a little camera there.
05:32So we have some images.
05:33Which.
05:34You know.
05:35She shared with me.
05:36Very kindly.
05:37A little camera to.
05:38Capture little things.
05:39Good girl.
05:40You were the first person I met.
05:41In terms of movies.
05:42When I came to Bombay.
05:43Absolutely.
05:44And we were living next to each other.
05:45Yes.
05:46And we were living next to each other.
05:48Yes.
05:49And we were living next to each other.
05:51Yes.
05:52I remember.
05:53I remember your house.
05:54And your flat.
05:55And you remember my mom telling you.
05:56That listen.
05:57If you want to have a bath here.
05:58Go and have a bath right now.
05:59Sweet.
06:00Of course.
06:01Yeah.
06:02But didn't you find Saeed Jaafri in your tub also.
06:03You have lots of bathroom stories.
06:04We did Ye Dilagi and Simla together.
06:05Yes.
06:06I don't know whether you remember that.
06:07And Jaafri Sahib was amazing.
06:08He was.
06:09He had.
06:10He rest in peace.
06:11He was.
06:12Sometimes he used to have a few drinks.
06:13And fall asleep on my shoulder.
06:14At a public function.
06:15And then wake up and said.
06:16He's still talking.
06:17He's this man.
06:18And he was really.
06:19Like really good fun.
06:20He was fab.
06:21So how did he end up in the.
06:22Did I use his bathroom.
06:23No, no, no, no.
06:24You were in your bathroom.
06:25And then your.
06:26But your door was open.
06:27I was having a tub bath.
06:28So he's got all his clothes.
06:29He's got all his clothes.
06:30All his clothes.
06:31Then he has.
06:32Remove the curtain of the bathroom.
06:33And he saw him naked inside.
06:34So he was that.
06:35And then he's got up.
06:36He took off the bathroom.
06:37And then he took off the bathroom.
06:38That's your job.
06:39He's got fun.
06:40He was fun.
06:41He was fun.
06:42So how did you end up in the.
06:43Did I use his bathroom.
06:44No, no, no.
06:45You were in your bathroom.
06:46And then.
06:47But your door was open.
06:48I was having a tub bath.
06:49Yeah.
06:50So his door was open.
06:51With candles.
06:52With candles.
06:53And then he came.
06:54And then.
06:55His room was the next.
06:56So he forgot it was his room.
06:57naked inside and he's wondering why is safe in my bathroom and he said nothing okay and he also
07:07entered they both were inside the tub no what where the stories become house full for
07:12i think you have to stop going in people's bathrooms or letting them into yours now we
07:20have too many images of you naked in the bathroom these things can happen to anyone
07:23guys later later so i believe that i believe that some astrologer predicted that you would get
07:33married to twinkle is that true yeah that what's the story behind it you say it's your interview
07:39it's not mine it's yours it's your astrologer yeah so my father had an astrologer who once said
07:45that i would marry akshay kumar and i didn't know him and then i married him yeah that was true that
07:51he was a very good astrologer i mean 18 years ago he said i'd become a well-known writer i hadn't
07:56written a thing so yeah you want his number i can give it to you i don't think i want to know i don't
08:01want to know the future i like the uncertainty absolutely like we were also not sure very deep
08:09i mean a lot of uncertainty we didn't know this was going to be
08:14what happened so you were you predicted the marriage he predicted that but we didn't really
08:19believe him he told your dad he told my dad we actually met because of my dad my dad had an old
08:24producer friend and you know like how some emperor says i have commanded that this happens my father
08:30said you have to work in this movie because i have given my word and i didn't want to work with him at
08:34that point but i did she was literally pushed in that film just do this film it was not because
08:39of you it was because of me because of me ask her no because she was working with amazing people like
08:45me why didn't you want to work with him he was going through a bad phase i was being snobby i had given
08:54lots of flops so she didn't want to do always given first many that's why she didn't want to work
09:01with me but this much i must tell you that once i got married to her my luck is together
09:05i said when i got married to her my luck changed after that luck was good before it was good before
09:13sorry sorry dumb yeah no no it was my marriage and it was my this thing it was my interview and it's
09:20my story it's your life and your peace of mind history is written by the people who write it
09:26she's going to be interviewing for me for the first time but uh let me tell you a story how we
09:33got married okay straight away
09:36there's no foreplay nothing straight away how we got married okay all right
09:43she didn't believe in that you know what she did she has removed my did my father have any kind of
09:53disease or genetic background all genetic all dna background she's removed from till my mamas and
09:59cha-chas and cha-chis to see what was the proof there what are the future problems exactly how the
10:04children are going to be and then and only then she decided that locate i can manage what kind of
10:10genetic is a no-no i don't want to be mean and really say that but yeah there were certain conditions
10:15that i would not agree to have in my genetic food guys who wore glasses yeah yeah i have a friend who
10:21hit the fact that she wore glasses till she got engaged and she got engaged the wrong guy
10:25you should take tips from her and there was another astrologer who predicted his marriage
10:32we were right there when all of this was happening oh she was also there yeah and at that point you
10:41went and you tattooed her name on your arm yes i that was a bit reckless but no it wasn't i was
10:46pretty sure that this is it in that sense but i wanted a tattoo so i said i'm going to get one on
10:50my shoulder and what should i get and i was talking to her about it and before i knew it
10:54it was the full name on my arm and i wanted something more subtle on the shoulder it wasn't
11:02actually the first person who knew about you and bebo well i'm not surprised if you did i mean i
11:06because i used to get up early and i saw him going somewhere i said what the hell are you doing
11:12where are you going you know honestly i had no eye when i went to ladhak i said okay now i don't want
11:17relationships it's time to focus on work and be single um and that worked out really well yeah i just
11:23shows you know and i remember but she was kind of we used to go for these long walks and she'd ask
11:28me a lot of questions which was like a kind of a test meets interview like what is your view on
11:33love and what do you think about all these things so we walked and walked and walked and then came
11:37back to her room and i thought maybe you know she'd ask me in for a further conversation and then her
