Philippine Coast Guard ship BRP Gabriela Silang will sail to Cebu today, Oct. 2, 2025, to transport 5,000 food packs and evacuation kits from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and water filtration machines from the Office of Civil Defense to address the needs of earthquake victims. Voyage is expected to take 23 hours.
PCG Commandant Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan said Coast Guard responders are also conducting search and rescue operations. Primary challenges include damaged port and road networks in Bogo City and communications disruption. (via Martin A. Sadongdong | MB)
