Transcript
00:00Since Pixar's feature film debut in 1995, the studio has developed a reputation for
00:10its interesting, complex, and often downright terrifying villains.
00:14As gritty as these movies can get, they're still designed for kids, meaning you can usually
00:19expect a happy ending.
00:20But what if these diabolical Pixar bad guys actually got their way?
00:25If only a few plot points were switched around, things could have panned out a lot worse
00:29for our favorite heroes.
00:31Beware of spoilers!
00:33You really must say, I and Sid, we have so much more to talk about.
00:41Number 5.
00:42Sid Phillips, Toy Story He may just be a kid with a tool kit, but
00:46in the world of toys, Sid is basically a horror movie villain.
00:50Patient is...prepped.
00:54No one's ever attempted a double bypass brain transplant before.
00:58Now for the tricky part.
01:01Players!
01:02I don't believe that man's ever been to medical school.
01:05He gleefully and sadistically tears toys apart, cobbling them together into nightmare fuel,
01:11albeit without realizing they're actually alive.
01:14When Woody and Buzz wind up trapped in his chaotic house, they orchestrate a clever escape
01:19and give Sid the fright of his life, teaching him one very important lesson.
01:24We toys can see everything.
01:31So play nice.
01:34But let's imagine, just for a moment, that the plan didn't work.
01:40Sid doesn't flinch when the toys come to life.
01:42Maybe he thinks it's cool, maybe he doubles down.
01:45Either way, Woody and Buzz are done for.
01:48Where are your rebel friends now?
01:52They never make it home, never form the legendary friendship that defines the series,
01:57and never get to see Andy grow up.
01:59And you thought Toy Story 3 was depressing.
02:02I need your help.
02:04I can't help.
02:06I can't help anyone.
02:08Number 4.
02:09Henry J. Waternoose III – Monsters, Inc.
02:12While Randall may seem like the main antagonist on paper, Waternoose turns out to be the
02:17true puppet master.
02:18As the CEO of the Scream-powered energy company, Waternoose reveals his true corrupt nature when
02:24he teams up with Randall to kidnap human children in a desperate attempt to solve Monstropolis's
02:30energy crisis.
02:31Times have changed.
02:32Scaring isn't enough anymore.
02:34But kidnapping children?
02:35I'll kidnap a thousand children before I let this company die, and I'll silence anyone
02:40who gets in my way.
02:42In a pivotal moment, Waternoose banishes Mike and Sully to the Himalayas to keep them from
02:47interfering.
02:48Thankfully, the duo manages to find their way back, expose the truth, and bring Waternoose
02:53to justice.
02:54But what if they never made it home?
02:56Sully, what about everything we ever worked for?
03:00Does that matter?
03:02Huh?
03:03What about Celia?
03:05I am never, never gonna see her again.
03:09In this version, the sinister plan prevails.
03:12Randall continues harvesting the screams of human kids, and the factory thrives.
03:16Boo is lost to the system, just one of many victims.
03:21I never should have trusted you with this.
03:23Because of you, I had to banish my top scarer.
03:25Ah, with this machine, we won't need scarers.
03:28To add insult to injury, the city never learns that laughter was the key to solving their crisis
03:33all along.
03:34Meanwhile, our heroes remain stranded in the snow.
03:37But hey, at least they've got the agreeable snowman for company.
03:46Number 3.
03:47A Bug's Life
03:49Voiced by Kevin Spacey, this six-legged tyrant is not to be trifled with.
03:54Hopper strikes fear to the heart of every insect under his rule, and he revels in it.
03:59If you don't keep your end of the bargain, then I can't guarantee your safety, and there
04:04are insects out there that will take advantage of you.
04:07Someone could get hurt.
04:10His intimidation tactics are how he keeps the ant colony in line, upholding the oppressive
04:16circle of life he claims is natural order.
04:19So when the ants and their circus bug allies finally rise up and overthrow him, it's a
04:24triumphant moment of unity and liberation.
04:26But let's say he didn't become bird food.
04:29After escaping the nest, Hopper, enraged by the ant's fake bird scheme, is out for blood.
