00:00Hey guys! Welcome back!
00:02Today I wanted to do a really important but basic tutorial
00:06on how to contour your nose.
00:09So I actually had a little makeup on my nose and I removed it
00:12so you can see I have nothing on my nose now
00:14and I know I'm super close to the camera
00:15but I want to make sure that you guys can see
00:17everything that I'm about to do.
00:20So you know obviously everyone has different types of taste.
00:22Some people like longer nose,
00:23some people like noses that protrude a little,
00:25some people like, you know,
00:26everyone has their own different types of taste.
00:28Personally, I like a little bit of a flatter nose.
00:31My nose protrudes a little bit.
00:33Everyone has beauty to their nose
00:34so I'm not saying people should change their noses completely
00:37but you can definitely enhance a shape
00:39that will just make you look, you know,
00:41a little bit more just like shapely, harmonious,
00:44and you know, softer too.
00:45So I think it is really important to contour your nose.
00:48So I'm going to show you guys really quickly
00:49because I get so many questions on nose contouring
00:51and sometimes just doing a couple of things
00:53can make people feel so much more confident.
00:55So I love teaching people some small tricks
00:57on how to contour their noses.
00:58So I'm going to show you guys really quickly with my nose.
01:00I think it's always really important to prime your nose properly
01:03and I like to use a oil mattifying primer
01:07because I think that noses tend to get shiny.
01:09I don't know what it is about the nose.
01:11Like I don't know if we have more sweat glands here.
01:12I don't know.
01:13Maybe I should have done the research before the video,
01:14but I feel like there's something here
01:16that causes makeup not to set in properly.
01:19I don't know.
01:20Maybe your sebaceous glands are shorter there.
01:21I literally have no idea.
01:22But for whatever reasons, whenever you put a product on there,
01:26I feel like it starts to slowly produce oils.
01:29If you don't put makeup on, I feel like you're fine.
01:31But if you do put makeup on, I feel like you just,
01:33it starts to greasify and it just starts looking really like gross
01:38after a little while.
01:39That's my personal opinion.
01:41Like my nose does that.
01:42Like it starts to look really greasy.
01:44And because of that, I feel like the product moves a lot
01:47and then your nose contour ends up like all over the place
01:49and wishy-washy and just, it doesn't look the way it originally did.
01:52So I always love to start with a primer on my nose.
01:55This is the Huda Beauty Matte Perfection.
01:57You can literally use any mattifying primer.
01:59They're silicone-based primers depending on, you know,
02:01if you have a lot of pores.
02:02I do have pores.
02:03So this primer does help with that,
02:05but there are some primers that help even more.
02:07Like I know Benefits primer helps.
02:09Also Tarte's new one.
02:10They're very heavy in the silicone.
02:12So I'm just applying this matte perfection on my nose
02:15and I'm kind of going alongside my face.
02:18I have makeup here, but it's okay.
02:21And so you can see I have nothing here
02:24and I also don't have anything on my brows.
02:26And there's a reason for that too
02:27and I'm going to show you guys how to manipulate the shape of your nose
02:29with your brows as well.
02:30That's something that a lot of people don't really,
02:32I think they underestimate it.
02:33So I want to show you guys that as well.
02:35So first things first, we've primed the nose.
02:37Now we're going to also apply a small layer of foundation.
02:40I'm just going to use the Huda Beauty Faux Filter and Macchiato
02:42because that's my favorite foundation.
02:44This blurs pores as well.
02:45And so I especially, even if I use another foundation sometimes,
02:48I'll always put the faux filter on my nose.
02:51There are like days when I'm trying other foundations
02:53and I always have to put the faux filter on my nose.
02:56Like I do not have skin that is poreless and not textured.
03:00Like that just didn't happen, but it's okay.
03:02Cause I have other talents.
03:03I can like bark like a dog.
03:04Sound like a monkey.
03:07So it's okay.
03:08It's all good.
03:09So I went ahead and applied the thin layer of foundation.
03:14Again, like super, super thin.
