00:00Today in Turkey democracy has been reduced to a shell of its true meaning.

00:05There are elections but no genuine public will.

00:08There are courts but no justice.

00:11The parliament but little voice of the people.

00:14Because without the rule of law elections become empty rituals and democracy remains

00:20an illusion on paper.

00:22We know these all too well.

00:24İstanbul, Adana, Antalya,

00:27İstambul, adına,

00:30Milyons of Vots have been unlawfully removed and replaced by government trustees.

00:34Some even imprisoned.

00:36The will of the people has been locked behind bars.

00:39Our presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu,

00:42supported by 15.5 million citizens,

00:45now faces sham trials, political bans, and threats of imprisonment.

00:50His university diploma has been revoked.

00:52His lawyers detained.

00:54His legitimacy attacked.

00:56Meanwhile, 16 mayors from the Republican People's Party,

01:00the main opposition party, remain in prison.

01:03That means the voices of nearly 7 million citizens have been silenced.

01:07Why?

01:08Because those in power are afraid of change and people's demand for freedom.

01:14But democracy is not measured only at the ballot box.

01:18It requires free media, an independent judiciary,

01:21and equal citizenship for all.

01:23In Turkey today, journalists are jailed for their reporting.

01:27Students face violence for peaceful protests.

01:30And the judiciary has been reduced from a guardian of rights to a political weapon.

01:35This is why our democracy is suffocating.

01:38History teaches us a truth.

01:40No power is stronger than the people's desire for liberty.

01:45They will not silence Imamoğlu.

01:47They will not silence elected mayors.

01:50Because this struggle does not belong to one man.

01:53It belongs to all of us.

01:55We are right.

01:56We are the majority.

01:58And as long as we do not remain silent,

02:01the future of this country cannot be stolen.
