When a 15-foot grizzly bear starts attacking and murdering campers in a vast national park, it is up to Chief Ranger Michael Kelly and his team to stop the animal.
Transcript
00:00:00This area is pretty much the same way it was when the Indians were wandering around in it.
00:00:18That's the cause of this country's National Park System Centres.
00:00:23It's sole function of the National Park System to protect wildlife
00:00:28and the forest from thousands of campers coming here every year.
00:00:31I know that my opinion don't mean too much,
00:00:35but I think that if we get any further encroachment on these park areas,
00:00:39we're going to destroy the natural beauty of what you're looking at.
00:00:42If the government could somehow manage to protect these areas,
00:00:47we just might be able to keep this typical and completely American landscape like this forever.
00:00:58That's a great team.
00:01:00Let's go.
00:01:02Let's go.

00:03:33Do you like it?
00:03:51Oh, yeah.
00:03:51It's very good.
00:04:03It's very good.
00:04:33I never thought you'd make it.
00:04:41I wouldn't miss a Kelly briefing for the world.
00:04:43All right, this is the largest post-season crowd we've ever had.
00:04:51There's just no way with this skeleton crew that we're going to be able to handle it.
00:04:55What Kelly's concerned about is we got more backpackers pitching tents than raccoons in the woods.
00:04:59Okay, now everybody goes out on patrol.
00:05:02There's no way we can keep an eye on all those backpackers.
00:05:05Well, we're just going to do the best we can.
00:05:07Okay, everybody knows where they're supposed to go, so let's get with it.
00:05:13Kelly.
00:05:15My apologies.
00:05:17Accept it.
00:05:18Hey, I'm going up to R4.
00:05:20You know, maybe the two of us should go.
00:05:21It's really loaded up there, Kel.
00:05:25Hey, come on.
00:05:25I can use the help.
00:05:27Well, you see, Hayes called in sick.
00:05:29So I'm going to need Gil down here to kind of hold down the fort.
00:05:32Mm-hmm.
00:05:36We tried.
00:05:37Look, I'll talk to you later for dinner.
00:05:38Okay.
00:05:47Okay, girls.
00:05:48Keep it moving.
00:05:50I know that the season's closed, but that's no reason to let up, hmm?
00:05:54So if you get any complaints about cold food, I want to hear about them right away.
00:06:05Dad.
00:06:06What are those?
00:06:07Unpaid bills, I believe.
00:06:08Oh, I must have put them in the wrong drawer.
00:06:10I'll take care of them right away.
00:06:11And I've been looking over the wine list.
00:06:13You know, you haven't been charging nearly enough.
00:06:15Look what you've been paying.
00:06:16I know what I've been paying.
00:06:17And?
00:06:18Well, good wine at reasonable prices brings the customers back, and they've been coming back.
00:06:23I know you've had a really good season, but this...
00:06:26Allison, for the last two weeks, you've been trying to help me run my business.
00:06:29That's not true.
00:06:32Dad, every man needs a helping hand.
00:06:34Yeah, well, you told me that you were coming up here to shoot pictures of the changing season.
00:06:39Well, I did.
00:06:39I am.
00:06:39That's what I've been doing.
00:06:40Yeah, well, keeping check on how your old man is doing is not going to help you meet your deadline.
00:06:44I only got maybe a third to go.
00:06:47I need maybe 30 or 40 more photographs.
00:06:49I got my publisher snowed.
00:06:51He'll wait.
00:06:52Allison, why don't you write a how-to book?
00:06:56How to avoid responsibility.
00:06:59Oh, hell.
00:07:00I was supposed to meet you.
00:07:01Kelly, I'm sorry.
00:07:03Well, let's go.
00:07:04See you, Walt.
00:07:06It was sweet of you to come and get me.
00:07:17I really appreciate it.
00:07:19Well, I should be angry.
00:07:21I mean, I said I'd take you around, but, you know, I just might have been needed.
00:07:24I'm an important person around here.
00:07:26Guilty as charged.
