00:00Who exactly is Hikaru Nakamura and what made him hurl Dukeshi's King into the crowd after their match?

00:13where Nakamura tossed Dukeshi's King into the crowd.

00:16The act drew almost as much attention as the game itself.

01:28According to reports, including commentary from fellow player and YouTuber,

01:31Levi Rossman, Gotham Chess,

01:33the organizers had encouraged such theatrics to boost the entertainment value.

01:37Without context, it will look like an unprovoked gesture, Rossman said.

01:41But we were supposed to do that stuff.

01:43The winner of Gukesh and Hikaru's game was supposed to toss the king into the fans.

01:47Hikaru explained it to Gukesh later.

01:49It was all for show and no disrespect was meant.

01:52Nakamura later confirmed his intent.

01:54If I won, I was always gonna throw the king.

01:56The fact that it was a dramatic bullet game made it even better.