11:43hairdresser himaji opened the door and she went and hid behind her and said okay bye i'll talk to you
11:48tomorrow so this kind of went on for a while it's very old-fashioned so between the two husbands
11:52one keeps it fairly private one makes his body into a billboard with tattoos now i have your name
11:59on my body no he does he also has a tattoo where i have seen it so you've seen it many times and
12:05your children i can't move it it's here every time you take your clothes off in front of me
12:10wow i have tina's name here my daughter's name here and my son's name here yeah it's branded for
12:18life yeah so twinkle has not gotten a tattoo of you do you think that's unfair no no absolutely not
12:23why no never pressurize them never pressurize them never never say anything nothing is permanent in life
12:30babe tattoos our marriages are not i don't want any tattoo i do buy me i'll have to change it
12:35both of y'all are very different y'all have very opposing viewpoints yeah i'm sure there are times
12:42when you just seriously cannot agree on certain things what is the one thing that keeps you coming
12:47see she's fire i'm water she says whatever she wants to i just keep myself calm quiet just listen
12:57try and understand what she's trying to say do whatever you want but listen
13:02i think every husband should be a very good listener or look like a good listener
13:10that depends on your ability to act he's sounding like my father you know he said that was his advice
13:19to me once when i said oh i'm having this fight or something and he said well i was much younger
13:23and he said no never fight so i said what do you what do you what do you do he said oh no i i you
13:29know think about playing cricket or something when during the argument and i don't say anything
13:33listen what he said just look like you're listening yeah yeah look look in the eyes think of
13:39something else my gosh and in the end say okay i understand i understand he's a pro that is so
13:45yeah this is so much to learn from you yeah but i don't agree i think actually love has very little
13:51to do with marriage it's a good starting point but marriage is about being a team it's like you are
13:56mahesh bhupati and leander pays you're whacking every ball that comes your side and also if mahesh
14:01bhupati and leander pays like to occasionally make out preferably twice a week and when the kids are
14:06first why why didn't you choose mixed doubles why didn't you choose mixed doubles as an example
14:11why and fanma very entertaining i mean i didn't understand i think that that's what it is you could
14:16have done i mean you could have done sanya mirza and mahesh bhupati yeah i could why i got inspired
14:22after seeing your bromance see i've always said that husbands should just stick to two lines
14:27you're right and i'm sorry yeah every kuch kuch or bolne ka koi fayda he nahi hai kyunke it's
14:31always wrong you get a t-shirt like that you just stop speaking i just wear it this side is you're
14:35right back hold the placard up i don't know are you still fighting with your wife no have not given
14:39up given up long back yeah yeah she's always right so there's no fight see which is why we have a fun
14:45segment called when your wife says we'll throw you a classic wife line and let's see if you know
14:51what that means okay okay so the first one is do whatever you want it's like i mean the first she's
14:57already said what i have to do and then she will say the statement do whatever you want that means
15:02do what i have told you so that is how it goes and what about you agree agree what if she says
15:08let's see or we'll see that what i'm saying only but we can you we can pretend we're going to discuss
15:15it again like even you have a say in the family even you can talk about whatever you want but
15:22we'll see means jo minabula where you know what we need to talk it's usually a bit of trouble or
15:30something maybe you've done something or you need to discuss something means you have done some big
15:35mistake and now what i'm going to tell you you have to follow yeah it's like a big mistake has been
15:42yeah that's what i'm saying oh my gosh okay i never took it so seriously when i say we need to
15:46talk i'm just like we need to talk no that's what you think and in your mind behind your mind you
15:52really have that thing like this that all depends see there are there are different different ways of
16:03saying we need to talk it's a very casual one we need to talk wow this delivery and then
16:11there's another thing in front of people if she says that that means that's very dangerous
16:16listen we need to talk okay i don't say this i'm not there are different different ways of saying it
16:22like in acting also we stay one sentence in different different way if we can we try to
16:27what if she says do i look fat in this what do you say we're holding hands throughout the show
16:36later later sorry twinkle it's okay you can finish all your footsie cuddling whatever y'all are doing
16:46what was it what if she says do i look fat in this what is your response obviously not never fat but you
16:53know what i have a feeling you must have asked bebo this that you look fat in this i remember
16:58i have telling me that oh thank god i've lose motions because i've lost a kilo and a half
17:02so this is very likely your question bebo do i look fat in this there is nothing like going to the
17:07loo loose or not to lose weight i once thought i'd lost two kilos
17:14okay now to more serious things come on absolutely yeah you got married pretty young
17:21yeah at 21 yes actually so i mean i've spoken about it a lot and obviously i 21 is young and
17:27and things change and um we know that things didn't work out but apart from having two wonderful wonderful
17:33children i would i don't think i've said before how important uh amrita was in my life to to help me
17:40understand my way through the film industry as well as understand quite a few things and her kind
17:45of contribution and um help at that time was something that's been quite invaluable also and
17:51it's a pity things did not work out but um she brought you up well i mean i kind of i mean there
17:56was a lot there was some really uh learning and important years and like i said wonderful mom
18:04but i'm very lucky i think uh my ex-wife and i uh get along well enough we usually speak about
18:09important things and usually when i'm in a hospital bed
18:13but you land up in the hospital quite often quite often so it's a regular kind of uh contact
18:18do you have a bed there they've named a room after me i think unsafe safe too many times
18:25accidents have happened actually i think like nine live cat it's been seven but the last one was