03:15Now what I might do is I'm just going to apply a very thin layer of powder
03:18because, you know, basically I just want to set the foundation.
03:21I'm the kind of person, I think I told you guys before,
03:23I like to put my makeup on first thing in the morning
03:25and I don't want to touch it up all day long.
03:27I need to look flawless.
03:28You know, I'm like go, go, go.
03:29My makeup is done by nine o'clock in the morning every day.
03:31and I don't touch it up till 9 PM flawless.
03:34So I'm just going to really quickly just go ahead and put a little bit of powder.
03:37I'm just using the easy bake in banana bread or you can use whatever powder.
03:40Now you can see with the powder and the foundation,
03:42my nose just looks so much more.
03:44I feel like the pores are gone.
03:45It just looks really nice and smooth.
03:47So now I'm going to go ahead and begin with the contouring of the nose.
03:50And I'm going to pull out a couple of products just to show you guys what I love.
03:52I really like to use a contour kit that has at least two to three colors of a certain type.
03:58And I'm going to explain that right now.
03:59This is from Mac.
04:00This is like a nice contour kit that they have.
04:02This is called the light medium studio fix sculpt and shape contour palette.
04:07So you do not have to spend all the money on Mac.
04:09Although I do like this palette.
04:10NYX has an amazing one.
04:13Anna says Bradley Hills has a really nice one as well.
04:15Dior has one, which is nice.
04:17Morphe has some.
04:18So depending on the brand that you really like,
04:20you may want to obviously go towards that brand.
04:22There's a few colors that you want to find when you're contouring your nose.
04:25You always want to look for one that is kind of on the,
04:28You can see this one's a little.
04:29It looks like a little pink on camera, but it's a little gray.
04:32And the reason why you want to use a gray powder for contouring as opposed to a bronzing powder
04:37is the braze is the gray.
04:39That's actually what it is.
04:40It's brown gray.
04:41That's what we're going to call it.
04:42The, the gray tone with the brown really does kind of create something that looks more shadowy.
04:48So this way you are getting the appearance of a, you know, a certain shadow,
04:52either a slimmer nose, a more protruding nose, a wider nose, whatever you're trying to achieve.
04:56You are getting that appearance with a gray because it's creating the illusion of a shadow.
05:00You also want like a bronzing color.
05:02This is a bronze color.
05:03It's a little bit light.
05:04I'm actually going to use the darker color as well to mix it in with it.
05:07But basically a bronzer then allows you to flatten the nose overall.
05:10It allows you to kind of make the nose look a little bit more, just like a little sexier.
05:14And I'll show you guys exactly what I'm talking about when we do the application.
05:16And then you always want a lighter color too.
05:18So a lighter color will help give your nose like a pinch.
05:21It will also help raise the bridge.
05:23If you have a flatter nose, it will help raise the bridge as well.
05:25And so depending on your undertone, you're going to want to use the right powder for you.
05:29And that's really important.
05:30And I'll explain that just really briefly.
05:32This video is on contouring.
05:33So I don't want to go too into too much detail on the undertone, but it is really important.
05:36If you have a yellowy tone, this is really great for somebody in my skin tone,
05:41somebody who is, I would say medium skin tone, using a light yellow color like this can be really, really nice.
05:47If you have more of a beige light skin tone, you can use this pink color, which is really, really beautiful.
05:52It brings out like those really nice pinks in the skin.
05:54It makes everything look really beautiful, very feminine.
05:56This is great for, I would say, tan skin.
05:58This is a really yellow color, but it's going to be amazing on tan skin.
06:02And then if you have a darker skin tone, the orange is going to look beautiful.
06:05And if you have any like blues in your undertone, this is going to be stunning in your skin.
06:10Just to really bring out all those beautiful colors.
06:12It just brightens up the area.
06:13So all of these tones I told you guys about just will really kind of add brightness under the eyes and also around the nose.
06:19And it just looks really, really sexy.
06:20And I'll show you guys right now as I, as I do the application.
