00:05as compensation to the family of a woman who died after developing a rare form of cancer.
00:11The court ruled that one of the company's products was responsible for causing the illness that led to her death.
00:18The U.S. jury awarded $16 million in compensatory damages and an additional $950 million in punitive damages,
00:27though the amount could still be reduced on appeal.
00:30Johnson & Johnson has repeatedly maintained that its products are safe,

00:38The company halted sales of its talc-based baby powder in the United States in 2020,
