00:00As a citizen you're just concerned about safety, safety of transportation.
00:21Here we are in Washington DC to be able to do things as a tourist.
00:24We spend a lot of money to get here so hopefully we can do all the things we want to do.
00:29It's a little bit frustrating in that it seems to happen too often and it seems like it's
00:35just political compromise after political compromise which puts the American public potentially
00:42at risk or without services.
00:44Babies love it, old ladies love it.
00:48Alright, thanks a lot.
00:52I'd like to see them do something on the health care, it's actually going to impact me.
00:56I got a subsidy on mine and it's expensive and it's got a big deductible.
01:02So it's not, you know, and you really have no choice, you've got one company that you
01:07get the insurance from, I'm in Florida.
01:13And I've got money put away, I can pay for it and I'm not happy about it.
01:16If you're working on a paycheck to paycheck it's going to be a big problem because it's
01:19a big number.
01:20It's a big number.
01:21I can see why they're going to fight for it.
01:26It's stressful because you just have all this uncertainty.
01:39So I wish they would just get their act together so that we can all do what we do best at work,
01:45which is work and work for the American people because I do work for the government.
02:00We've been Washingtonians for years.
02:03The fear of a shutdown, no, there's no fear, there's no fear.
02:09Shut it down and we'll still thrive.
02:12Well, I think the shutdown is going to affect people in a profound way, particularly government
02:39workers who have been really hurt already and lots of people's jobs.
02:43But it's all the services the government provides that we forget about, you know, I'm traveling,
02:48you know, everything from your travel and other things is going to be impacted.
02:53So I think it's a serious thing.
02:56I also understand, you know, there are negotiations that have to take place and it has to be done
03:04in good faith.
03:05It's pretty silly that the federal government employees lose jobs and money and the Congress
03:31and the White House and all of those folks get to keep theirs and continually get paid.
03:50It has not affected us at all up to today.
03:53It went into effect last night, but we were planning to come and see Washington, D.C.
03:58see just the main highlights from outside, so it's not that big of a problem for us.
04:03Well, the only thing we cannot do today because of the shutdown is accessing the capital.
04:08I think it would have been a nice visit, but whatever.
04:13Other than that, transportation is not affected, so we are not having any problems and I assume
04:18we won't have any in the upcoming days, hopefully.
04:25We are not even planning to go into the future but we are planning to make sure we are going
04:32to be open until the 6th they said.
04:37At this point, it hasn't affected us because we want to see the Smithsonian's.
04:42it hasn't affected us because we want to see the smithsonians they're going to be open until the
04:486th they said
05:03i guess we'll just go around to anything that's open and see the
05:06you know whatever historic stuff is open that you know that you that they can't shut down
05:12so
