'Violent' Galactic Merger Captured By ESO Telescopes

The Very Large Telescope (VLT) and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) has captured a "violent cosmic collision in which one galaxy pierces another with intense radiation," according to the European Southern Observatory (ESO).