00:07:28You know what the problem is?
00:07:29The problem is you're spoiled.
00:07:31And your father did it.
00:07:34How long have you known me?
00:07:36A few weeks.
00:07:37Then why don't you just reserve judgment?
00:07:39I mean, spoiled is a pretty heavy word.
00:07:42First of all, I don't feel spoiled.
00:07:44I feel needed.
00:07:46I mean, Dad's taking on a lot more than he can handle.
00:07:48So, uh, I feel just a bit torn between career and father.
00:07:52Yeah, well, I think your father can handle his end.
00:07:55It's yours you should be worrying about.
00:07:58Somehow, I always manage to get it together.
00:08:01Well, I shouldn't have to get away just to get down to a good old girl dog.
00:08:19I think I'm going to try being a vegetarian and live off nature.
00:08:22Yeah.
00:08:24Clean your elephants for sure.
00:08:26At last.
00:08:37I don't believe we're here, finally.
00:08:39Oh.
00:08:41We must have walked in my house today.
00:08:44We've got to do something with this.
00:08:46I want to sit down and get out of these blocks.
00:08:48Yeah.
00:08:49Feel a lot better.
00:08:50Uh-huh.
00:08:52What's that?
00:08:53There's something out there.
00:08:59Oh.
00:09:01Hey, you scared us.
00:09:03Sorry.
00:09:03I didn't mean to.
00:09:05What can we do for you?
00:09:07Stay out of trouble.
00:09:08What kind of trouble?
00:09:10Well, just don't take any unnecessary risks.
00:09:12This is a pretty tricky area.
00:09:14How long are you girls going to be up here?
00:09:16Oh, we're leaving shortly, right after we eat.
00:09:19Don't forget to check in at the ranger station before you leave.
00:09:21Don't worry.
00:09:22We'll be down before it gets dark.
00:09:23Okay.
00:09:26Come on, boy.
00:09:27Come on, boy.
00:09:57Let's go.
00:09:59Let's go.
00:10:00Let's go.
00:10:21Well, better get moving.
00:10:24It's gonna get dark pretty fast.
00:10:25You're right.
00:10:26All right, you start on the tent, and I'll get the fire.
00:10:29Okay, but I have to go first.
00:10:31Whenever it comes to cleaning up, you always have to go home.
00:10:33I'll be right back.
00:10:35Mm-hmm.
00:10:56Let's go.
00:11:26June?
00:11:38June?
00:11:46June?
00:11:49June?
00:11:52June?
00:11:54Oh, my God.
00:12:24Oh, my God.
00:12:54You never stop shooting, do you?
00:12:56Yeah. Most of what I shoot I don't use.
00:12:58Wrong angle, wrong light.
00:13:00Wrong faces.
00:13:01No, the faces are never wrong.
00:13:03Remember, every face tells a story.
00:13:05Oh, yeah?
00:13:06What story does this face tell you?
00:13:12You're a dissembler.
00:13:14You hide everything behind that tight jaw.
00:13:17One day, it's gonna break.
00:13:25You can see it's cracking already.
00:13:27All right.
00:13:32How you doing, Tom?
00:13:33Hey.
00:13:35Where you going?
00:13:36Up to R4.
00:13:37Got a couple missing girls.
00:13:40Oh?
00:13:41Come on.
00:13:43They said they'd be down before dusk.
00:13:44They haven't made it yet.
00:13:45Ah, they're not gonna make it.
00:13:47The sun will be down a little bit.
00:13:49Hey, you wanna go up with them?
00:13:50Uh-huh.
00:13:51We'll follow you.
00:13:51Go ahead.
00:13:52Okay.
00:13:52Okay.
00:13:52We'll follow you.
00:14:22They were back there, past the shack, maybe 100, 150 yards.
00:14:31Let's walk on in.
00:14:50Hey, hold it, Tom.
00:14:51I want to check out the shack.

00:28:04You know, Don, I want to thank you for helping us out.