18:30really traumatic yeah i mean we all heard about it and you know you were and i think told me the whole
18:36story and he enacted the whole thing and it is actually quite dangerous what happened to him
18:41well we had just gone to sleep and and kareena had been out and i finished watching a movie with the
18:47boys and they'd gone to sleep and everything and it's actually quite late it was uh late at two o'clock
18:53or something in the morning and kareena came back we had a small chat and then you know went to sleep
18:58and then the maid came in and she said jay baba ke kamrin mein koi hai uska hat mein chakku hai
19:04oh my god so i kind of just heard that and rolled out of bed and i barged into jay's room and in
19:10the dark and i saw this guy standing over his bed with a knife and then i but you were not pointing
19:15at him no but he touched me had cut him later because the nurse had was trying to talk to him jay
19:20and the arm slightly he got a little nick here and the sister got a nick on her hand he was kind of
19:25poking a knife at them and i kind of walked in and i saw this guy and i thought he's smaller than me
19:32which means he's not very large and i jumped on him and of course jay later told me it's a big
19:38mistake you should have punched him or kicked him or something but i jumped and we started this fight
19:43and then he went mad he had these two knives and he just started slashing all over at me and i tried to
19:48remember my training and i blocked a couple here and then but and then i felt this thump in my back that
19:54was really hard and then we started fighting and rolling and the kids were out and everyone was out
19:58the room and gita i helped help me in this struggle and so pushed this guy off me well well and pretty
20:04much saved i think my life at that point because he had cut me everywhere in my neck and back there's
20:08blood everywhere and and then we blocked him in the room and i remembered i said i need a weapon of
20:14some sort you know because and the two swords that we have hanging on the wall upstairs outside the dining
20:19so me and harry another help went and grabbed them but i couldn't walk properly i was feeling
20:24i'd been stabbed in the leg but actually i'd been nicked in the spine um and kareena said i think
20:29we should go to hospital i'm going to take jay to my sisters and and he was locked in the room he had
20:34escaped the way he came because he came up through a drain pipe yeah we had we thought we'd locked him in
20:39the room and i kind of looked at them or tamu looked at me upstairs and he said he said oh my god he said
20:45are you going to die and i said no i don't think so but i've got a pain in the back i don't know if
20:49i'm not going to die i'm fine so i said i'm fine it's just a cut in my back so i'll go to hospital
20:55and you take the kids and go to lolo's and that was the idea so we stopped a rickshaw and last minute
21:00tim said he wanted to come with me and i was getting a lot of kind of peace looking at him it was weird
21:06there was a lot of adrenaline there's a lot of calm so all decisions were taken but it was and then we
21:11walked into hospital and they were all sleepy in the emergency area and i told a guy can you get
21:15a stretcher and uh he said wheelchair i said no i think i need a stretcher so he said no then finally
21:21i said hey hey because he wasn't waking up i said i'm safely khan this is a medical emergency
21:27and he went oh and then you know all pandemonium broke loose but everyone was there but great doctors
21:34and they all sorted it hats off to you for fighting and i think that's very brave to say that thank you
21:38no no that's very brave of you it doesn't happen and let me tell you you have been a real hero thank
21:44you so at least for your son and your family you're a real hero you're kind because and jay thought
21:52all right okay but um i think this is a what the moment you're my hero so we saw a video of you
22:01after coming back from the hospital actually getting out of the car and walking and i was like amazed but i
22:06mean there was so many when it was finished there were some you know people from there and a lot
22:12of advice and how to go and the media were curious and i kept nobody was listening to me because i
22:19said listen if the media is curious we should settle it and let me just walk out of the hospital because
22:23i can walk it was very bad but it was okay they stitched it up and i was there for a week and
22:29the back was okay and i was painful to walk but i could walk the wheelchair was not required and
22:34somebody said you should go in an ambulance somebody said you should go in a wheelchair
22:37and my instinct was why create any kind of panic or worry even with family fans well-wishers anyone
22:45and just walk out to send a picture message that you're okay you know so that was the idea but then
22:50there was so much kind of feedback on that that this is fake and that's true but that's the kind of
22:55world we live in but this is the reason i did it because i could your mom after that and she said i
22:59told him to go in a wheelchair why doesn't he ever listen to me i didn't want to create worry there
23:03would have been no controversy he's a brave man thank you i i'm telling you i know him so well we've
23:10done about six to seven films more than that i presume and some of the stunts he couldn't do but
23:15he would still try he would just do it he would just jump so many films and he's the actual hero and
23:22because i'm with him i have to do it because he used to say so all those years of practicing i'm just
23:29jumping he just jumped on this guy i remember him i mean he had to do that helicopter thing and all
23:35this is the introduction kind of helicopter thing yes i remember to jump out of the helicopter yes i
23:43remembered it and what happened and then he didn't jump he didn't jump and he was shouting jump jump jump
23:55he jumped at the right time he jumped at the right time absolutely he's a real life hero
24:02you're a real life hero but both of you could not be more different i mean if we had to just count
24:07all the differences we'd have to you know get another episode going no but basically you all are
24:12very different i mean actually when you were hustling for tips in bangkok and saif i believe that you were
24:16taking money out of your father's wallet at some point because he wouldn't notice
24:21your mother would have counted yeah she'd always knew why you needed that i don't know
24:26it was for coffee it was for food it wasn't a very good boy it was very naughty a food and you still are
24:31it was food because they weren't feeding me oh gosh please you grew up in palaces and you came from a
24:38very humble background okay there was unpainted palaces it was a big struggle
