00:00We had told her in winter we could move the planters and I think she just decided to speed
00:04the process up. I decided to put two metal planters on our property. Neighbors were walking
00:10by. This is beautiful. This is amazing. But that positive opinion would not last for long. We get
00:16a text right before we leave for dinner that I cannot get out because of your planters and
00:20you're going to need to move them. I'm sorry. I hit your planters. I went outside and our front
00:26planter was completely destroyed. Second planter was halfway ran over. She thought that this was
00:31deliberate and it got even worse when her neighbor was caught trying to poison her garden. We are in
00:36the process of putting up a small decorative fence. We have not responded back. I am low-key
00:42considering just filing a police report for property damage at this point. For us, our backyard fences
00:47are like five feet on one side and then four feet on the other. The police had been called to the
00:52house over this driveway debacle. The time had come to put an end to this dispute.
00:56I am walking today and my neighbor leaves her house at the same time. She ends up walking the
01:03exact same way I'm walking. As I'm walking, I give her like a nice little smile and she walks behind
01:09me to go into the house and I hear her and she just goes, so unnecessary because I wasn't engaging.
01:16I even gave her a nice smile and minding my own business. These two are never going to get on
01:22and her response to all this has been awful. By the way, those are Walmart planters. You get two
01:27of those for 30 bucks. We're being kind because those planters are actually 200 each and I was
01:32only going to charge you for like one. When you mess up doing something and you generally feel bad
01:37about it, you don't nitpick it. We'll see what my attorney says. I'll see you in court. Why would you
01:42spend money on a lawyer for that lawyer in the law to see out of the evidence and go,
01:49you need to pay? She finally got a call after months of waiting and it might be the light at
01:55the end of the tunnel. We just got a phone call from the court and we have been summoned to go
02:00appear in front of a judge and it's just us appearing in front of the judge. The court date was set and
02:04everything had been agreed, but who did the judge side with? Essentially he was saying just because
02:09it's denied now doesn't mean it would be denied in the future. I'm not surprised, but if this keeps
02:15going and we have to keep dealing with it, we can file again. She was so confident that she was going
02:21to win this court case. So we responded back saying, well, we're going to have to file a police report.
02:27It's a civil lawsuit. We'll have to get the in-house of a giant corporation. Their attorney is involved
02:32now, which we don't want to do. That's a pain in the butt. No one wants to deal with that over
02:35planters that you could have just paid for. This has been made into a huge issue over what
02:40could have been an easy to solve problem. Obviously at this point, whatever we put there is going to
02:45be worse than what the planters were. Nightmare neighbors can destroy your peace. Don't suffer
02:50in silence. Start by keeping a log of incidents. Then try a calm conversation. If that fails,
02:57consult your landlord or HOA. Know your rights and take back your quiet.