00:28:24It's sure going to make finding that bear a lot easier.
00:28:27Maybe it's got some kind of favorite cave.
00:28:30No, the reason we can't find him is it keeps moving.
00:28:35And he has a few million acres to cover his tracks.
00:28:38Well, if he moves near clearing, we might just kick him up.
00:28:44Can you get this bird any closer?
00:28:46No, negative. Too much down draft today. Might push it into the trees.
00:28:54I feel like I've been wearing these things permanently.
00:29:00Have you locked into any of this pattern yet?
00:29:03You know, bear's got patterns.
00:29:05Patterns, yeah, patterns.
00:29:07He likes women. He keeps moving.
00:29:09Sort of like me. Always trolling.
00:29:11Yeah, yeah.
00:29:14What about that fill you've been riding?
00:29:18Oh.
00:29:18No. I didn't know it was that way now. No offense, my man.
00:29:28Hey, take it down. Take it down. I think I see something.
00:29:31Oh, boy, that might be our baby.
00:29:41Oh, boy, that might be our baby.
00:29:41Hold it, Kelly.
00:29:50Are you crazy?
00:30:05What the hell are you doing up here?
00:30:08I'm trying to find your bear.
00:30:09Well, you're supposed to be down at camp.
00:30:11Kipter's just been all over me.
00:30:12You better tell that man that that bear is not one of ours.
00:30:15Are you sure?
00:30:16Positive.
00:30:17Well, you still should have come on down.
00:30:19Why? I can do better on my own.
00:30:20You almost got your tail shot off.
00:30:23Almost.
00:30:24Boy, if you ain't big bag of grits, what the hell have you done if you'd caught that big brown?
00:30:29It isn't a big brown. It's a grizzly.
00:30:32Grizzly?
00:30:33Hmm?
00:30:34There ain't no grizzlies up here.
00:30:35I used to hunt these woods for years. It can't be a grizzly.
00:30:38Come on, Scotty. They were killed off years ago. Big bounty on them, remember?
00:30:42This one survived.
00:30:44I'm telling you, it can't be.
00:30:46I'm telling you, we got a grizzly, and then some.
00:30:50Guys, I'm a little bush. Can I hitch a ride back with you?
00:30:53Yeah, come on.
00:30:53You know that the average grizzly, he's about, uh, seven feet tall.
00:31:00Some of them shorter.
00:31:01Uh-huh.
00:31:02This one here is at least 15 feet.
00:31:05Oh, no.
00:31:06Maybe in Alaska. Just maybe. But not down here.
00:31:10Right here. I just checked the claw marks on a tree.
00:31:13Well, that means he's established this territory.
00:31:15The whole damn forest?
00:31:17What you're talking about is unreal.
00:31:19Wait, I got a little more.
00:31:20According to the depth of his paw prints, he weighs over 2,000 pounds.
00:31:27Boys, want a bite?
00:31:29Look, Scotty, you may be some kind of authority on all this,
00:31:33but what you're talking about is science fiction, a fairy tale?
00:31:37Science, yeah. Fiction, no.
00:31:39See, the only known grizzlies that large were called Arctodus ursus horribilus.
00:31:44Oh.
00:31:44And they were the mightiest carnivores in the Pleistocene era.
00:31:47Now, well, when was that?
00:31:48About a million years ago.
00:31:50Oh, he's a mere baby, then.
00:31:51Well, he was a hearty ancestor that managed to hang in there.
00:31:55What the hell's a million-year-old grizzly doing here?
00:31:58He's looking for food.
00:32:00See, there are strictly carnivores, those things.
00:32:02They sure do love meat.
00:32:05In that case, let's get the hell out of here.
00:32:07Good enough.
00:32:08I've been working on the railroads just to pass my time away.
00:32:26Can't you hear the whistle blowing?
00:32:31I have been waiting to
00:32:34I'll try that the world anymore
00:32:34Try that the world anymore
00:32:35I can't hear the whistle blowing.
00:32:37That thing you want to hear
00:32:38Есть!