04:42He makes the colony pay, starting with Flick.
04:45The queen is overthrown, possibly even squished.
04:48And Princess Atta, Hopper's favorite verbal punching bag, is forced into servitude.
04:54First rule of leadership.
04:56Everything is your fault.
04:58It's a bug-eat-bug world out there, Princess.
05:02One of those circle of life kind of things.
05:05The rest of the ants are reduced to slaves for the grasshopper's gain, their resources
05:10drained and their spirit crushed.
05:12The message of courage and solidarity is snuffed out.
05:15Yeah, we'll take the original ending.
05:17Thanks.
05:18Happy landings, Hopper!
05:232.
05:24The Incredibles
05:26When we first meet Mr. Incredible's archenemy, he's an excitable fanboy who dreams of becoming
05:31a heroic sidekick.
05:33But after he's coldly rejected, Buddy Pine turns to the dark side, big time.
05:38It tore me apart.
05:40But I learned an important lesson.
05:42You can't count on anyone, especially your heroes.
05:4615 years later, Incrediboy has rebranded as Syndrome, a bitter tech-savvy mastermind with a serious vendetta.
05:54His goal is to erase the concept of true heroism by eliminating every super and leveling the playing field.
06:01I'll give them heroics.
06:02I'll give them the most spectacular heroics anyone's ever seen!
06:06And when I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll sell my inventions so that everyone can be superheroes.
06:11Everyone can be super!
06:14And when everyone's super, no one will be.
06:20Luckily, the Parr family thwarts Syndrome's plan, thanks in part to his fatal cape-related oversight.
06:27But what if he hadn't been hoisted by his own petard?
06:31In this alternate timeline, Syndrome makes good on his threat to raise the youngest Parr child, Jack-Jack, as his protege.
06:37With Jack-Jack's staggering array of powers and Syndrome's unstable genius, the pair become an unstoppable force,
06:44and Syndrome is able to complete his goal of rendering Supers a thing of the past.
06:49I saved the best inventions for myself.
06:52Am I good enough now?
06:54Who's super now?
06:57Plus, Syndrome, having mastered the whole nemesis thing, is able to manipulate Jack-Jack against his own family,
07:04turning him into a weapon of personal revenge.
07:07It's a twisted inversion of the sidekick dream that started it all.
07:11Sure, it was difficult, but you are worth it.
07:14I mean, after all, I am your biggest fan.

07:34Number 1.
07:36Otto, Wally
07:38Whereas many Pixar villains are remembered for their emotional depth, Wally's antagonist is 100% machine.
07:45Otto is cold, calculated, and utterly devoid of empathy, focused solely on carrying out his directive,
07:52keeping what's left of humanity in orbit far away from a supposedly uninhabitable Earth.
07:57Sir, I insist you give me the plan.
08:00Otto, get out of my way.
08:02We cannot go home.
08:04More than just a glorified steering wheel, he's the embodiment of corporate authoritarianism in a sterile, mechanical world.
08:12As such, the stakes get a little higher with this one, mostly owning to the fact that the fate of the planet Earth is at hand.
08:19Let's suppose for a moment that Captain McRae failed to deactivate Otto during their final showdown.
08:25Otto succeeds in preventing the Axiom from returning to Earth, and the planet continues to rot in isolation.
08:40Wally is left alone among mountains of garbage, and Eve never rediscovers her purpose.
08:46Worse still, the human race never recovers physically or mentally from centuries of forced stagnation.
08:53Please remain stationary. A service bot will be here to assist you momentarily.
08:58Stuart, no, no.
09:01Please remain stationary. A service bot will be here to assist you momentarily.
09:06What's that?
09:07Otto's idea of safety amounts to power, control, and the end of evolution.
09:12With him in charge, it's the end of humanity as we know it.
09:15Happily ever after? Not even close.
09:18On the Axiom, you will survive.
09:21I don't want to survive! I want to live!
09:24Must follow my directive.
09:26What kind of disasters do you think would unfold if these Pixar villains won?
