Four individuals, including a Datuk, were fined a maximum of RM100,000 each by two Sessions Courts in Kuala Lumpur for failure to report corruption linked to the MEX II highway scandal to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

00:16Businessman Datuk Lim Kim Hai, farmer Ang Tech and storekeeper Lee Kang Long and freelance consultant Chan Chi Keong pleaded guilty to their charges in court.
00:25Each of them was ordered to serve prison time between three and ten months if they failed to pay the fine.
00:32Lim admitted to being given a RM3.5 million bribe by a former MEX2 Sandirian Berhad director as an inducement to engage three subcontractors for Golden Base Construction Sandirian Berhad.
00:45Ang said he was given RM500,000 as an inducement to be the middleman between Lim and another individual to engage the three companies.
00:55They violated the M.A.C.C. Act by not reporting the inducement to the M.A.C.C. or police.
01:03The offences took place at KH Lim Corporate Consultancy's office between June 2017 and June 2018.
01:11In another court, Chan pleaded guilty to being given RM1.4 million from Lim as inducement for being a middleman to engage the three companies,
01:21while Lee admitted to receiving RM500,000 as an inducement to loan his companies for Lim to use as subcontractors to Golden Base.
01:31The offences were committed at the same place and time.
01:34The prosecution sought for the assets involved in the case to be forfeited to the government and the application was allowed by the courts.
01:43In mitigation, the defence asked for a lenient sentence as the four accused had cooperated with the authorities and they were remorseful of their action.