00:32:39Ah!
00:32:40A fucking Christ!

00:41:14Let's go.
00:41:15Let's go.
00:41:16A bear is a bear.
00:41:18A bear is not a bear, believe it or not.
00:41:21Besides, you got a bunch of drunken bums out there, not professional hunters.
00:41:25I can't help that.
00:41:26You always get a few crazies.
00:41:28I want them out of my forest.
00:41:32It's not your forest, Kelly.
00:41:35Do you know those woods are full of campers?
00:41:42Not in R3 and R4.
00:41:46Do you see they're walking around with a map or something?
00:41:48There's no danger.
00:41:49Fall.
00:41:49Are you through?
00:41:50Are you through?
00:41:52No.
00:41:54I'd like to ask you something.
00:41:57Why are you on my ass?
00:41:59I'm glad you're asking that.
00:42:01Kelly, you're a maverick.
00:42:10We don't have room for mavericks.
00:42:11Well, let me tell you something, Kittredge.
00:42:18While you've been sitting around here on your fat ass, I've made this forest part of me.
00:42:22You listen to me here.
00:42:23No, you listen.
00:42:26Those hunters are in my jurisdiction, and I'm going to deal with them the way I see fit.
00:42:31Now, you just try and stop me.
00:42:32Scotty, wake up.
00:43:02Hey, Scotty, will you take Don over to pick up his stuff?
00:43:32Hey, load in some extra rifles.
00:43:54We'll need them.
00:44:02I was feeling unloved.
00:44:05Well, so was I.
00:44:06I'm glad you stopped by.
00:44:07We're just getting ready to take off.
00:44:08I'm coming with you.
00:44:10Look, it's a butcher shop out there.
00:44:12You just couldn't handle it.
00:44:14I couldn't?
00:44:15All right, maybe I couldn't handle it then.
00:44:17Look, I'll stay out of your way.
00:44:19Honey, it's not safe out there.
00:44:20No, I don't want to see you get hurt.
00:44:22I mean, for both our sakes.
00:44:24Is that a line that's supposed to make me feel grateful?
00:44:26I don't feel like playing little boy-girl games.
00:44:30You just said the wrong thing.
00:44:32Now, you just pack it up.
00:44:34You're not going with me.
00:44:35Damn it, Kelly.
00:44:36I'm glad you see it my way.
00:44:38Really?
00:45:02I don't get hurt.
00:45:06I don't get hurt.
00:45:18I just lost 20 years.
00:45:48It just might be that old grizzly's cub.
00:45:50No way.
00:45:52It's a possibility.
00:45:54Hey, hey, listen.
00:45:56That thing might come in here after that cub.
00:45:58Let's get him out of here.
00:46:00He's right.
00:46:01Put it back in the woods.
00:46:02Hey, I got an idea.
00:46:05We use this cub as bait.
00:46:07We'll take it back in there, find us the clearing.
00:46:09We'll go into blinds.
00:46:11Old mom will come by.
00:46:13Pow.
00:46:18It's a lot different from deer hunting.
00:46:33Yeah, that damn thing fights back.
00:46:35Hey, we're going to have to hold the noise down.
00:46:36The damn thing won't come anywhere around us.
00:46:43Shit.
00:46:44Whoa!
00:46:48Who's stupid idea was to use that cub as live bait?
00:46:55It was mine.
00:46:56That's the kind of bait he is, Kelly.
00:46:58It really doesn't make any difference anymore, does it?
00:47:01Anybody see it happen?
00:47:03No.
00:47:04She just grabbed up the cub and that was it.
00:47:07You know one thing for sure.
00:47:09What's that?
00:47:10Our grizzly's a he, instead of a she.
00:47:13How the hell do you know that?
00:47:14You been peeking?
00:47:15You don't have to.
00:47:16Only the males are kind of ballistic.
00:47:18They'll eat a cub if they're hungry.
00:47:19Yeah, but does that help us, Scotty?
00:47:22Sure does.
