00:00Welcome everyone. Today we are going to understand how to solve this kind of an exponential problem.
00:06We have 8 raised to x is equal to 32.
00:10Now if you see this gets a bit tricky.
00:12We all know that 8 multiplied by 4 gets you 32.
00:17But this in no way means 8 raised to 4.
00:22What is 8 raised to 4? That is nothing but what?
00:258 gets multiplied to itself 4 times.
00:30So that is why the answer for this question cannot be 4.
00:34Now at this point what we can do is see.
00:37If I switch the basis to be same.
00:43Then automatically I can say the indices are same.
00:53So here I can write 8 as nothing but what?
00:562 raised to 3 the whole raised to x.
00:59And 32 can be written as 2 raised to 5.
01:03Now a raised to m the whole raised to n is written as what?
01:08A raised to m multiplied by n.
01:10So this can be written as 2 raised to 3x is equal to 2 raised to 5.
01:15Now since the bases are same I can directly equate the indices that means 3x raise equals to 5.
01:25Okay.
01:25So now in order to find the value of x we will divide both sides by 3.
01:30So value of x is equals to 5 by 3 for this particular question.
01:37I hope that is very very clear to every one.
01:41That's it for today.
01:42I will see you in the next video.