06:24The first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to grab this light and medium palette, and I'm going to go ahead and grab an angled brush.
06:30This is actually a super cheap brush that I found on Amazon.
06:33It doesn't have a name.
06:34I'm just going to use an angled brush.
06:36That's kind of fluffy to contour the nose.
06:38This is not any special brush at all.
06:40There's a ton of brushes out there.
06:41Morphe has a ton.
06:42You know, I think I've seen some from, who was it?
06:46There was another brand that actually has a nose contouring brush.
06:48I don't know what it's called.
06:49This is just a really nice, it's angled, but it's not too harsh right here, which is really what I'm looking for.
06:54I'm looking for something that kind of is like a little bit of a fluffy angled brush.
06:57And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to dip my brush in this like kind of grayish color in the middle.
07:01And I'm really saturating the end, so as I'm dipping it, I'm kind of going on each angle.
07:07And you can see I've really saturated the bottom of that brush.
07:10You can see it's just completely doused in the product, which is great.
07:14So what I'm going to do is I'm not going to use the back of my hand.
07:16There's nothing on the back of there.
07:17There's no oils, nothing.
07:18So I'm just going to go ahead and pat the brush.
07:20So this way I'm removing any excess product.
07:22I don't want to get too harsh of a line.
07:23I really want to be nice and soft.
07:25And so I'm just going to go ahead and I'm starting from where, basically I'm going from where my natural bridge is.
07:29And you kind of want to look at where your nostrils begin.
07:32I feel like a lot of people don't really know where to contour.
07:34So you kind of want to look at where your nostrils begin.
07:37And you kind of want to go a little bit above that.
07:40It's almost like where the peak of your nostrils are.
07:42So not where the first part is, but like where they peak.
07:45I like to usually go there.
07:46That looks really nice and clean.
07:48It creates a shadow because of the grayness of it.
07:50And we're going to make this so much better, so bear with me.
07:53I'm also going to go on the other side.
07:54So again, I'm going for the brow.
07:56I'm curving a little bit.
07:57And I'm going to the peak of the nostril.
07:59And I'm slowly going back and forth and applying more product.
08:02You can see it is really defined, which is fine.
08:06That's actually the way I like it.
08:07And I'm going to show you guys how I like to soften it.
08:09If you have, you know, a little bit of wider set nostrils, you can, if you want to, contour them.
08:14That's totally optional.
08:15What you can do is you can take a little contour and you can put it here, right at the end, like kind of like at the corner of the nostrils.
08:20You want to make it like right at the bottom.
08:22I think this is optional.
08:23I personally don't think it's really necessary, but some people do ask me that question.
08:27So just in case anybody wants that information, you basically go here.
08:30But if you want to make your nose shorter, I personally like a longer nose, but I do shorten mine slightly.
08:34You can really shorten your nose.
08:35You can go right here on the bottom and then you can go all the way to the tip.
08:40I would not go higher than that.
08:42It's right here, right where the tip starts.
08:45So I've contoured my nose a little crazy right now.
08:47I've done a lot, but that's okay.
08:48I want to show you guys a little bit more of an extreme contour.
08:50If you have any bumps, if you have any areas where it's like not completely smooth.
08:55If you have an indent, sometimes it happens where there's just not completely formed cartilage.
08:59You can actually lightly dust that area.
09:01Don't go super hard and make that line super strong.
09:03So you can see I have a little bit of indent here.
09:04I don't want to put as much there, but I have a, my bone sticks out a little bit here.
09:07So I'm going to put more on the bone.
09:10So you really are just messing with shadows.
09:13You want to make sure that's a bit stronger in that area.
09:15And here where my nose sticks out a little bit more, I'm going to make that contour a little stronger too.
09:19And although I've contoured my nose, it still doesn't look very shapely.
09:22And the reason why is because we've only contoured with dark colors.
09:25We actually haven't highlighted, which is a really important part of contour yet.
09:29And so I'm just going to quickly finish up that contour now, and then we're going to move on.
09:34Now to finish up the nose shape because we have the dark color, but we don't have the light color.
