00:27Welcome to Rise and Shine Filipinas, Mrs. Sue.
00:30Thank you so much. Thank you so much for having me.
00:32Can you guys hear me?
00:33Yes. Thank you for joining us.
00:35Well, tell us about this Mrs. Universe 2025.
00:38So I'm so excited to be here, of course, and thank you so much for inviting me here.
00:43So this pageant will be held on October 8th.
00:46It's a lot of women who's actually delegate their life to have their mission and vision.
00:51It's about having the voice for domestic violence victims.
00:58So that's actually one of our advocacy for this program.
01:03And being Mrs. Universe Asia is not just about beauty but also about showcasing the importance of advocacy.
01:09What are the key messages or causes you aim to promote through your title?
01:13To be honest with you, this pageant is not about traditional beauty pageant, right?
01:21You're not going to see all of us like having that 5'9 or 5'10, 6'0 or 6'0 beauty and everything, right?
01:28It's about, again, you know, it's about women that having that mission and vision that we already are willing to accomplish in our life.
01:36And there are so many victims of violence, domestic violence, not just only here, even around the world.
01:44I, myself, I'm not a victim of domestic violence but I have been around with people, women that actually I help them.
01:51I nature them, basically, I also took them in my house.
01:55I help them financially and all those stuff.
01:58So I've been around them so I know how it feels.
02:01They're actually my close friends and my loved ones as well.
02:05So I wanted to be able to be one of their voices.
02:09Because not a lot of people and also not a lot of women are able to speak up for themselves.
02:15For me, they don't have the voice.
02:17So we need this type of platform that actually will have that bigger impact, not just only in the society but also for the women that actually cannot speak up for themselves.
02:27And there's so many right now at home who is watching me right now who cannot really speak up on their mind of what's really going on with them.
02:39We do need this kind of platform that can have that positive impact, especially for domestic violence.
02:45And we're not just talking about women, we're talking about our kids itself.
02:49For these kids to see and see their mothers actually going through this, it's not normal.
02:56But we have to make them aware that it's not normal.
02:59It's not a functional family that's very dysfunctional family.
03:03If there's one out there listening to you right now because of your advocacy and is a victim of domestic violence, what message would you like to give them?
03:09I, first of course, safety first, right?
03:13Because if you are around those type of people who's narcissistic, they're not going to take a chance to hurt you.
03:20The first thing that I would do is I would go to a police station, of course, and report it and try to make sure that you are actually protected itself.
03:29You need to find somebody that you can trust, that you can actually really tell how you really feel and what's going on in your family.
03:39On a lighter note, since you are joining this competition, how do you balance your life?
03:45I mean, we heard that you are in the process of getting your doctorate in psychology, right?
03:51Yes.
03:51So for psychology, for completing my PhD, sorry.
03:58Yes, for completing my PhD, I actually stopped for a meantime and everything because with all the business schedules and everything.
04:07But I am actually going to try to complete it again.
04:10I'm almost done.
04:12All I have to do is to write my dissertation to balance with you.
04:15And writing a dissertation is tough, especially if you're a mother and you're an entrepreneur.
04:19And I'm also doing fashion modeling as well.
04:21I'm an international model.
04:22So I travel around the world.
04:24So you are successful, like you're a model, an entrepreneur.
04:28And what motivated you to join Mrs. Universe?
04:31And again, you know, one of my motives to join in Mrs. Universe, not just only about the title,
04:39it's about having that advocacy to speak up for domestic violence victims.
04:43So for the advocacy.
04:45Absolutely.
04:46Well, please invite our viewers to support the activities of Mrs. Universe 2025.
04:51Thank you so much again.
04:53Please support us.
04:55It's going to be held on October 9th.
04:57And please don't forget to vote for me.
04:59Okay.
04:59How will they can vote?
05:01You can go to their website, Mrs. Universe, and choose my name, Sue Tran.
05:06It's only $3.
05:07So how many will be competing?
05:10It's going to be 120 women.
05:12120 women.
05:14Yes.
05:14All over the world.
05:15Yes.
05:15Okay.
05:16Well, good luck and all the best.
05:17And of course, we salute you for your advocacy that you continue to push for.
05:21And I hope this will be a very good platform for you to bring that message to many women
05:25out there.
05:26Thank you very much.
