We got the first MSI Claw not long ago… and yet here we are again. MSI’s back—fast—with what might be their most important update yet. And yep, it’s that one. The one people kept whispering about: the Ryzen-powered Claw. The Claw A8 BZ2EM. It’s real, it’s AMD, and it actually beat the ASUS ROG Ally 2 to the punch.

00:00So you have no idea how long I've been waiting for this.
00:03I've asked MSI time and time and time again,
00:06when are you going to do an AMD version of the MSI Claw?
00:10And now we have it.
00:12This is the MSI Claw A8,
00:14and it comes with AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme inside it.
00:17Very fast, very powerful chip,
00:20and I've been testing it.
00:21So let's talk about it.
00:24So I've managed to play a couple of games on it.
00:26I've played Marvel's Spider-Man 2, I've played Hellblade,
00:28I've also played Liza P on it as well.
00:31And what I've largely seen is that whenever you're using FSR 3.1,
00:35you're getting insanely good frame rates going on here.
00:39Of course, if you put something super cinematic,
00:41super challenging at it, like Hellblade 2,
00:44you start to see it's tougher a little bit,
00:46and maybe you're going to get about 30 FPS at 1080p,
00:49which is still more than playable.
00:51But in something like Spider-Man 2,
00:52something that's a bit more optimized for that,
00:54you can easily find yourself getting 60 frames a second
00:58and, hell, you can even tune it up to 1080p, 90 frames a second
01:01on something this size,
01:03which is quite frankly ludicrous.
01:06In terms of what I asked you're getting,
01:07you've got the same 8-inch 920x1200 display,
01:11you're getting Windows 11 on it.
01:13Sometime, please give us SteamOS, that'll be splendid.
01:16The buttons feel a lot more clickier on this one
01:19compared to the previous gen,
01:20and also there's been some ergonomic choices made here.
01:22So, for example, the hand grips on the back,
01:24they're a lot more blocky
01:25compared to the more rounded-off version
01:28that you saw on the previous Temicycler,
01:31or even the Lenovo Legion Go S.
01:34So what that means is you can get a much firmer grasp of this
01:37compared to the flattered surface that you got on the previous Claw.
01:41Ports on the top remain the same,
01:43you've got the same 80-watt-hour battery inside it.
01:45Pricing is still a bit of an unknown.
01:48That makes me a little bit nervous
01:49given the Intel version is going for about $950 in the US,
01:53so I'm not entirely sure what this is going to cost.
01:57Hopefully it's a decent price.
01:59And also, I can't ignore the fact
02:00that I absolutely love the colour of this thing.
02:02It comes in multiple different colours,
02:04including like a hot pink, a bright blue as well.
02:07It's nice to see a company actually having fun with this stuff.
02:10But I want to know what you think.
02:11Would you pick up something like this?
02:13Go ahead and let me know in the comments.
02:14And for more Computex, keep it locked.