09:39I am going to use a little bit of our concealer and I'm going to use it really light.
09:42Now you need to use a concealer that sets to a powder.
09:45So if you're using a product that is too greasy and does not set, there are concealers out there that just don't set.
09:51You don't want to use that now.
09:53You would probably prefer to use a foundation or mix your concealer with a powder or your foundation with a powder.
09:58You just want to make sure that you're going to get a really matte finish.
10:01This is our overachiever in Toasted Almond.
10:03And I'm just putting some on the back of my hand, really a small amount.
10:05I do not want a lot right now.
10:07Just like tiny, tiny, tiny amount.
10:09And I'm just going to use a concealer brush and I'm going to do a little shaping.
10:13And I'm going to start first by shaping the center.
10:16So I'm just going to go straight in a straight line.
10:18And you do not need to go the full width of the nose.
10:21Back in the day, people used to go the full width of the nose.
10:23You do not need to do that.
10:25If you want to make your nose thinner, if that's your goal, you can just make a very thin line.
10:28It can be like a really, really, really tiny line.
10:31If you have a thinner nose like I do, I like to make my nose a little wider.
10:34So I'm actually making this a little bit of a wider line.
10:37If you're somebody who has a nose that maybe doesn't have a strong bridge and you want to make the bridge look stronger, it's up to you.
10:42What you can do then is you can add a much lighter color here and it will make your nose look like it protrudes more.
10:49Usually for me, I like to do the opposite.
10:50I like to make my nose look flatter.
10:51But, you know, it really depends on what you have and what you're trying to get.
10:54Like I said, there's beauty in everybody's nose.
10:56You just need to like find, you know, your way to work it and what works for you.
10:59And I don't think there's a cookie cutter way of nose contouring.
11:02So I'm going to give you guys all the rules which you guys should really take them and play with them and see which ones work for you.
11:07And even if the rules are, you know, let's say you have a flatter nose and it's nicer for you to make your nose protrude but maybe your face looks better with your flatter nose.
11:14I think it's really important, you know, to customize these rules for your particular needs and, you know, for yourself and your taste.
11:21So now I'm going to take a little bit more concealer and I'm just going to go ahead and put it on the side of the nose.
11:24I do like to make my nose look a little bit more pinched.
11:26So I'm just putting it here and you can see that is making my nose look pinched.
11:29And I'm actually even going up on the bridge of the nose.
11:32Personal taste, I like it pinched.
11:34And I'm just using a blender to kind of like blend that in.
11:37And you can see the line still shows which is okay for now because I'm going to blend it all in right now.
11:43I'm going to take one small little squirt of foundation.
11:47And basically I'm just going to go ahead and I'm going to smooth it on my whole hand because I want it to be really faint when I pick it up on my brush.
11:54So you can see it's there.
11:56I'm basically going to dip my brush into the foundation.
11:58And this way I have a really small coat on my brush and then I'm just going to go ahead and start to saturate my entire nose.
12:03So what this is going to do is it's kind of sealing everything in and it's also lightening everything as well.
12:08So it's making it all look more natural.
12:10And now I legitimately look like it's a shadow as opposed to makeup on my face.
12:14And so you see by spreading it out before you apply it, you really get a nice thin layer.
12:18To make everything look really nice and snatched, I'm going to apply a little bit of the Easy Bake Powder and I'm using a blending brush.
12:24I'm just coating that blending sponge.
12:26And I'm just going to just dust off because I don't want to fall out.
12:29And I'm pinching my nose.
12:32And again, I like to go on the bridge of my nose.
12:35This is personal preference.
12:36Everybody has their own personal preference.
12:37So you've got to do it the way you want to do it.
12:39And I'm just taking off any powder, any foundation.
12:41Just going to brush off any foundation.
12:44And a lot of people like to highlight their noses.
12:49For me personally, it's not usually what I like to do because my nose protrudes a little bit.
12:52So really depending on you and your personal needs, you can take a little highlighter.