00:47:23He's going to retrace his route.
00:47:24I mean, he's going to come back to the scene of his crime.
00:47:29Well, then he still could be around here.
00:47:31He could be listening to us right now.
00:47:35Well, if that's the case, maybe we can flush him out.
00:47:38Can we help?
00:47:39Yeah, but we go by the book.
00:47:47Everyone follows orders.
00:47:48You call the shots, mister.
00:47:50What's your name?
00:47:51Pat.
00:47:52Okay, Pat.
00:47:52You and the rest of the guys go up to the north ridge.
00:47:54That's Pinto Pass.
00:47:56I know where it is.
00:47:57All right, we're going to spread and hold the line at Culver Basin.
00:48:00Now, if he comes down, that's where he's coming down.
00:48:03Hey, listen, y'all boys come down that ridge.
00:48:05Kind of make like a war party.
00:48:06Make a lot of noise, will you?
00:48:08Maybe that graze your head towards us.
00:48:10All right, we'll expect you to be in place and ready to go at the daybreak.
00:48:14All right, let's get with it.
00:48:15Okay.
00:48:17Tom, you're not going to be going with us.
00:48:19What?
00:48:20You're not leaving me out of this man.
00:48:22No way.
00:48:23I'm not leaving you out of anything.
00:48:24I'm assigning you to Arrow Tower.
00:48:27Don't do me any favors.
00:48:30Look, I can handle myself down here.
00:48:32Will you cool off and listen?
00:48:35Now, you know how thick it is down here.
00:48:36Now, from up there, you might be able to spot him and you might get a crack at him.
00:48:41Yeah, and I might just get left out of this whole damn thing.
00:48:45Tom, you're not going to be left out of anything.
00:48:48Okay.
00:48:52Wish the hell I'd hurry up and get daylight.
00:48:54It won't be much longer.
00:48:56Not.
00:48:57Still a little bit chilly this morning, though, ain't it?
00:49:00Yeah, it's sort of cool for this time here anyway.
00:49:03Would you come home?
00:49:04All right.
00:49:04Let's go.
00:49:12Let's keep it quiet, okay?
00:49:14Kelly, I'd like to have the first shot.
00:49:34Well, I can't promise that.
00:49:35You see, we've got a grizzly out there that's at least 15 feet tall, weighs maybe 2,000, 3,000 pounds, right?
00:49:42Now, I want to capture him.
00:49:44You what?
00:49:46You want to capture him?
00:49:47That's right.
00:49:51He's not kidding.
00:49:52I've been developing these brand new tranquilizer shells and...
00:49:55Oh, Christ.
00:49:57That shell won't penetrate the hair of his chinny-chin-chin.
00:50:00I'm not trying to kill him with it, mister.
00:50:01I just want to put him to sleep.
00:50:02Oh, yeah.
00:50:03Well, that's fine.
00:50:03But first, you've got to knock him down.
00:50:05That BB won't do it.
00:50:06We'll see about that.
00:50:07Well, I sure hope you ain't out there alone.
00:50:13It's liable to become his breakfast.
00:50:15I figure that old grizzly's hungry again by now.
00:50:17Not for a while.
00:50:18I told you he just ate the cub.
00:50:19I doubt if he's hungry now.
00:50:21Yeah?
00:50:23Well, that was merely an appetizer, my man.
00:50:27I figure that old grizzly's had himself some human flesh, and he ain't himself nothing else.
00:50:31That's pretty ridiculous.
00:50:32It is, huh?
00:50:35Well, let me tell you a little story, boy.
00:50:37A long time ago, there's tribe of Indians up here in these woods.
00:50:42They was all laid down with the pox.
00:50:45Something I can't remember.
00:50:48Anyway, this herd of grizzlies smelled them out.
00:50:52They come in and they ate them.
00:50:56They tore them all up.
00:50:59Little children, sick ones, everybody.
00:51:02There's a few braves that was healthy enough to go out on a hunt.
00:51:08They come back.