24:43it was tough you were running around unpainted palaces but you came from a very humble background
24:56you took me to you see your grandmother's house in chandmi chalk it was a small room 10 feet by 10
25:02feet and she told me that 13 14 of you would stay there including 24 one room in one room including
25:08both of you you all couldn't have been more different but you all made your own way how did
25:13both of y'all get into the business though both of them i know your story let's start with i can tell
25:17you his story okay why don't you do that why don't you tell us each other's stories well i don't know
25:23where he'll start before but there was a time when he was a very good looking martial arts teacher
25:28and then someone said why don't you do some modeling and then he went there and he met a young
25:34model called sonia who he shot with who said and he said i don't know how to do this and he said you
25:39look left looked right that's how you do it so of course he did that and then at one point she sat
25:44on oh yeah i told you this story about you and he said this is a good job i'm getting paid i'm getting
25:50paid 10 times more than the martial arts stuff and sonia sitting on my lap so and then he then he got
25:55offered a i wanted to know when he first because i remember when we were working together and somehow you
26:03were more quiet and reserved action and when did you suddenly realize that you're the like best comic
26:10actor in in the country all thanks to priya darshan oh raj kumar santoshi and a writer and a director
26:18called neera jvora so uh but these are the three people responsible you know there are sometimes you
26:24meet people who just push you and get you to a spot where you don't even realize that you can reach
26:31the level so they are these are the people and i'm very thankful to them to just making me go to
26:37there but saif in the beginning when you entered this business your hindi was really obnoxious and
26:45you had a lot of trouble especially when you were working with you know people like sunil that and
26:49yash chopra what happened during your first shoot please tell me well i don't know if i should
26:54say in the studio so yesterday rest in peace and i wasn't helping me do this scene i know studio also
27:01just remember that before he's a great director but he'd worked with very big stars who are very capable
27:06actors so after a long time he'd got a newcomer who had no idea so he said to me this is your
27:13introduction scene ah but i want you to come inside and be very loud and happy your friends are sitting
27:18and having uh coffee in the shop and you come in your name is pratab so i said okay camera started
27:29i said action so i came to the market i went pr-pr-pratab has landed so he said cut do you
27:34right so that was my first shot oh my god how did you do that joke i thought that's what he wanted
27:55me to do he said just do what i'm doing and this is what do you have to do so that was the first
27:59you still made it all the way congratulations oh god but you'll have both had your share of
28:06successes failures i mean dealing with a box office is like flying a kite sometimes it soars
28:11effortlessly sometimes it just crashes down how do both of you cope with the success and the failure
28:17i think you stay balanced during both times just enjoy the work at least speaking for myself there
28:23comes a time when you're i think this kind of thing is not working anymore at least for me so let
28:27me try and change a little track or find a different so you just choose different please i
28:32think he should speak i don't go on you say one thing is there for sure that you don't know anything
28:37else besides acting and being in the industry so what should we do we should just keep on working
28:43it affects me on till friday saturday sunday monday i'm shooting again i always say to anybody any
28:49newcomer also i'll always say just keep on working sometimes you know people say that i mean
28:55what you do i don't know about me why don't we have to buy a small business that i have to use
28:59I have seen it.
29:27I've seen it with my eyes.
29:30I've seen this happening and that's what happened.
29:31Haksha, you deliver multiple movies a year
29:34and Saif, you space them out.
29:35Is that intentional?
29:36Saif, he doesn't want to work so much
29:40but I would like to tell you that we miss you.
29:43You should keep on coming on the screen.
29:45You should do more work.
29:46Do about three films a year and keep on working.
29:49I'm trying to do two.
29:50The only thing is with small kids and stuff.
29:53It's so hard work.
29:54They start weeping when I go out and outdoor for a week.
29:57It's lucky in a sense when you have grown up kids
29:59because then you can...
30:00But they were also small.
30:02I didn't produce straight away grown up.
30:05So along with children,
30:06Akshay, you've produced some very interesting films as well
30:09like Oh My God, Toilet Egg, Prem Katha.
30:12I mean, a lot to do with social commentary.
30:15So where did that aspect of it come into
30:17all the rest of your action genre?
30:20It only started when I started producing in my own company.
30:24Like I would like to do even Padman,
30:27or Toilet Egg, Prem Katha, Aylift.
30:30So these are all films which I have produced myself.
30:33Absolutely.
30:33So I always wanted to do this kind of film
30:36which has some message to give.
30:38Oh My God.
30:39Yeah, absolutely.
30:40It was about sex education.
30:42Loved it.
30:43And things like that.
30:44So this is...
30:45I always wanted to.
30:47So when I had good amount of money
30:49where I could produce it myself
30:51and that is how I started changing my direction.
30:53He takes a lot of risks.
30:55I mean, I remember when we did Padman together.
30:58He wasn't meant to do Padman.
30:59It was just a story I was writing.
31:00Yeah, she wanted to take someone else.
31:02I wanted to take someone else and...
31:04And I convinced them.
31:06See, I told Balki also take me.
31:09I'll be good.
31:10And the way he convinced us...
31:11Did you audition?
31:12No, he didn't audition.
31:13But he said a very important thing.
31:14He said,
31:15if someone like me,
31:17you know,
31:17a big movie star
31:18stands up there
31:19and holds a sanitary pad in my hand,
31:21it will change the narrative for everybody.
31:23Not in these exact words,
31:25but this is what he said.
31:26No, but he's also done.
31:27Yeah, he is.
31:27Absolutely.
31:28Okay, guys.
31:29I think we've spoken enough.
31:30It's time to move on
31:31to our next segment
31:32called OPPO presents
31:33This Side, That Side.
31:35Absolutely.
31:35So it's simple.
31:37We read out a prompt
31:38and if you agree with it,
31:40you get into
31:40the green square
31:41and if you don't,
31:43it's the red square.
