00:01Kevin and Angela Fleming and we've had our van eight months now. We bought it so
00:09that we could come up from Lincoln where we live to visit relatives in the area.
00:15We are registered with the Caravan and Camping Club but it was just too late to
00:19get on their site last night when we came up because we're just for one night to
00:24visit family and and that's basically it so we know this area. We lived in
00:30this area all our life. We knew this was open so we just parked up. And what's
00:36people's reaction, locals, been to you and others? This is the first we've had any problems at all.
00:42We've only been two or three times. This is probably our third time here so that's it.
00:48And you know like we say we're having permanent parking made at one of our
00:54daughters. And what have people been saying
00:58anything to you? We've had no trouble whatsoever. No conversation with anybody
01:05come out of our house at all. Anything. We've only moved down here this morning to
01:10get away from the builders because they were blocking the road. And what do you
01:15know about the the locals sort of complaining about camper vans down here? We
01:19only heard about it yesterday that there was a meeting and our daughter told us it
01:23was online and on Facebook about a meeting. And that's it. We don't know anything about it.
01:29Nothing at all. But like I say we're not down here permanent. We just so we know we know the area.
01:35We've lived in this area all our lives. We paid our taxes and that's it. I think we think
01:41we're just rough and we're not. We're not. We're just a normal couple to see our family and that's it.
01:52And I can see what they mean about the the canal bank being a mess.
02:00A mess. Yeah. A mess. In parts. In parts. And when we was here you couldn't even more here.
02:06When we was on our boat you couldn't even more down this stretch. At all.
02:10You had to be up there by the by the by the locks and that. But there you go when things change
02:16and everybody's tarred with the same brush I'm afraid. It's made us angry.
02:20I'm really I'm fuming because I knew what that guy was on a on with because he he's seen us and his
02:27hands and arms was growing up in the air. Gesticulating a bit. Yes. Yes he was. He was really
02:32angry. I understand his point of view but you know one night or two nights what difference does
02:40it make? We don't make a mess. We don't do anything. Clean up after our dogs don't we? We don't do anything
02:45we shouldn't be doing. We can't stay in a hotel because our dogs. We can't leave them with anybody because
02:49there's nobody there to leave. And I don't want to leave my dogs. No but so and that's the reason
02:52for the camper van. We've come here because it's easy to get to my daughter's and my daughter's got
02:58doctor's appointment this morning which I'm concerned about that's why I've come down. There's one there's
03:03one son that lives probably a quarter of a mile and we're on his front doorstep. Just round this corner.
03:08Just round the corner. I've got three daughters that live around here and two sons so we've lived a
03:18a long long time.
