00:00Welcome to Santa's Workshop TV, where Christmas cheer is made right here.
00:06Ho, ho, ho. Welcome back, my friends.
00:08Last time, we talked about St. Nicholas.
00:11And today, I'll tell you the story of one of my favorite traditions,
00:15the very first Christmas tree.
00:18Many, many years ago in Germany,
00:21families brought evergreen trees inside their homes.
00:25They decorated them with fruit, nuts, and little handmade treasures.
00:30The green tree reminded them of hope and life, even in the cold of winter.
00:36And would you believe it?
00:37Parents and children even placed candles on the branches.
00:42A glowing tree filled their home with warmth and joy.
00:46Of course, always keep my beard far away from the candles.
00:50Ho, ho, ho.
00:52The idea spread across the world.
00:55When Queen Victoria had a Christmas tree in England,
00:58everyone wanted one.
01:00Soon, families everywhere were trimming their own trees.
01:05Later, candles became electric twinkling lights,
01:08and decorations grew brighter and brighter.
01:12Today, each Christmas tree is a sparkling symbol of love and togetherness.
01:17So, when you look at your tree, remember, it's more than just decoration.
01:22It's a tradition that's been bringing families together for hundreds of years.
01:28Until next time, ho, ho, ho.
01:30Merry Christmas.
01:31Thank you for joining me today.