31:44Let's go.
31:45So me and Saif are alike.
31:46I mean, if Saif only plays it,
31:47it's the same thing.
31:48Yeah, I need to sit there
31:50and say,
31:50you do it.
31:51Oh my God.
31:52Husbands are more
31:53high maintenance than wives.
31:56Yes.
31:57Husbands are more
31:57high maintenance than wives.
31:59Saif, you come back here.
32:00You come here on this side,
32:02please.
32:02Thank you very much.
32:03No, I have to think.
32:04No, you are.
32:05Secretly, you are.
32:06I need a lot of...
32:07Yes!
32:09Finally,
32:09something we agree on.
32:11One foot.
32:12Something we agree on finally.
32:13You can put one foot on, sir.
32:15No, but listen,
32:16you have to say now.
32:17Husbands are more
32:18high maintenance.
32:19You have to...
32:19Yeah, in what way?
32:20Wait, let me come out here.
32:22Say.
32:23Okay, I'll go there.
32:24No, no, no.
32:25Come back.
32:25Come back.
32:26No, no, I'll go here.
32:28I'm telling you,
32:28come here, Saif.
32:29You'll be safe.
32:30You'll be safe.
32:31What?
32:31It's fine.
32:31There's nothing to say now.
32:32You've changed?
32:33Yeah, I think so.
32:34I think so.
32:34Husbands are more
32:35high maintenance than wives now.
32:37I think wives are more...
32:38More high maintenance than women are.
32:39No, we are not high maintenance.
32:41You guys are the double dholkis.
32:42Please.
32:43You have happily changed your stance.
32:45I'm not here.
32:47Sorry.
32:48You're nowhere.
32:48Sorry.
32:49Sorry, I can't.
32:50Listen.
32:51Listen, I love you,
32:51but I don't live with you.
32:55I love you,
32:56but I don't live with you.
32:57And coming to the next from.
32:58Aja.
32:59You have 40 days shooting with me.
33:02Oh, shit.
33:02I'm stuck in a hard place now.
33:05And you have action with me.
33:06Oh, no.
33:07Did you just say
33:07you're stuck in a hard place?
33:08Oh, my God.
33:09No, okay.
33:11Okay.
33:12Morning people
33:13are more productive
33:14than night people.
33:15Morning people.
33:16Heartily disagree.
33:17Heartily disagree.
33:18I'm not sure
33:19Shahrukh Khan would agree with that.
33:20Yes, exactly.
33:22I agree.
33:22I'm not sure
33:23the rest of the world,
33:24besides this
33:25very small
33:26section of
33:27morning people,
33:28the rest of the people
33:29are all night people.
33:30He's not even
33:31morning people.
33:31He's not even
33:32morning people.
33:33This show has begun
33:36at morning
33:3710.30.
33:38We'll be free by...
33:39No, but one second.
33:41What does morning mean?
33:42Because he wanted
33:43to start at 10.30.
33:44He came here at 10.
33:45I had to come here at 7.
33:47Facts.
33:47Right?
33:487.
33:48See, I'll say something.
33:49I would much rather
33:50produce in the morning.
33:53Reproduce or produce?
33:56I would much rather
33:57produce in the morning
33:58and get the work done.
34:00Right?
34:00But I don't know
34:01if night people
34:02are less productive.
34:03I don't know.
34:03I don't want to work at night.
34:04I know the production
34:05happens at night,
34:06but...
34:07The production
34:08happens at night.
34:10The reproduction
34:10happens at night.
34:12Next.
34:13Or in the morning.
34:14Hey, anytime.
34:15Okay, the next one.
34:17Live-in relationships
34:17are more reliable
34:19than marriages.
34:20They may be more
34:20reliable.
34:21Absolutely not.
34:22We're all against it.
34:24No, no.
34:26Marriage is like
34:28having a device.
34:30You can't return it.
34:33Live-in relationship
34:34you can still do exchanges.
34:34I don't even know
34:35how he's doing it
34:36with his wife.
34:36Seriously.
34:38Dude.
34:39It's been 25 years
34:41so you don't...
34:42You can't say anything.
34:4325 years.
34:44I'm saying...
34:45Next year is 25.
34:46God bless.
34:47Don't say.
34:47Nazar Utharo.
34:48I'm saying
34:49I don't know
34:49how you're doing the show.
34:50I don't know
34:50how you're doing the show.
34:55Okay.
34:56No, right?
34:56Remixes don't work better.
34:58Remixes work better
34:59than original
35:00Hollywood songs.
35:00I don't have to do
35:01anything here.
35:02Remixes work better
35:04than original
35:05Hollywood songs.
35:06No, you can't
35:07love remixes.
35:09I disagree with this
35:10right now
35:10because I feel
35:12that in today's
35:13day and time
35:13if we're speaking
35:14of remixes
35:15most of the old songs
35:16are being remixed
35:17and they're becoming
35:19hits
35:19because of the fact
35:20that they're old
35:21familiar
35:22like your husband
35:23and you've nearly
35:24thrown him out of the
35:25glass for that.
35:26Out of the square for that.
35:27We can do a remix
35:28of
35:28I'll play
35:28you and all.
35:29Do you remember
35:30the step?
35:31No, kind of.
35:32I remember this and all.
35:34I don't know.
35:35Oh my God.
35:38Something like that.
35:39What is it?
35:40There's one really
35:40fast one.
35:41I don't think I can do it
35:42anywhere.
35:42Yeah, there's that.
35:43But there's one.
35:44There's something like this.
35:46Okay, can you all not
35:47break our square?
35:48Come here.
35:48You should be happy
35:49tail nikelai ga on there.
35:51I knew we'd have this
35:52flashback to 1995.
35:55Yeah, 1995.
