00:00Very often we see people chanting, you know, how is the chanting?
00:06Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram,
00:09Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna.
00:14Tongue is chanting.
00:23The hand is chanting, the mala is in the hand,
00:26and the tongue is chanting but in the heart there is nothing.
00:37It's good to take the name of Bhagavan, it's good to take the name of God,
00:43but if by taking the name of God yet your mind is somewhere else,
00:50what is the use of chanting?
00:51It's like a pirate,
00:56a pirate, you teach a pirate, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram, do you think the pirate will know who Ram is?
01:03He will chant Ram,
01:06but the pirate will not know who Ram is.
01:12So, you are chanting and chanting and chanting, but yet if you don't feel anything,
01:16if you don't feel anything,
01:18okay, feeling is a big thing.
01:20If you close your eyes,
01:22you don't perceive your Ishtadeva, you don't perceive the deity
01:27inside of your mind,
01:30then the chanting,
01:32you are doing something wrong.
01:34There is not that feeling into it.
01:36It's a different thing, when you chant with feeling,
01:39the moment you close your eyes,
01:40Bhagavan has to be there.
01:42Otherwise, it's like you are thirsty
01:49and you are saying,
01:51water, water, water, water,
01:54would your thirst go away?
01:56Huh?
01:58It will not go away.
02:00You have to go to the tap, take the water and drink it,
02:03then your thirst will go away.
02:06Bhagavan is yours, God belongs to you, you know.
02:12He is not far away from you.
02:15He is with you.
02:19He is yours.
02:21He is not only the one which is seated in the temple.
02:24That is the aspect to what we worship.
02:27But more than that, He is with you all the time.
02:31You carry Him with you wherever you go.
02:34There is not a single place that He is not with you.
02:36There is not a single place that He is with you.
02:38So, if He is so dear to you,
02:41why you can't see Him inside of you?
02:44Now we say, God lives in the heart, yes or no?
02:48Hmm?
02:50We never say God lives in the temple.
02:53We never say that God lives in the sky.
02:58Even when you look up in the sky, yes,
03:01but how many people see God in the sky?
03:05Hmm?
03:07If He don't manifest Himself, if He don't give you that grace,
03:09you will not see Him in the sky.
03:12But everybody says, yes, He lives in the heart.
03:19So, meaning that
03:20we have to call Him from the heart itself, no?
03:24So, when you are chanting
03:25and your heart is into it, you know,
03:27when you are chanting with bhava,
03:29with chanting with that love, with that feeling,
03:34meaning that, yes, I know He is there
03:37and my chanting is not just mere chanting,
03:43just, how say, the tongue repeating it.
03:46So, it's a big difference between the two.
03:55So, both is right, you see.
03:57If you have not reached that level of chanting
03:59with that feeling inside of you,
04:01it's good to chant it,
04:03you know, to remember the name of God,
04:05wherever you are, whatever you are doing.
04:09But it has not to be in vain,
04:10you can't carry on not feeling Him inside of you.
04:16And
04:39.
04:41.
