00:04Just months after treatment, prayers have been pouring in after the singer's latest health update.

00:09Lou Collar, the iconic vocalist and co-founder of the legendary band Sick of It All,

00:15has shared difficult news about his health.

00:17Just four months after announcing he was cancer-free following chemotherapy for an esophageal tumor,

00:23Collar has revealed that the cancer has unfortunately returned.

00:27Diagnosed in June 2024 with adenocarcinoma of the esophagus,

00:32Collar's initial diagnosis led Sick of It All to pause all band projects.

00:37After months of treatment, he celebrated a hopeful milestone in May 2025,

00:42when he announced the cancer was gone.

00:44However, in a video message posted on Tuesday, September 30th,

00:48Collar opened up about his recent struggles and the cancer's return.

00:52Hey everybody, what's up? It's Lou here.

00:54I don't know if you can tell it's me with my new skeletal look that I have going on.

00:59Here's an update for you. It's not one I want to make.

01:02But unfortunately, the cancer has come back, and he's brought some friends with him,

01:06he revealed to his followers.

01:07I was having a really hard time with my recovery.

01:10I was having a tough time gaining weight and keeping food down,

01:13so I had some scans done, and sure enough, he's back.

01:16But we're going to take it day by day and see what happens.

01:20I want to thank you all again for your moral support.

01:23The way you all reach out to me is still.

01:25Thank you very much.

01:26I'll keep you updated and let you know how it goes.

01:31Alongside the video, Lou posted a written update.

01:35So bad news is the cancer has returned.

01:37So it's back to square one and start the treatments again.

01:40I'll try to keep you updated as much as possible.

01:45Following the news, fans flooded social media with messages of support.

02:02Collar co-founded Sick of It All in Queens, New York in 1986,

02:06alongside his brother Pete Collar.

02:08The band's lineup includes drummer Armand Majidi,

02:11who originally played from 1986 to 1989 and rejoined in 1991.

02:17And bassist Craig Sattari, member since 1993.

02:21Sick of It All has been a staple of New York's music culture for nearly four decades.

02:26Following Lou's initial cancer diagnosis,

02:29Pete created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover Lou's medical expenses.

02:34The fundraiser raised over $330,000,

02:37in November 2024.

02:41Several New York bands came together for a benefit concert titled,

02:44I'm in the fight with Lou at Irving Plaza.

02:47The events precede supported both Lou and the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund,

02:52a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance
