When I was young I was told of heaven
Skies above occupied by my loving redeemer
But by age fourteen I was praying for sevens
Needing just a little bit of luck
Because by now, I'm beyond stuck
To be a kid in a school preaching off your ear, you learn to adapt
Learn to stop fighting
When your view transforms from belief, to finding silver-linings
In the walls of the lord laid brick by brick
All to make his message stick
Yet among this, came my metamorphosis
I was changing, finding myself
Words of wisdom became words of exclusion
To turn a once proud butterfly into struggling actress
Acting like nothing is wrong
Taking information in much like a sponge
Along the people praising with the pastor on the porch of the lord, lie me
A girl, now a chameleon, changing colors to blend in
With tears in my eyes I stand among my peers
As they preach in front of me, "DEATH TO THE QUEERS"
A chameleon girl, changing her colors of her skin
Because my meer existence is only a sin\n\nVixen Plasek