00:51:10And the grizzlies turned on them.
00:51:14So there you had a little situation.
00:51:17A whole herd of man eating grizzlies.
00:51:21They're just raring around.
00:51:23Tearing up Indians.
00:51:27It's pretty hard to believe.
00:51:28Unless you happen to be one of them Indians.
00:51:34Yeah.
00:51:38Kelly, I can still root him out my own way.
00:51:41Hell, I can look like him.
00:51:43I can smell like him.
00:51:44Now give me a chance.
00:51:45Let me go in.
00:51:46You got it, Don.
00:51:47I ought to call his mama.
00:51:48I mean, does your mama know that you're raring around out here in the woods trying to act like a bear?
00:51:53You smell like one.
00:51:54You're scratching around on the ground like one.
00:51:56I mean, does she know that you're making a damn fool of yourself?
00:51:59You're chasing something about the size of a D8 cat with teeth.
00:52:04You know, I think your mama would be a little disappointed in you.
00:52:06Maybe.
00:52:10I'm not nearly as disappointed as she would be if she'd have had you for a son, Sonny.
00:52:16Scotty.
00:52:18Scotty.
00:52:21If we spun him first, you'd get a crack at him.
00:52:25But I don't want you going out in those woods alone.
00:52:27I don't want you going out in those woods alone.
00:52:36I don't want you going out in those woods.
00:53:06I don't want you going out in those woods.
00:53:36I don't want you going out in those woods.
00:53:38I don't want you going down there.
00:53:39I don't want you going out in those woods.
00:53:40But I don't want you to have your friends going out in those woods.
00:53:40Just
00:53:52go now.
00:53:55I don't know.
00:54:25You see anything moving out there at all?
00:54:33Only your hunter's tearing up the forest.
00:54:37I'll keep looking. He has to be out there someplace.
00:54:55Oh, Jesus.
00:55:09It's the grizzly.
00:55:11Hold on, Don. Just hold on. We're on our way.
00:55:14Come on, Don. Come on.
00:55:18Come on.
00:55:48We're almost there.
00:56:18We're almost there.
00:56:48How do you think this bear thing is being handled?
00:57:01Okay, I guess.
00:57:02I mean, they kept the bear away from here.
00:57:04That's what counts.
00:57:05I sure do feel sorry for that poor forest ranger, though.
00:57:08Yeah, I think we all feel the same way.
00:57:11I'm sorry.
00:57:13So am I.
00:57:14Is there anything I can do?
00:57:17No, he had a family.
00:57:22Send some flowers.
00:57:29I've got a plan.
00:57:31But I need time and men.
00:57:35Kelly, I'm not going to...
00:57:36Listen!
00:57:38Just listen.
00:57:43You got Tom here.
00:57:45The first killing took place up here.
00:57:48He circled and killed.
00:57:50Circled and killed.
00:57:51Circled and found and killed Gail here.
00:57:55And he circled again, got behind us, and killed Tom.
00:57:59And I think he's going to continue heading down looking for human food.
00:58:04That thing seems to know what we're thinking.
00:58:07And I'd like to get the jump on him this time.
00:58:09A grizzly is an animal, Kelly.
00:58:12Don't give it human qualities.
00:58:14He's not even listening to you, Kelly.
00:58:19See, he doesn't understand that we're dealing with a highly intelligent beast.
00:58:27Scotty.
00:58:29Scotty.
00:58:31Scotty.
00:58:32Would you take that sandwich outside and eat it?
00:58:36Please?
00:58:48Charlie, close the park and give me another crack at him.
00:58:52There's no need to close the park.
00:58:57Do you know that there are more reporters out there and TV cameramen than there are animals?
00:59:02It's a goddamn circus.
00:59:04I invited them.
00:59:05You invited them?
00:59:07I want them to see the kind of clean, thorough job that we're capable of doing.
00:59:12You're kidding.
00:59:13We have five dead people, one raving almost dead man?
00:59:18And you call that clean?
