The Flumps S01E10 Quiet Please
Transcript
00:00Thank you
00:30It was a very noisy morning at the Flumps.
00:39Father Flump was making new floorboards because some of the old ones were squeaking.
00:46Poodle was playing the squeaky floorboards and hoping that Father wouldn't fix them too soon.
00:53I like squeaks. I like squeaks.
01:00Poodle was playing the squeaky floorboards.
01:07Do you like squeaks, Grandfather?
01:10I like the flumpet better, said Grandfather.
01:14Poodle was playing the squeaky floorboards.
01:18Poodle was playing the squeaky floorboards.
01:23Poodle was playing the squeaky floorboards.
01:27Do you like squeaks, Posey and Perkin?
01:30Yes, I like squeaks, said Perkin, but I like playing snap better.
01:35Snap! I'm winning!
01:40Snap! You're not!
01:47Snap! I am!
01:48It's a loud sort of morning, said Poodle to himself.
01:54There's sawing and squeaking and flumpet music and snapping.
01:59Oh, stop, everyone! Stop!
02:06What's up, Mother Flump? said Father.
02:12All that noise.
02:14That's what's up.
02:16My head is aching fit to bust and the noise you lot were making sounded much too loud.
02:23The cure for that is a nice quiet rest.
02:29Come and sit down.
02:31Here, have my chair, Mother.
02:34Take the weight off your feet and rest for a while.
02:39I'll go and make a nice cup of herb tea.
02:45That's good for headaches.
02:46And we'll all be as quiet as feather dusters from now on, said Grandfather.
02:56I'll be as quiet as a snowflake, said Posey.
03:00I'll be as quiet as carrots growing, said Perkin.
03:05I'll be as quiet as the wind, said Poodle.
03:11The wind, said Perkin.
03:13But the wind can be very noisy when it blows.
03:16Very noisy.
03:18All right.
03:20I'll be as quiet as a not-blowing wind, then, said Poodle.
03:25But Poodle, if the wind's not blowing, there isn't any wind.
03:32That would be very quiet.
03:35Quieter than anything.
03:36Well, neither of you are being quiet now.
03:39Just shush.
03:41Mother's trying to rest.
03:44Ah, said Mother.
03:46That's just what I need to make this headache go.
03:50A bit of peace and quiet.
03:55Mother Flump had just settled down for a nap when...
04:05Oh, what's going on?
04:07Whatever is that noise?
04:10It's only me filling the kettle for your tea, said Father.
04:14Well, this headache made it sound as loud as a waterfall.
04:21That's a good job it wasn't.
04:23A waterfall wouldn't fit in this kettle.
04:25Never mind, Mother.
04:27I won't make any more waterfall noises.
04:30I'll get your tea made very quietly.
04:37Shhh! Shhh! Shhh! Pootle! Shhh! Pootle! Shhh! Pootle! Shhh! Pootle! I am shushing. It's the floorboards that aren't.
04:58That's because you're treading on a squeaking one.
05:03Come onto this one. It doesn't squeak.
05:12Oh, what on earth is that squeaking, creaking noise?
05:16Sorry. It's me on the squeaky floorboard, said Pootle.
05:21But don't worry. I'm on a quiet one now.
05:24Oh! That squeaky board sounds just like a giant sneeze that need oiling, said Mother.
05:33It's this headache.
05:35Every little noise sounds ten times louder than it really is.
05:39We'll go and practice being quiet somewhere else, said Perkin. Come on, you two.
05:51It's very hard to keep quiet when the floorboards won't, said Pootle to himself.
05:57Just like giant sneeze that need oiling, said Mother.
06:07Giant sneeze, said Father. Mother Flump must be dreaming and talking in her sleep.
06:14I'll leave a tea here and go and tell the others to keep extra quiet.
06:20You know, Father, said Pootle, Mother Flump's headache makes the tap running sound like a waterfall
06:28and the squeaky floorboards sound like giant sneeze-knocking.
06:32Oh, Pootle, not knocking knees, creaky knees.
06:38There mustn't be any creaking or knocking because Mother Flump is asleep.
06:43We aren't creaking and knocking. The knees were.
06:46Knees, said Father. I think you must be getting mixed up again, Pootle.
06:51Never mind about knees. We must shush.
06:55I know you're all trying to be quiet, but every time you shush it sounds like shhh,
07:06and I just can't stay asleep.
07:09I think we'd better go outside so Mother Flump can have some peace and quiet, said Father.
07:15Here you are. You three can look at the book and keep yourselves quiet
07:20while Grandfather and I find a quiet job to do.
07:24Are there pictures of noises in the book, Posey?
07:30Oh, Pootle, you don't see noises. You hear them. You can't have a picture of a noise.
07:38Well, there are pictures of animals in here. Animals make noises.
07:43What noise does that animal make? said Pootle. Does it go squeak-squeak?
07:50Oh, Pootle, said Perkin. It's a cat. It goes meow. Meow.
08:00Well, does that animal go meow?
08:05Oh, Pootle, said Posey. It's a duck. It goes quack-quack.
08:13That animal is too big to squeak. What is it?
08:20That's a cow, said Posey. It goes moo-moo.
08:28Isn't there any animal that squeaks? said Pootle. I like squeaks best.
08:37There you are, Pootle, said Perkin. That's a mouse. That squeaks.
08:43It's very small, said Pootle. It only makes small squeaks, said Perkin.
08:56That's better than no squeaks at all, said Pootle. What noise does that make?
09:04I don't think fish make any noise at all, said Posey.
09:09They might, said Pootle. They might go gobble, gobble, gobble, bloop.
09:16But they don't, said Perkin. I like the noise ducks make. Quack-quack, quack-quack.
09:23I like cows, said Posey. Moo-moo. I like the mouse going squeak.
09:34Oh, sorry, Mother Flump. Did that sound like the giant sneeze again?
09:39Oh, dear. Did we wake you up?
09:43We forgot the book was supposed to keep us quiet, said Perkin. It made us noisy instead.
09:49It doesn't matter, said Mother. I've had a good rest and my headache is gone.
09:57Headache gone? That's good news, Mother. I'm glad you're feeling better.
10:02And now Grandfather and I can fix the floorboard.
10:06Oh, no. No more squeaky floorboards. What am I going to do for squeaks now?
10:14I like that noise, don't you, Posey, said Perkin.
10:28Sounds a bit like music, doesn't it, said Posey.
10:32If you want to do something, please.
11:53Listen, everyone. Can you hear that noise?
12:13I found a squeak in my toy, said Pootle.
12:19It's a better squeak than the floorboards and I don't want it fixed.
12:24I like it. Just the way it is.
12:26It's a better squeak than the floorboards and it's a better squeak than the floorboards and I don't want it fixed.
12:56It's a better squeak than the floorboards and it's better squeak than the floorboards and it's better.
