00:00Ah Billy, no!
00:12Danny!
00:16Tranky's coming out!
00:23Get the one off the floor, it's obviously on the floor.
00:26Alright darling.
00:30I'm on the floor.
00:36Okay baby, you okay?
00:37Billy was okay, thanks to her parents quick response.
00:40Life's not been easy for Billy.
00:42Billy was born 13 weeks early, weighing just a tiny 790 grams.
00:46She was born this early due to me having severe preeclampsia.
00:49I got super poorly at 24 weeks and it just went downhill from there really.
00:53My blood pressure was ridiculously high and I had swollen to the point where I just didn't even recognize myself anymore.
00:59Billy's complications started shortly after birth, when her lungs collapsed.
01:03We had lots of difficult discussions about her not making it throughout her hospital stay.
01:09Billy was diagnosed with chronic lung disease and tracheobronchomalacia. Things were not looking good.
01:13Ultimately when she was six months old, the decision was made to give her a tracheostomy.
01:17We decided on this to give her the best chance of growing and getting home and also being able to develop as normal as possible.
01:23She missed out on so much of that.
01:25As though Billy and her parents weren't already going through enough, some people online haven't given them the sympathy they deserve.
01:31Some of the comments are awful. Like, I can't put her through that. This is no life for a baby. You're being cruel. It's just rude and ignorant.
01:41She's faced every hurdle that you can even, you can't even think of if I'm honest.
01:46All of this is to support her and let her grow and develop as normally as possible and then hopefully have it out one day.
01:52But some of the comments are awful.
01:55Billy underwent some intense treatment with surprising results.
01:58We have some huge, huge news.
02:01Billy's allowed to do two 13-minute breaks throughout the day, which they will revisit in a few weeks to see how she's doing and whether we can increase any further.
02:09There was, of course, a little bit of drama at first. She coughed a lot and then threw up.
02:13But we've been reassured that she just needs time to adjust and get used to breathing all by herself.
02:18Since we've been home, though, she's been absolutely smashing it. I think maybe she was just out of her comfort zone.
02:24I still can't believe that for the first time in her life, Billy is breathing all by herself for one whole hour.
02:31A tracheotomy can cause voice loss, but Billy is working hard to find hers again.
02:36She's currently doing really well. Her future is looking really, really positive.
02:52She can just be running around the school playground one day and, God, we'll be thinking, wow, we've made it.
02:58Let's see it, we've made it.