00:59:20We're doing everything in our bullshit.
00:59:22I mean, you know, I just figured you out.
00:59:25You don't give a good goddamn if we get that grizzly or not.
00:59:28As long as you get your press so you can go to Washington and get one of those nice dark brown plastic offices.
00:59:35Get out!
00:59:36Well, you've just lost your office.
00:59:41Because when I finish with you, there's not gonna be anybody there waiting to shake your greasy bloody hand.
00:59:47You are finished, dismissed, removed!
00:59:50Up yours.
01:00:06Or whatever it's with, don't take it all on your shoulders, you're not broad enough.
01:00:25Yeah, I mean, uh, what the hell do the hunters know about—rangers know about hunting.
01:00:35you know something scotty do you know the kind of real estate deal i could make on this poppy
01:00:43i mean if it was a private poppy of course first i'd parcel off the lots then do whatever you like
01:00:51if you want to hang up your jock that's your business she's gonna do me a favor
01:00:57go home i'm gonna get that grizzly why you heard me

01:04:00Everybody goes?
01:04:03Yes.
01:04:05That includes the press, mister.
01:04:09The park's closed.
01:04:11People have a right to know.
01:04:13Well, you got your story.
01:04:15The story's about Greene.
01:04:17I don't want him to go to Washington.
01:04:20I'm feeling sorry for myself.
01:04:22Hey, that's a good lead line for the story.
01:04:25Well, your hands aren't clean either, pal.
01:04:27You and your cameras, you've made it so exciting.
01:04:30So attractive.
01:04:31We told it like it was.
01:04:33There's only one person who can tell it how it was.
01:04:36And that's little Bobby.
01:04:38He's alive?
01:04:40Part of him is.
01:04:43We can get him to the city hospital in time.
01:04:45We'll move past him.
01:04:49Thank you, Mr.
01:04:50Yes.
01:04:51There's always going to be one sister.
01:04:56Okay.
01:04:57Let's go.
01:04:58I'll be right back.
01:04:59Let's go.
01:05:00Let's go.
01:05:01Let's go.
01:05:02Let's go.
01:05:03Let's go.
01:05:04Let's go.
01:05:05Let's go.
01:05:06Let's go.
01:05:07Let's go.
01:05:28Feels like NAMM all over again.
01:05:32That's special excitement.
01:05:35Well, we'll get him this time.
01:05:36You think so, huh?
01:05:38Well, I haven't got a choice.
01:05:41And listen, I want to thank you for being over my head without your help.
01:05:45You're getting it.
01:05:51Christ, if this ain't all ironic.
01:05:55You know, in NAMM I zapped about a hundred, maybe two hundred gooks.
01:06:02People.
01:06:04Called them gooks so it wouldn't get personal.
01:06:07But it did get personal.
01:06:09But it did get personal.
01:06:10Anyway.
01:06:12So I stopped counting and tried to stop caring.
01:06:17You know, now I don't kill nothing no more.
01:06:22Not even flies.
01:06:23Made myself that promise.
01:06:24I'm sorry.
01:06:26Nah, sorry ain't necessary.
01:06:29It's my choice.
01:06:30I could have said no.
01:06:33Where's Scott?
01:06:35Oh, he went out there on his own.
01:06:36He's crazy.
01:06:38You know, that boy's weird.
01:07:00What makes you think this old bear is really moving back up country?
01:07:14Well, what we know about grizzlies.
01:07:16They don't like to stray.
01:07:18This one made it into town.
01:07:20I'd call that straying.
01:07:22Well, I think he's just lost.
01:07:24He wants to go home where it's safe.
01:07:26We don't help him go home.
01:07:56Never let's go home without any cash.
01:07:57He wouldn't put that in, old bear.
01:07:58Hey, credin'.
01:08:00Hey, look!
01:08:04I got one.
01:08:05Now, that Army regular you've got ain't gonna get what we need.
01:08:06This him's .30-06 with a K .004 scope on it for fast shooters.
01:08:08You gonna need it.