12:55And I like to use my fingers if I do use a nose highlighter.
12:58But if you want a weaker bridge, it's not necessarily the right thing to do.
13:01But you can take a little bit of highlighter on your fingers.
13:03And you can just take it down the center.
13:05It does make your nose look straighter.
13:07So if you have a little bit of a like liquid nose, you can put a little bit there.
13:10You can see my nose protrudes a little bit.
13:11So it's not necessarily one that I want to use.
13:13And a lot of people like to put a lot on the center right here.
13:15But again, for protruding noses, for me that's not right.
13:18I think it looks much more natural when you put a little bronzer on your nose.
13:21So I'm just going to grab a little bit of a bronzer shade from this is the medium dark palette.
13:26So I'm just going to grab this like bronzing shade right here.
13:28You can use any bronzer you have to.
13:30And I'm literally just going to go ahead and brush it on the nose.
13:33And I just feel like it makes the nose look much more natural as opposed to looking, you know, contoured, snatched, concealed, foundation on it.
13:41Like all these things you want to look more like, you know, yes, it's contoured but it looks natural.
13:46You know, and I just like to bronze the face as I do that too.
13:48And I feel like everything looks more natural.
13:50And if I am wearing blush, I also like to just dab that on my nose slightly as well.
13:54And now my nose looks really nice and contoured.
13:58Now there's one last thing I want to teach you guys.
14:00And this is really important that I think most videos leave out.
14:03I include it in my nose contour video in Arabic, but I think it's really important to include in this video as well.
14:07And that is your brows.
14:08And you can see I purposely left my brows empty here.
14:10I actually applied a little foundation there to make it look whiter.
14:13And what happens is if your brows are wide set, it makes sure this whole area look whiter.
14:17So a lot of times that is the fix that most people need.
14:20They don't actually need to, you know, the contour and going to all these steps and finding out the shape and everything.
14:24Most of the time it's actually just bringing their brows closer together or farther apart.
14:28So when you have brows that are really close together, it makes your nose look really long and really thin.
14:33And when you have brows that are farther apart, it does the opposite.
14:36It makes this area look very wide.
14:37It really draws the attention to the center of the face and it makes the nose look very wide and, you know, just very big.
14:43I remember Cardi B back in the day, she just always would never bring her brows closer together.
14:47And when she got a makeup artist and they brought them together, I thought she just looked so much prettier.
14:50So it's something like I see all the time on people.
14:52I always just want to bring their brows closer together or farther apart.
14:55This is going to be the last step in this nose contouring video, but it's super, super important.
14:58So you can see my brows are farther apart right now and I'm just going to go ahead and bring them in closer.
15:03And I'm going to go to the front of my eyes.
15:07I'm going to go there first.
15:09I'm going to add a little bit more.
15:10And you can see as I do bring my brows closer together.
15:13Why does this brow look funny?
15:15And you can see as I bring my brows closer together, everything just looks a little bit better.
15:21My nose just looks a little bit thinner.
15:24But it's really funny how small things like your brows affect how wide or thin or long or short your nose looks.
15:33So that is the last step for this nose contouring video.
15:36This was a very in-depth video on how to contour your nose.
15:40So you can definitely watch the full thing.
15:42You can take parts of it.
15:43You can, you know, just use and adapt it to how you need.
15:46But I do think if you're going to wear makeup contouring your nose is really necessary just because even if you have the most perfect nose,
15:52it's just going to look really, really flat once you put makeup on.
15:55So I think it's really, really important.
15:56I like to do these like little makeup master classes and just teach you guys as much as possible.
16:00And I can also bring in models or anybody else.
16:02So let me know if there's a specific need that isn't relevant to my specific face, but maybe relevant to your face.
16:07Let me know.
16:08And I could definitely do that for you guys.
16:10So I hope you guys enjoy this video.
16:12Thank you guys so much for watching.
16:13Please make sure you guys subscribe, turn that bell on because there's a lot of videos coming.
16:17And I'll see you guys next time.
16:18Love you guys so much.
