00:00Welcome everyone. So yes, a lot of people thought that the answer for this one is supposed to be 4
00:05because see 4 and a half divided by half, the half and half can get cancelled.
00:09So we are just left with 4 divided by 1. The answer for that one is supposed to be 4.
00:13No, that is not how these things work. Please understand.
00:17Here we have a mixed fraction in place.
00:21So first we need to convert it into an improper fraction.
00:26That would be what the denominator remains same.
00:28So here in the numerator, the denominator gets multiplied to the integer part which is 4
00:34and then you add the numerator.
00:38So here this becomes what? 9 by 2.
00:41Now your question has changed to what? 9 by 2 divided by 1 by 2.
00:46Whenever there is division involved with fractions, we need to follow the rule of KCF
00:51where KA stands for keeping the first fraction as it is.
00:54CE stands for changing the division sign to multiplication.
00:58F stands for flipping or taking reciprocal of 1 upon 2 which is 2.
01:02So this and this gets cancelled.
01:04So answer for this question is supposed to be just 9.
01:07I hope this is very very clear to everyone.
01:10That's it for today. I will see you in the next video.
