The building's "finger structure," an optimized version of the BMW Group plant in Leipzig, enables 80 percent of parts to be delivered directly to the correct assembly location on the line. Further advantages for purely electric in-house logistics include autonomous tugger trains, which deliver batteries from high-voltage battery production directly to the installation site, and smart transport robots, which autonomously transport smaller components to the line. By networking all internal and external databases, the entire logistics process achieves unprecedented digital depth, automating numerous interlocking manual analysis processes. Information is thus available, structured, and analyzed at the touch of a button.
