00:01Did you feel the way that the team carried on right until the end,
00:05that you might have got something to do again?
00:08Yeah, I think that's probably about right.
00:11I'm really proud of what they produced in the second half,
00:15the levels of intensity, appetite to get that equalising goal,
00:21personality, we made it very, very uncomfortable in the second half.
00:30I think it was a game of very few chances.
00:33When you restrict them to very few chances defensively, you've done well.
00:37I'm not sure how many centre-forwards in World Football scored that goal,
00:41and that was the difference today, ultimately.
00:44Bear in mind the way you played in the second half,
00:47is there a tinge of regret about sort of the first half,
00:50or is that just a reflection of how good it's been?
00:54Yeah, I would have wanted to get more pressure on the ball in the first half,
00:58and it was only a slight tweak, really, in terms of what we did.
01:02Just a little bit what Yamo and Chris Seger pushed a little bit through towards forward,
01:06and it gave us a better platform to go and be more aggressive.
01:09And I think once the players feel that, they get more of a confidence
01:13that they can really affect the opposition, and likewise the opposition feel that,
01:17and then you can grow from that.
01:19I think that's what happened, really, in the second half.
01:21First half, they could try and get in, so that's what they do,
01:25that's what they've done for donkey's years.
01:27And I think in the main, that was in front of us, around us,
01:30didn't come true to us.
01:32Apart from the goal, Ryan has had one volley where Cuevin saves,
01:35and apart from that, it was very, very little, really.
01:38The second half was certainly our half, and we were outstanding.
01:47Can I ask about Jordan Henderson, his performance today,
01:49what you made of your thinking plan to take him off,
01:52and why do you think these games are generally?
01:54I think Jordan's in a really good place.
01:56If you watched the game, you would have seen his qualities,
02:01barking orders at our players, snapping into tackles,
02:07and then his passing range is obviously very, very good.
02:11It's been very effective for us since he's come to the club.
02:14I think you would also have seen the levels of energy that's needed
02:18to play against Manchester City,
02:20and I changed all three midfielders because of what was needed.
02:23We did it last weekend as well.
02:25We've got a really good squad, and I'll certainly utilise that.
02:29I think energy levels against top-level teams is really important.
02:35Your second half performance, really proud of what your message was at that half-time?
02:41Just belief in what we could produce.
02:44I felt, having watched City in every game this season,
02:48the opposition always had periods of when they could unnerve them and unsettle them,
02:54even going back to their game during the week against Monaco.
02:57The game was at 1-0.
03:00Like I said, we made a couple of little tweaks,
03:03but it was mainly belief, and don't worry about suffering,
03:08because most teams have to suffer against Man City.
03:11You've got to dig deep.
03:12We have to have a will to be selfless in everything we do on the pitch.
03:17The subs will be ready to come on and impact the game,
03:20which they did brilliantly.
03:22But, yeah, just believe.
03:25It seems to be really positive in a lot of ways.
03:29Despite the defeat, the team showed a lot of resilience.
03:34Yeah, that's probably about right.
03:36I think character, I think we show that more often than not.
03:40I think what we're trying to do is bring a team together,
03:46a club together after so many changes.
03:48Obviously, naturally in the summer, I think it's growing.
03:51I think you could see that even in the second half performance today
03:54against top-level opposition.
03:56There's always going to be days when it's not quite the way we want it to look,
04:01but the reality is we're still building relationships on the pitch,
04:05off the pitch in terms of staff, that connection that we have as a group.
04:09But I think the connection is certainly there with the fans.
04:11I think they're really understanding of where we're at
04:13and where we're trying to go to with this team.
04:17Thanks.
04:19OK, anything else?
04:21No, we'll leave it there. Thank you very much.
04:26Thank you very much.