35:56You remember we had
35:57gone for a show.
35:58Om.
35:59That was called
36:00that was called
36:02you know what?
36:03Awesome Fosom.
36:04Awesome Fosom.
36:04Okay, I love these.
36:05Okay, this is
36:06Awesome Fosom.
36:07I don't know how this
36:07name came but
36:08Awesome Fosom was the show
36:09and, and, and
36:11Madonna came to
36:12watch our show.
36:13We were doing a
36:14world tour.
36:14Oh, we were so excited.
36:16Like, I gave the best
36:18performance however I
36:19must have, whatever I
36:20could do.
36:20Then Shahrukh gave his
36:21best performance.
36:22Then, uh, I gave my
36:23best performance.
36:24She gave her
36:25ultra best performance.
36:25Hopefully.
36:26Then Juhi gave it and
36:27then came this performer
36:29and he has written this
36:30song in the afternoon
36:31when he came to know
36:32that Madonna is coming
36:33and he sung the song.
36:35This song is
36:36looking at her and
36:38she's there for you.
36:43You look to me a
36:44virgin.
36:45You have a virgin
36:48smile.
36:49And she's sitting down
36:51with a kid and a
36:52husband.
36:55But she was very
36:56nice.
36:57She waited.
36:58Gracious.
36:58Till the song
36:59finished.
37:00And then she got up
37:00and walked off.
37:01She walked up in the
37:03middle of the show.
37:04And I remember her,
37:06she's screaming,
37:07Go, go!
37:07Go!
37:09And then her mother's
37:11also standing.
37:11They were all in a line
37:12to shout at him.
37:14He thought he did the
37:15best thing.
37:15And I don't know why
37:16he sang to her,
37:17You look to me a virgin.
37:19And finished.
37:19That was the end of the
37:20show.
37:21We didn't get any
37:23Hollywood stars coming
37:24to watch the show.
37:24No, it's great.
37:26Controversies don't end
37:27careers, they extend
37:28them.
37:29Yes.
37:30Depends.
37:31Okay.
37:32Ha, chalo.
37:33So far, we all
37:34alive and happening.
37:36We survived our
37:37controversies.
37:38Absolutely.
37:38So, yeah.
37:39I don't know whether
37:40they extend them
37:41though or not.
37:41No, they don't
37:42extend them.
37:43You just have to
37:44keep on working,
37:44that's it.
37:45Yes.
37:46All right.
37:47Everything will
37:47extend.
37:48Akshay is the only
37:49hardworking person
37:50here.
37:50We are all
37:51velas.
37:51Let's go.
37:52I know you are
37:52working hard.
37:53I know you guys
37:54are working very
37:55hard.
37:56I see my wife
37:56getting up in the
37:57morning, 5.30,
37:59getting ready to come
38:00here.
38:00She gets up every
38:00day at 5.30.
38:01No, she gets up
38:01at 6.30.
38:03Oh my God.
38:04I'll tell you
38:04something, I was so
38:05proud of her when
38:06she was doing her
38:07university and I
38:08used to see my son,
38:10my daughter, they
38:11were going in
38:11school in London and
38:13I was the only
38:13vela there sitting
38:14there.
38:15I used to take the
38:16car and drop.
38:17I was so happy that
38:18time, you know,
38:18it's amazing.
38:19I'm dropping my
38:20daughter first to
38:21school, then my
38:22son to his
38:23university, then
38:24her to the
38:25university.
38:26I used to come
38:27home and just sit
38:27with her.
38:28After that,
38:28what did you do?
38:29Work out, swim.
38:30Okay, very nice.
38:31Come back on the
38:32couch.
38:32Okay, no more
38:35questions?
38:36No more questions.
38:36Come on.
38:37Peaceful.
38:39Okay, where
38:39were we?
38:40Now we're coming
38:41to the topic of
38:41the day.
38:42We've realized that
38:43aging has a distinct
38:44male and female
38:45perspective.
38:46I mean, we were
38:47walking in this
38:48morning and she
38:49was kind of
38:50waddling and I
38:50said, what are you
38:51pregnant?
38:52And she said, no,
38:53I have PMS.
38:54And I said, oh
38:55gosh, it's much
38:56better than
38:56menopause.
38:57And that
38:57menopause was a
38:58threat.
38:59I mean, I was
39:00just telling you
39:00what's in store, but
39:02do you guys talk
39:03about things like
39:04that?
39:04It's sounding
39:05like a threat
39:05these days.
39:06Like everything's
39:07going to change.
39:07I'm going to
39:08pre, pre, but
39:08perimenopause.
39:10Perimenopause and
39:10then menopause.
39:11Yeah.
39:11So is it very
39:12frightening for us
39:13also?
39:14Yes, because I
39:15think men go
39:15through it and
39:16it's called
39:16andropause if I'm
39:17not mistaken.
39:17No, no, if our
39:18wives go through
39:18it, is it
39:19frightening for us?
39:19It's very
39:20frightening.
39:20Definitely.
39:21Oh, yeah.
39:21Really?
39:22Yeah.
39:22They say men,
39:23you know, when
39:24they get older,
39:24men age like
39:25fine wine.
39:27Not all men.
39:27Some men age.
39:29Fine wine.
39:30Some?
39:30Some age like
39:31old papad.
39:34But papad is
39:35at least better
39:35than the way
39:36we age.
39:36The he's sour,
39:37acidic and
39:38just lumpy.
39:40From where
39:40all the
39:41statement comes?
39:41I mean, you
39:42look at it
39:42out there.
39:42This is
39:42from Twinkle's
39:43book, but
39:44coming back
39:45through it.
39:46I don't know.
39:46I've not read
39:47it.
39:47I don't know.
