JJ Redick said managing LeBron James at 40 years old is 'unchartered territory' for the Los Angeles Lakers
Transcript
00:00It's probably a little bit longer of a ramp-up leading into opening night for him.
00:06Just obviously in year 23 uncharted territory here,
00:09it'll be a slower process with him leading into the first game.
00:13You know, he's obviously got 22 years so far of wear and tear on the body,
00:19and he's dealing with a little bit of nerve irritation in the glutes.
00:22So just we're playing the long game with LeBron.
00:25I don't think there's a blueprint for someone who's had this amount of mileage
00:29and this many minutes and been asked to do so many things on both ends of the court.
00:35And luckily, we asked a lot of them last year.
00:39We asked a lot of them to start the year in camp.
00:42So it's just working as a partnership to try to figure out what's best.
00:47It would be nice. It would be nice for sure.
00:50You know, we would love to have that happen.
00:53And if it doesn't, we'll just make it work.
00:56We won't cancel this season?
00:57No, we'll still play 82 games.
00:59It is a great discussion.