01:08:12Hold this, will ya.
01:08:14Okay.
01:08:19What do you mind?
01:08:24There's one!
01:08:25Oh, boy, I wish my mom had taught me how to tie knots.
01:08:34Let's take it over there somewhere.
01:08:36All right.
01:08:37If you get some kind of downwind,
01:08:38old Br'er Bear might smell this animal.
01:08:40Come on after it.
01:08:47You could, hell.
01:08:55Mother's heavy.
01:09:09Yeah, okay.
01:09:11Hold it right there.
01:09:14I am holding it right there.
01:09:17Don, will you live?
01:09:18What do you think I'm doing?
01:09:25Come here, sweetheart.
01:09:29You don't...
01:09:30Okay.
01:09:31All right.
01:09:32Woo.
01:09:34Yeah.
01:09:37I'm going back and get the rest of the gear.
01:09:40All right.
01:09:41I'll start in a blind.
01:09:55I'll do it next time.
01:09:59Bye.
01:10:23Bye.
01:10:24Bye.
01:10:24Don, I heard him. He's on the run.
01:10:54Don, I heard him.
01:11:24Don, I heard him.
01:11:29Don, I heard him.
01:11:34Don, I heard him.
01:11:39Don, I heard him.
01:11:42We lost him.
01:11:45He's right behind him.
01:11:47I don't know about that.
01:11:49Let's go.
01:11:51Christ, he must have run a mile.
01:11:56Only thing to do is go back to the compter.
01:12:01I don't know.
01:12:17She's in the house.
01:12:21Oh, son of a bitch.
01:12:41He figured us out.
01:12:43He took us out and then circled back.
01:12:45That's what he did.
01:12:47You know, it's like a couple of his toys.
01:12:50We are.
01:12:53You know, you could circle back around here again.
01:12:55But don't even say that.
01:12:56You've got to try and get some sleep.
01:12:59It's too late tracking now.
01:13:00Let's go back to shopping.
01:13:18Whoa.
01:13:20Come on.
01:13:36Let's go.
01:13:39Let's go.
01:14:41Are you sure you want to take the first watch?
01:14:46Oh, uh, by the way, just in case you should fall asleep, you feel a wet snout in your face?
01:14:53Whatever you do, don't move.
01:14:55And don't kiss it back, because it ain't me.
01:14:57Ha, that ain't funny.
01:14:59You know you're right.
01:15:00You know you're right.
01:15:13You know you're right.
01:15:14You know you're right.

01:21:17Oh, my God.
01:21:47Oh, my God.
01:22:17It's funny, how a fella kind of goes up and down like some kind of yo-yo.
01:22:21I'm getting ready to kill again.
01:22:23I can't hardly wait.
01:22:23I kind of like that old boy.
01:22:29You know, when I was kidding around with him, I never meant him no insult.
01:22:33I know.
01:22:39You know, Don.
01:22:41You tour a lot of like.
01:23:03Let's have another look at that grid, man.
01:23:11There.
01:23:11Right there.
01:23:12That's where he's going.
01:23:13It's back to his first kill.
01:23:15I mean, it's incredible.
01:23:16Well, it's programmed, like some kind of damn computer.
01:23:20How?
01:23:21Why, man?
01:23:22Hell, I don't know.
01:23:24One of Salmon's went back upstream to where it all began.
01:23:46Hey, you're getting in kind of close.
01:23:55Have faith, brother.
01:23:56Hey, man, he's really moving.
01:24:04Let's give that son of a bitch a run for his money.
01:24:06I think we lost him.
01:24:36I see him.
01:24:40I see him.
01:24:44He's on another 11-1.
01:25:02Just take one rocket.
01:25:04We'll get that damn launcher and blast it.
01:25:06Set it down.
01:25:11Sure?
01:25:12Yeah, let's go in after him.
01:25:14He's tired.
01:25:14He's scared.
01:25:15He needs to come back out.
01:25:18All right.
01:25:36Oh, shit.