39:50So you all
39:50don't worry
39:51about aging,
39:51basically, both
39:52of you?
39:52Aging
39:53if I speak
39:56for myself,
39:56of course I
39:57worry.
39:57You should.
39:57I worry.
39:59I mean, I'm
39:5955, because
40:00you think, oh,
40:01I have 20
40:02more years.
40:02You never
40:03know.
40:03I mean,
40:03anything can
40:04happen at
40:05this age.
40:06And also,
40:07things, well,
40:07you'll be 70
40:08soon.
40:08Most of your
40:09young life is
40:09over.
40:10So it's a
40:10little, you
40:12know, you
40:13have these
40:13thoughts of
40:13your mortality.
40:15Yeah, mortality
40:16and how it's
40:17ended.
40:17But I think
40:17it's important
40:18to kind of
40:19know how to
40:20do that
40:20nicely and
40:21easily.
40:21I used to
40:22worry about
40:22it.
40:22I agree
40:23with you.
40:23Even I
40:24thought that
40:24aging was
40:25terrifying.
40:26And then I
40:26realized that
40:27while aging is
40:27a mathematical
40:28problem, it's
40:30not a sum of
40:31division.
40:31It's a sum of
40:32multiplication.
40:33We are sitting
40:33here, but we've
40:35had a multitude
40:35of, you know,
40:36heartbreaks, a
40:37multitude of
40:38love, multitude
40:38of triumphs.
40:39So I don't
40:40think just not
40:41having tight
40:42skin is a
40:43qualify.
40:44It doesn't
40:44diminish us.
40:45It enhances
40:45us.
40:46We are 51,
40:4752, but we've
40:48got these people
40:50inside us.
40:50I still have the
40:5110-year-old
40:51inside me that,
40:52you know, beat
40:53up all the
40:53boys.
40:53I've got the
40:5430-year-old young
40:55mother.
40:56I've got the
40:5640-year-old
40:57ambitious woman.
40:59You beat him
40:59up?
41:00I did beat him.
41:02She was doing
41:02a scene together
41:03where she had to
41:03slap me.
41:04Whenever we talk
41:04to them, they
41:05keep breaking.
41:05She had to slap
41:06me in the scene
41:07and she said,
41:07I don't know how
41:08to fake slap, so
41:09I'm just going to
41:09give you a big
41:10job.
41:13That sounds like
41:13twinkle.
41:14No, please don't.
41:17It's like,
41:17I said, don't,
41:19I don't think
41:22she did, but I
41:23was really scared
41:24in the whole scene.
41:25I tried to kick
41:26him because I was
41:26really angry with
41:27him.
41:27My favorite
41:27story, she said,
41:28now I have to
41:29fake kick you, but
41:29I'm going to real
41:30kick you because
41:30I don't know how
41:31to fake kick you.
41:32And then she
41:33kicked me or
41:33something, and
41:34something happened
41:34to her foot.
41:35No, I missed.
41:35I hit the iron
41:36railing and I had
41:37this big lump,
41:38which is the weirdest
41:38swelling I've ever
41:39seen on anyone's
41:40foot.
41:40Of course I
41:41was laughing.
41:42I was like,
41:43someone has
41:44protected me.
41:44She had to
41:45almost go to
41:45hospital.
41:47Talking with
41:48you guys with
41:49like so many
41:50things you guys
41:51are saying, it's
41:52so complicated.
41:54Just now Tina,
41:55I know, she's my
41:56wife, she's going
41:57to beat me up at
41:58this whole
41:58multiplication and
42:00the subtraction
42:00and all those
42:02things.
42:02You got confused.
42:04I got confused.
42:05I was in Scotland
42:06and we were
42:08eating lunch
42:09and we were
42:10eating lunch
42:10in the menu
42:10card.
42:11I wrote something
42:11something, something
42:15and a loaf of
42:17this with
42:17Netherlands and
42:18blah, blah.
42:19And something.
42:20I said, this must
42:21be something very
42:21good.
42:22So I asked, can
42:23I have one of
42:24this?
42:24And then, guess
42:26what it was?
42:27Bread butter.
42:29You know, we
42:30have this argument
42:31all the time.
42:32I think, I mean,
42:33life should be
42:34very simple.
42:35This argument we
42:35both have together.
42:37And I think,
42:38if anything has
42:39to be explained
42:39should be explained
42:40in a very simple
42:41way.
42:41It's not me.
42:42Socrates says
42:42an unexamined life
42:44is not worth
42:45living.
42:45It's only living
42:45for cattle.
42:46I'm paraphrasing.
42:47But what he's
42:48trying to tell you
42:49is that Socrates
42:50may have said it
42:50in English.
42:51Akshay is trying
42:51to tell you that
42:52put it into
42:52layman's terms
42:53and tell me
42:54exactly what it
42:54means.
42:54they could have
42:55written just
42:55better.
42:56But getting to
43:01the simple core
43:01of things is
43:02important.
43:03You're right.
43:03I think simplicity
43:04is the golden
43:06word today.
43:07One second.
43:07What can be more
43:08simple than this?
43:08Once I wrote him
43:09a poem and the
43:10title was
43:10Two peas in a pot
43:12died of inertia.
43:13He looked at me
43:14and said,
43:14you're such a
43:15maha-pakao.
43:19But Winkle,
43:20I don't see.
43:21He's right.
43:23You are the
43:23maha-pakao.
43:24Just cackling,
43:25cackling.
43:26But even you
43:26also say so many
43:27things I don't
43:28understand.
43:28Do you understand
43:29things?
43:30I'm sure.
43:30I studied in Oxford
43:33Dictionary.
43:35But I like it
43:36very simple,
43:36very straight.
43:38That's the way
43:38I am.
43:39So simply
43:39simply
43:39pooch lete hain.
43:42Hindi mein pooch lete hain.
43:43No, no,
43:44Hindi mein
43:44English mein pooch
43:45lekin woh
43:45guma phira hain.
43:46Hindi, simply pooch lete hain.
43:47Hindi mein pooch lete hain.
43:48Hindi mein pooch lete hain.
43:48Hindi mein pooch lete hain.
43:49Hindi mein pooch lete hain.
43:50Okay.
43:51Despite you all
43:51not worrying about
43:52aging and we
43:53worrying about
43:54aging.
43:55Absolutely.
43:56Is it because
43:56we are living
43:57in a man's world
43:58where your value
43:59doesn't lie in
44:00tight skin
44:01and you know
44:01upright breasts
44:02and ours
44:03supposedly does
44:04according to
44:05society.
44:05Are we living
44:06in a man's world?
44:08Yeah, we are
44:08living in a man's world
44:09but I think
44:10it is time
44:10that everything
44:11should change
44:12and it is
44:13changing
44:13slowly slowly
44:14and I am
44:15very glad
44:16it is changing.
44:17So does
44:17masculinity
44:18today still
44:19mean
44:19I earn
44:20and I provide
44:21or has that
44:22changed?
44:23And the fact of
44:24the matter is
44:24that when you
44:25look at our
44:26society at large
44:27a man who
44:28cannot provide
44:30is not considered
44:31a success
44:32in life
44:33and women
44:33earning more
44:34than them
44:35or even
44:35working for that matter.
44:35Can I say something?
44:36most of the women
44:37that I know
44:38and let's leave
44:40it at that
44:40I think
44:41would find it
44:42difficult
44:43to respect
44:44a guy
44:45who is not
44:46doing anything
44:47or not
44:48contributing
44:49in some kind
44:50of way.
44:50In a financial way.
44:51Honestly
44:52it kind of helps
44:53if you are
44:53financially contributing
44:54you get a bit
44:55more
44:55more for the man
44:56than for the woman.
44:57But I think
44:57it's important for both.
44:58I think there's a little
44:58more pressure in my mind
44:59on the man
45:00having to do that
45:01at the moment.
45:02And if a guy
45:02doesn't do that
45:03whatever people say
45:04the women I know
45:06will not really
45:07respect that.
45:07Even for women
45:08it may not be
45:09that you have to
45:09financially go out
45:11there and earn more
45:12but you definitely
45:12have to bring
45:13something to the table.
45:14But there's no such
45:18thing as a free lunch
45:19even if you're the one
45:20making it in the kitchen.
45:20There's no such
45:21thing as a free lunch.
45:22Let's let Akshay talk.
45:23No I don't understand
45:24what it is
45:25if sometimes
45:27if a woman
45:28is earning more
45:29I'm okay with it.
45:30If Tina is earning
45:31more than me.
45:31No she's saying
45:32what if the man
45:32doesn't earn at all?
45:33I'm saying
45:34A man should not
45:42or anybody
45:43should not think
45:44what the society thinks.
45:46Just think
45:46what you think
45:47is right.
45:48There's too much
45:49of complication
45:49what society
45:50will give it to you.
45:51It's too many
45:52things I mean
45:52say too much
45:53of stress
45:53too much
45:54of pressure
45:54you take
45:54are they
45:55who can
45:55think
45:55society
45:56and what
45:57will do.
45:58When we interview
45:59we think
46:00a lot of
46:00things
46:01we don't
46:02have to think
46:02what do you think
46:03of people.
46:03Now
46:03tell them
46:04what you think
46:04about it.
46:04Anyway moving on.
46:07Both of you worked in the 90s
46:08three shifts a day
46:10directors were temperamental
46:11throwing mics
46:12there was chaos everywhere.
46:14Today it's more civilized.
46:15Do you all find it easier
46:16to work now
46:17or back in the 90s
46:18when it was all the
46:19wild wild west?
46:20I think I used to
46:21enjoy the earlier
46:2290s was
46:23the best
46:24everything.
46:25We didn't have
46:25social media
46:26at that time.
46:27Forget about anything
46:28we didn't have
46:28vanity vans.
46:29What's the difference?
46:30I tell you one thing
46:31that's changed
46:31there was a lot
46:32of bad language
46:33on set in the 90s
46:34which I kind of miss
46:35when people used
46:36to say silence
46:36they'd say silence
46:37silence
46:37and then everyone
46:40would be quiet
46:41and today
46:42nowadays
46:42they say silence
46:43silence
46:43and nobody cares.
46:44The director
46:45also doesn't say
46:46his assistant
46:47will say
46:47but his assistant
46:48will tell
46:49the other assistant
46:49he will shout.
46:51We didn't have
46:51to worry about
46:52social media
46:52we didn't have
46:53to worry about
46:53twitter or
46:54anything putting
46:55anything we just
46:56coming working
46:57there's no paparazzi
46:58there's no media
46:59there's nothing
47:00happening there
47:00everything is just
47:01first class
47:03yes hard work
47:05was there
47:05that time when
47:06we used to do
47:07stunts
47:07we didn't have
47:08paddings or
47:09anything like that
47:09I remember
47:10one fight master
47:15he saw me
47:15he has never
47:16seen all these
47:17pads and all
47:18he's saying
47:18what's that
47:19he's going to
47:19snow
47:19he told me
47:24snow
47:25I'm going to
47:27snow
47:28I'm going to
47:28snow
47:28I'm going to
47:29snow
47:29I'm going to
47:30snow
47:31I'm going to
47:31snow
47:31I'm going to
47:32snow
47:33you all have
47:35troubled us
47:35so much
47:35that now
47:36you all should
